Friendy Fill-Ins Week 279

Hi everyone! Joanie and Sammy want to thank you all for attending their party and for the birthday wishes.

Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. So far this year, I have accomplished ___________________________.
2. My plans for October include ______________and ______________________.
3. _________ may be difficult, but it’s worth it.
4. I don’t think I’ll ever master _________.
My answers:
1. So far this year, I have accomplished rescuing 4 cats. Lucy, Ethel, Bridget and Ethel’s son who my sister adopted.
2. My plans for October include the hubby and I taking a day trip to Maine to meet some dear friends and finally getting that painting done around the house.
3. Taming feral cats is difficult, but it is worth it. Ethel is really coming along, her sisters, not so much-yet.
4. I don’t think I’ll ever master knitting.  Some ladies at the senior center tried to teach me years ago, but no luck. Being a lefty is challenging.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Back in October 2015  Angel Phoebe was participating in Tocktober.

  1. Good answers Ellen! Rescuing four cats really is quite an accomplishment! Cute and funny picture of Angel Phoebe for Tocktober! XO

  2. II am glad you rescued all those kitties, and I hope that soon they might become sweeties.
My sister is also a leftie, and she couldn’t master a lot of crafts including knitting. She still has trouble with some things…I have a bit of leftie in me too, but for me it makes me able to do things with ease, cause I can switch. Though I am actually mostly right handed.

    1. So far this year, I have accomplished transplanting some of my perennials into other spots to make room for the shed….though I wish I could say the shed has been set up…nope, we have to wait for the concrete peeps to find an opening to come here, they are extremely busy…
    2. My plans for October include calling my sister for her birthday and getting a lot of the yard prepared for winter..
    3. Being a nurse aide may be difficult, and hard work, but it’s worth it.
    4. I don’t think I’ll ever master playing the piano. I did try once…could play a few nursery songs, but I just couldn’t get into t…my oldest son did…though he got burned out and doesn’t play at all any more. He had lots of awards and such…I pray one day he might pick it up again. Our piano is gathering dust…

    1. Thank you for these great answers. It seems like all construction workers are booked up right now. I hope you can get your concrete poured soon. I bet you could master piano with a lot of practice. Mine is gathering dust too plus it makes a great spot for craft items. ) XO

  3. I hope you have a wonderful time in Maine meeting Teddy’s humans. That is a great achievement rescuing that sweet family. I am glad Ethel is coming along well and hope her sisters soon will too. That is a cute Tock-Tober pic of Angel Phoebe.

    1. I am looking forward to seeing them. Thank you. :)I hope Lucy and Bridget warm up to us soon. XO

  4. As talented as you are with every other craft, I’m surprised knitting has escaped you BUT I could never get beyond knitting a 10 foot long “nothing” much less a sweater either. You are masterful at taming a feral that’s for sure and giving them a home is a wonderful thing. I know who you’re visiting in Maine – tee hee.

    Hugs, Pam

  5. 1. So far this year I have exercised away some fat to give my insides a break from being so crowded in there. Still working on it. Only place I needed to work on.
    2. My plans for October include cleaning the main closet…again. And cleaning out drawers again. How do they fill up like that?
    3. Aerobic dancing may be difficult at times but very enjoyable, and totally worth it. Helps with fat burning.
    4. I don’t think I’ll ever master technical stuffs on the computer. Mom either. We’re useless…mostly.
Katie Isabella and Mommy (but the answers are hers this time).

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Good for you for losing some fat I wish I could. I always declutter and it comes right back too. XO

  6. Ohhh yay for your upcoming meet and greet with P & D
My daughter is a lefty too. When she was learning to print letters at home she was struggling with holding the pencil so she could see what she was writing. I was told to sit across the table from her while holding my pencil and she would learn how to hold it with her hand straight and she did. Of course the spiral notebooks required in school were a bother…then I found the with the spiral on the right side.
    Hugs Cecilia

  7. Love your fill-ins and didn’t know you were a lefty until today. I see we are both having issues with crafting. I can’t do anything and you make all kinds of wonderful kitty toys.

    Awww on Angel Phoebe.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins. Always look forward to them.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ♥

  8. TW is a lefty and she used to both knit and crochet when she was younger B4 cats. How about a day trip to NYC/NJ to meet me and TW while she’s still alive.

  9. I have never been able to master knitting either. My Grandma tried to teach me when I was younger, but I just couldn’t get it. I found crochet much easier to learn.

  10. Phoebe and Tocktober♥ I know a bit about knitting but I can never get on the needles. There is a place I found here that gives knitting lessons. I am not interested in making a thing… I just want to make one never ending scarf. It’s the knitting and clicking of the needles that calms my anxiety right down. Your #1 is a success story! You are going to have a wonderful time meeting up with friends!
    My Fill-Ins…
    1. So far this year, I have accomplished not much of anything!
    2. My plans for October include cooler weather and hopefully lower humidity.
    3. Making homemade noodles may be difficult, but it’s worth it.
    4. I don’t think I’ll ever master not worrying over hurricane season.

    1. Have you ever tried diamond painting? That is very relaxing. Thank you for these great fill-in answers. I would have a nervous breakdown during hurricane season if I lived in FL. I bet homemade noodles are really good. Have a nice weekend. XO

  12. Rescuing cats is a big accomplishment.

To learn to knit as a leftie, do what i did for my leftie children when teaching them to tie shoes — have the person do it in front of a mirror, and then you copy the mirror. It works!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 That is a great idea. Maybe I can teach my great niece how to crochet that way. XO

      1. Wee ran outta $$money$$ Miss Ellen.
Wee REELLY needed a mew Loveseat an BellaSita needed an mew Ortho Pillow.
        Shee wantedd THE Hosrsie Lithograff….
Guess wee have to ree-save our penniess now 😉

  13. Mom’s not a lefty, but she also cannot master knitting. She can knit and purl for a few rows but she always ends up losing some stitches. But she can crochet pretty well.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  14. Our semi-feral Sweetie falls asleep on my chest; all of her other habits pale in comparison.
You’ll find a way; time is on your side.

  15. My husband is left handed and my father and I struggled to teach him how to fillet fresh caught fish. It’s an issue, for sure. But I’m right-handed and hopeless at the textile arts anyway. lol My great aunt gave up after numerous attempts.

    1. Someone recommended showing someone to crochet in front of a mirror- maybe it would work with the filet.

  16. Great answers, Ellen, and you know what? Dad’s a lefty, too!! We sure hope your trip to Maine is fun. Mom and dad were going to try to get up north your way around Thanksgiving, but they’ve decided to scrap those plans for various reasons. Maybe early next year.

    1. Just a day trip, but I look forward to having lunch with friends. I’d love to meet your folks whenever they come up to my area.
