Friendly Fill-Ins Week 522

Hi everyone. Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. _______________________ is the luckiest thing that ever happened to me.
2.________________ is the most unusual item in my refrigerator
3. My _________ is lacking.
4. I have more than enough _________.
My answers:
1. A mutual friend setting my hubby and I up on a date is the luckiest thing that ever happened to me.
2. Chocolate is the most unusual item in my refrigerator. Does anyone else store their chocolate in the refrigerator?
3. My checking account is lacking.
4. I have more than enough cats. I currently can’t afford vet care for any more than my 11.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from May 2020. Angel Sammy was testing out the first corn of the season.

  1. Sammy loved his corn, LOL!!
    1. _______________________ is the luckiest thing that ever happened to me. I don’t believe in luck, but rather in providence! And the best of all the providences I have encountered is God having healed me from almost stage 4 cancer…way back in 2006/7. I am a living miracle…
2.Venison is the most unusual item in my refrigerator
    3. My patience is lacking when it comes to the squirrels uprooting tree seedlings/saplings to eat the acorns and seeds still attached to them. And also to the marauding starlings who gorge on my bird food and sometimes even bully other birds to get what they want. They even have learned how to get into so called starling proof feeders…
    4. I have more than enough invasive weeds in my yard…and also plenty enough of ‘ordinary weeds’. (Invasives tend to crowd out the native plants, and upset the whole balance of where they are located,

    1. Yes, he did. Thank you for these great answers. I am thankful you survived and I get to know you. Wildlife can be a pain. We have a woodpecker that bangs on the metal downspouts at 5 am. XO

  2. Wonderfu fills. And yes, mama stored a very special chocolate in the fridge, and it was wonderful even after several months. And yes, hubby. The best.

  3. My dear friend I am so happy you were saved from cancer…..I have “danced” with her for so many years and have been lucky to have wonderful doctors dancing with me. I just love that Angel Sammy enjoyed his corn – A LOT! Thanks for being one of the hosts for SUPER FUN Fill-Ins on Friday. We look forward to it EVERY week!

    Big Hugs, Pam and Teddy

    1. I am Sorry you have had to worry about the evil C. You are always in my prayers. Thank you. I look forward to everyone’s answers weekly. XO

  4. Right now I wish it was warm enough to have corn on the cob like Angel Sammy had! I’d say you and your hubby have both had great luck. May it continue.

  5. Oh my gosh, my Robin and Hopping John loved corn on the cob! Both, in their own Thanksgiving dinners, had mini-diced roasted turkey breast, corn & peas (especially for them. I love peas but no one else does.) For Sunday breakfasts, they always had a serving of scrambled eggs and some bacon. No one else since them has asked. I think kids sneaking some of their food to them is what started it all for Robin and Hopping John.
    1. Having kids is the luckiest thing that ever happened to me. Bar none
    2. A can of evaporated milk in the Half and Half container that is intended to lighten my coffee is the most unusual item in my fridge.
    3. My outdoor activity is lacking! Seriously so.
    4. I have more than enough of any grocery store bought things as replacements when I run out of the original in the pantry. I must think the doors will get blocked and keep me from going to the store, or something, Kids make fun of me since forever!

    1. Awww…that is sweet that they had their own turkey dinners. Thank you for these great answers. It is wise to stock up- we all learned that during COVID. XO

  6. I have pretty much the same fill-in for #1, Ellen. We are lucky!
Angel Sammy’s corn eating photo has been a special photo. I guess the corn passed the test that year. Corn is a great vehicle for butter!
    1. Having SSNS kick the bottom of my boot in the library and ask me out when we were in college is the luckiest thing that ever happened to me. Together for 52 years.
    2. A jar of creamed herring is the most unusual item in my refrigerator.
    3. My filling-in ability for this fill-in is lacking.
    4. I have more than enough Backer’s BBQ potato chips. A big box of them came yesterday from Jerry’s brother in Missouri!
Ellen, I want to thank you too for hosting the Fill-Ins. I am always looking forward to them.
Happy Friday and weekend to all, Meowing Crew!

    1. Yes, we are blessed. Thank you for these great answers. That is an interesting way to meet someone. 🙂 XO

  7. I hear you on vet care. Gus and his urinary blockages broke the bank! I worry that some pets aren’t getting the care they need because of costs.

  8. Chaplin: “Corn seems to be delicious! Dennis was also a big fan! Although that might have had something to do with the butter …”
Charlee: “Our Mama and Dada also met through a mutual friend! Although she didn’t set them up on a date. She invited them both out for a walk around campus one time when she was back visiting. Rumor has it Mama and Dada didn’t say a single word to each other for the entire walk, but somehow they ended up dating anyway and the rest is history …”

    1. That is a fun story. Glad they eventually spoke. We don’t use butter- he just liked corn.

  9. 1. Marrying hubby is the luckiest thing that ever happened to me.
    2. Dirt is the most unusual item in my refrigerator. I need to do a deep cleaning.
    3. My attitude for idiots is lacking.
    4. I have more than enough love for hubby and our kitties.

  12. That’s such a sweet photo! I can’t even imagine the vet bills for 11 cats. I know you and your husband must go without a lot yourselves to provide such excellent care for so many kitties in need, and you are angels!

  13. Keeping chocolate in the fridge is probably a very good idea. It’s what i do often.

Angel Sammy looks like he was enjoying the corn. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!

  14. That’s a very cute flashback. As a matter of fact I have a few bars of chocolate in both my fridge and freezer. I think chilling chocolate is a good way to keep it fresh.
