4. The best car I ever owned was ____________________, because ____________.

My answers:

  1. Worrying about things we have no control over is a waste of time, yet I can’t stop myself from doing it.
  2. My favorite app is the Kindle app on my computer.
  3. My first car was a blue Gremlin, it was my grandfather’s. If this sounds familiar it is because on another fill in that was my first ___ was ___, I chose car.
  4. The best car I ever owned was my 1990 Honda Civic, because I got it brand new and it was a beautiful shade of blue.I had it for 14 years.

We are joining Feline Friday currently being hosted by our friend at Comedy Plus.

Β Joanie in her car, actually it was my niece’s and now it is my great-niece’s, but we use it for photo shoots.

  1. I thought I had left a comment, but I don’t think it took. πŸ™ My response to #1 is very similar to yours. I’m prone to worry, try as I might not to. I can see why the Kindle app would be a favorite. πŸ™‚ My first car was blue too! But not a Gremlin.

I hope you have a great weekend, Ellen! Thank you for sharing!

  2. My first car which my Dad bought for me was a BLUE Olds – LOVED it. Not having a smart phone means I’m “app-less” (haha) but I do love using Pizap on the computer so that’s an app right? Joanie in her car is SOOO adorable.

    Hugs, Pam

  3. Worry is praying for what you don’t want. Imagine good outcomes instead!

Your car that lasted 14 years sounds like the kind i’d love to have.

  4. Oh, now I’m thinking I should have put that for #1. I used to be a huge worrier, and while I certainly am not cured from it, I have come to realize that I simply can’t control some things. I was watching a movie last night (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, because I’m a fantasy junkie) with the quote, “Worrying means you suffer twice.” I really like how that puts it into perspective.

Joanie, do you like to go on joy rides in your car there? Purrs!

    1. That is a very good point about suffering twice.
Joanie hasn’t learned how to drive yet πŸ™‚

  5. Number 1 is also a big problem here.

Living in Europe, I never needed a car as public transportation is in general great here. Even if I had a car, I wouldn’t use it often – I’m faster with public transportation

  6. Our Mom is a big worrier too. I sure don’t remember what my first car was. I think it was some kind of Ford. We like your answers to the fill ins. Joannie, that is one terrific car. You all have a good day.

  7. I would have loved a Gremlin as a first car Alas, an uncle passed away when I was 15 & I had the misfortune of inheriting his beloved Buick Special…. I suspect Janet Evanovich had a similar misfortune, since that huge, indestructible vehicle has been a standard throughout her Stephanie Plum series….

  8. I have to use your fill-in for #1. I have been a worrier all my life. I work at NOT being a worrier but it is a frustrating habit to break. Pixlr is a fun app! My first car was a turquoise VW Bug… πŸ™‚ I learned to drive a stick in that Bug. I don’t think I could pick a best car… I have loved them all but one. Joanie has great taste in cars!

    1. It is hard to stop worrying, impossible. I am not familiar with that app. A turquoise VW Bug sounds nice. Joanie thanks you. XO

  9. Great answer for #1. I so agree with that…worrying just makes you sick and most of the things you worry about don’t even happen. But, I do it too all the time. Hope you have a great weekend!

  10. We agree worrying is a waste of time..but a hard habit to break. Mom tries to only worry about things she might be able to change
    Hondas are great cars.
    Hugs madi and mom

  11. Joanie is a cutie. I like her car too.

Yes worrying about things you have no control over is wasted time, but a lot of us still do all the needless worrying.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. ☺

  12. Good fill-ins! Our Mom laughed at the first two fill-in blanks because she believes all apps are a waste of time, or time-sink, as she calls them. But that’s our Mom, always working and hardly ever stopping for Internet stuff.

  13. Great answers, my friend. I enjoyed these answers. Age has taught me to not worry so much. It is what it is.
I loved Gremlins! I had a couple of friends who drove them. My favourite was a purple one, done up in Wrangler denim. It was just really different! HUGS!

    1. Thank you. I can’t stop worrying about my cats. I loved my Gremlin even though it had a big hood and I hit a lot of things with it πŸ™‚ Mine was a cool shade of blue. XO

  14. Good questions for this week! Looks like kitty enjoys the photo prop…so cute! Happy Friday! πŸ™‚

  15. Those gremlins!!!

Joanie looks cute in her car!

1.Cleaning the windows is a waste of time, because they get dirty right away…Pipo spits on them when he chatters at the critters he sees outside…and sometimes he even wipes his paws all over them too. They can get quite smeared up, MOL!

    2. My favorite app is I do not know…cause I don’t use those.

    3. My first car was a dark brown Chevrolet Chevette…sometimes I fondly called it my Sh*tette!! OMC!!

    4. The best car I ever owned was a 1980 Mazda GLC sedan, because it was a 5 speed, got great mileage and it had a sunroof, too. It was my second car…all smashed to smithereens 8 months after I got it:(
I was OK, but the 1981 model that I replaced it with was nothing like it, however I had that one for 12 years, MOL!!!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Yes, with pets, cleaning is a waste of time πŸ™‚ I don’t have a smart phone, the only app I have is the Kindle one on the laptop. That is a funny nickname for a car πŸ™‚ Glad you were OK after that accident. XO

  16. 1.watching the news is a waste of time.

    2. My favorite app is : I don’t have one.

    3. My first car was an old Ford faded blue station wagon I think from the 50’s.

    4. The best car I ever owned was ____________________, because ____________.

  17. I’m with you about worrying. Things I can’t control are the hardest situations for me. I can’t stop banging my head against a wall. My first car was my grandfather’s as well. A 1980 bright orange Impala (this was 93/94) with maybe 15000 miles on it (he only drove it to church). Only AM radio … no air conditioning … I appreciate the car I have now so much because of that.

    1. I have that same problem, I am always saying the Serenity Prayer.
Bright orange must have been something, that is funny we both had our grandparents cars.

  18. ya noe….sum thin bout that car joanie…. looks familarz ta uz !!!!!!!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ β™₯β™₯

  19. I LURV my Honda Civic, “The Cat Car” even though it’s 20 years old! Makes driving FUN, and it’s a hatchback so it reminds me of my first car, a Mercury Bobcat.

  20. Nice answers. I hope you are well! Here are mine:

    1. TV is (mostly) a waste of time. I’d much rather be writing.

    2. My favorite app(le) is the gala (I don’t have a smart phone!). All these digital gadgets are too distracting for all the writers I see in person. And my partner carries one (~grin~), so there’s one when I need it.

    3. My first car was a Buick Regal because it was in my price range and my father thought it would keep me safe. πŸ™‚

    4. The best car I ever owned was our Chevy Volt, because the hybrid vehicle is really economic for my tooling around town. Plus I love it to pieces because it’s also fun to drive. Bonus!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I love #2, very creative answer πŸ™‚ I don’t have a smart phone either, bur I do love the kIndle app for the computer. I would love a hybrid. Have a nice weekend!

      1. I’m glad you liked my answer about the apps. you have a great weekend, too! Tomorrow is my mother’s memorial service. I haven’t lost it completely since her passing, having expected it for so long. So we’ll see how well I do getting through the ninety second plus eulogy I wrote come morning.

  21. My first car was a red vega. Isn’t it funny how we remember our first cars so well! I loved that car even though I had to pull over all the time and add oil to it!

    1. Yes, we always remember our first cars -and they usually have major problems like yours with the oil πŸ™‚
