My Answers:
1. TAMING A FERAL CAT was easier than I expected. ( Either Brody was a drop off and not truly feral or I got very lucky).
2. Bucket list: 1. MEET NIC CAGE 2. MEET NIC CAGE 3. MEET NIC CAGE ( That is it, I only have one thing on my bucket list).
3. I cannot believe SOME PEOPLE GIVE UP THEIR PETS TO SHELTERS OR ABANDON THEM- A PET IS FOR LIFE.
4.If I could HELP EVERY CAT IN NEED, I would IN A HEARTBEAT.

  1. Oh, my…Mom got even. But, Phoebe, you are cute, no matter what.

    I suspect Brody is not a true feral, but he has certainly been through a rough time. He is very blessed to have found you. You really did well for him, Ellen. Hugs.

    I agree with #3 and #4. I never feel I have done enough, and never will.

    1. I am lucky to have Brody, he came at a time I had 2 holes in my heart from Lucy and Stinky and he filled them up. Nic Cage never seems to film in NYC or Boston, he is either in New Orleans, California or out of the country:( I am happy to co-host with you too. XO

  3. As always, I love your fill-ins! Whether he was a stray or feral, you did such a great job with Brody. And, I knew what your bucket list was going to include! And I completely agree with you on #3 and #4.

  5. Loved your answers. So you want to see Nic Cage before the bucket hits you. Mom and dad went on a tour in New Orleans and saw where Nic Cage lived. It was a gorgeous mansion type house. Fit right in in New Orleans. Mom says he still lives in New Orleans but thinks he moved from the lovely house she saw.

    1. That must have been nice to see his big house. I think he does still live in New Orleans and also in Bath, England- lifestyles of the rich and famous.

    As for #3, sometimes people are given no good choice. When we took on foster children many, many years ago, we were made to give up our kitties. It was heartbreaking, to say the least. 🙁

    1. Phoebe says thank you. That is so sad that you had to give up the kitties. Did the state not allow any pets with foster kids? I would think the pets would be therapeutic.

  7. The cats that show up here just kind of acclimate themselves to being around us. There are some we call no-pet-mes who want to be feed and talked to, but want no part of human touch. Others show up and love to be handled.

    Xerxes was a feral baby. Our daughters took him out of the mouth of another cat that was trying to kill him. Sparta was feral as well.

    The State of South Carolina issued an order to either give up our cats or give up the foster kids. We had no choice.

    1. That is very sad that the state made you get rid of the cats. The kids and the cats were similar in learning to trust so they would have been good for one another. I know cats are very good with autistic kids.

  8. Awwww, Phoebe, you still look lovely! I don’t understand surrendering pets either. It’s a lifetime commitment when you bring a pet into your home. So, do you want to meet Nic Cage? I couldn’t tell for sure? 🙂 LOL

  9. It is sad people give up their animals, and i agree most of the time they could choose to make accommodations and keep their pets. There have only been a few cases where i’ve agreed that person truly needed to rehome the animal (and in most cases it was an elderly person going into a nursing home with no family to take the pet).

    1. It breaks my heart when elderly people and those that are ill can’t keep their pets. Most of the time there is a family member that could help and won’t- it is so sad.

  14. Great answers. I wish we can have a cat but right now I can’t touch the cat litter since I am pregnant. Maybe one of these days we will be able to have a cat. We shall see right now we have our big 2 year old pup.

    1. My niece has an 8 month old baby and she just had her hubby deal with the litter.

  17. Jeanne Foguth…who is Nic Cage? Here is a list of recommended Nicholas Cage movies for you to view: Moonstruck, Peggy Sue Got Married, Honeymoon in Vegas, Guarding Tess, City of Angels, 8 MM (R-rated), Adaptation, National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Ghostrider. Moonstruck is my absolute FAVORITE…can rewatch it over and over again, and do anytime I find it on TV. How did I do, Ellen, with my list?

    1. Great job on the list- I forgot about a lot of those- I loved Moonstruck and Honeymoon in Vegas and City of Angels too and It Could Happen to you is a great one. I didn’t care for Leaving Las Vegas though even though he won an award in that one.

    4. If I could stop having asthma attacks, I would be a very healthy cat. .

  26. I’ve never had any trouble taming a feral cat once we got it in the house.

    I’ve always liked Nic Cage, but I know a lot of people who don’t. I hope you get to meet him one day!
