Friendly Fill-Ins Week 4

Hi everyone! Today is Friendly Fill-Ins Day! If you don’t have a blog, please post your answers in the comments. I came up with the first 2 statements and our friend, Annie at McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2.

1. The best money I ever spent was ___________________________, and the worst was___________________________.

2. My most memorable vacation was with __________________________  at ______________________________________.

3. It                    when                      .

4.Once, I                         .
My answers:
1. The best money I ever spent was for my cats, adoption and medical expenses, and the worst was a down quilt for my niece. I am against down, but she wanted one so I got it for her for Christmas. Her cat, Nixon chewed little holes in it and then her dog peed on it. Somehow I ended up paying to get it dry cleaned which was almost as much as the quilt.
2.My most memorable vacation was with my parents and sister at Old Orchard Beach Maine when I was 8. I have had wonderful vacations with my hubby, but there is something about the security of being with your parents that is magical.
3. It breaks my heart when I see a cat in need of a home and can’t adopt it.
4.Once, I agreed to go on a blind date- June 4, 1989- my first date with my now husband.
I am going to post the code for the link-up, if you have trouble here, I am sure McGuffy’s Reader’s linky will work. ellen_cat_badge_2
And it looks like the Phoebe’s shades will be traveling. She will have a sign-up sheet on Sunday.

  1. I understand how you feel about #1. Some of our furkids have had astronomical health costs. They are worth every penny. The quilt? Good grief. #2 is sweet. You were blessed. #3, my heart breaks. I know. And #4, I believe in destiny. ❤ Good ones, my friend. Thank you for sharing with me. Hugs!

    1. Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed my answers. I would use all my credit cards and get a loan against my house if my cats were in need of medical care and I know you would too. XO

  2. 1. The best money I ever spent was acquiring my last 5 cats, and the worst was on the first car I bought myself.

    2. My most memorable vacation was with a friend canoeing and camping with a longtime friend in Canada at Lake Opeongo, Algonquin Provincial Park.

    3. It ALMOST killed me when he ineptly overturned the canoe spilling our gear in shallow water and then later on the way back when we ran into a storm and I discovered he panicked easily. If I hadn’t known how to quarter high waves, we would have overturned in deep stormy water. He would have drowned and I MIGHT have. .

4.Once I realized he was utterly unsuited to nature and balance, I bought a wide flatbottomed boat that even HE couldn’t tip over. LOL! .

    1. We had a wide, flat cargo canoe in Alaska and never managed to tip it over. It was great fun investigating the rivers and lakes.

    2. Thank you for your answers. I agree any money spent on cats is well worth it. That sounds like a scary trip, good idea to get a flatbottomed boat. 🙂

    1. Thank you for participating- I am so glad you did even if it meant you had to claw your Mommy 🙂 XO

    1. Thank you for participating, I enjoyed your answers. I hope Purrseidon and Mr. M make up soon 🙂

  4. Great answers! I’m with you on #3. I wish I could adopt all the homeless kitties I see. My heart breaks for them.

    1. Thank you for participating, I enjoyed your answers. It is hard to want to save them all and not be able to.

  5. I love your answer to #2. Ugh about the quilt in #1, but I do agree about spending money to help our kitties. I completely agree with #3, and sadly, I see it all the time. #4 is sweet.

    1. Glad you liked my answers. Thank you for participating, I enjoyed yours too. I think #3 is a problem for all of us cat lovers.

  6. I hear you on #3. I want every cat and kitten to have a good home where they are loved and respected. I enjoyed reading your fill-ins. Since I do the fill-ins in comments I think I should take turns doing them here and at Annie’s and where I first learned about the Friday Fill-ins at One Spoiled Cat’s blog… 🙂

    1. You can link up with either of us because they are the same. Annie’s linky always works though and mine doesn’t. Thank you for participating , I enjoyed all your answers too.

    1. Thank you, I am pleased with how the blind date turned out too- especially since I said no at first. I am glad you want to join in the sunglasses fun. XO

  10. Mom laughed so hard at your comments about the down quilt, I thought she’d wet herself. MOL

We must do these wonderful fill ins too.

    Shoko

    1. All I can do is laugh about it now too, it is funny looking back on it 🙂 Thank you for doing the fill-ins too, I enjoyed Kali’s answers

  11. Mommy says she agrees, da bestest money she’s ever spent is on us kitties too. Altho’, like you she’s against da down too, she had to buy a down blanky fur me cuz she had a worker who wore a down jacket and me would curl up in it and get lost. Course mommy got it on da cheap, and it’s machine washable. But me luvs it. And me can’t wait to see what Phoebe will be sendin’ ’round. MOL

    Luv ya

    Dezi

    1. It looks like Phoebe is sending the shades to travel. That was nice of your Mommy to get you a down jacket- she is lucky it is washable, I can’t believe how expensive dry cleaning is now. XO

    1. Thank you Billy and thanks for participating too 🙂 XO and love to your Mum and all of you.

  12. Great answers but hard fill-ins for a cat. I did 1 yesterday so I’ll try the others.

    2. My most memorable vacation was with Tuna at CommuniPAW.
    3. It sucked when I got captured but I guess it turned out for the best.

4.Once, I ate a prawn but I never ate another one.

    1. Thanks for your answers. I am glad your capture turned out well 🙂

  13. I can understand how you feel about critters in #1, and how frustrating it was when your lovely gift turned into an additional expense! Your vacation sounds like a wonderful childhood memory to treasure! I have the same issue with #3, my fantasy job would be to operate a cat sanctuary, it is my husband’s common sense that prevents me from becoming a crazy cat lady because it makes me sad to see cats or dogs so badly in need of love and good homes. How delightful that you met your husband on a blind date, God works in mysterious and wonderful ways! I met mine on the Internet, and he’s a definite keeper! <3

    1. I agree, God does work in mysterious ways, especially when we open ourselves up to his help. I am glad you found a keeper too.

  14. Take it away Dad Pete
    1. The best money I ever spent was on Nursing School at a Community College, and the worst was buying a boat. It sure was fun though

    2. My most memorable vacation was with friends adn furs at home in the back yard.

    3. It hurts your butt when you ride 1776 miles on a motorcycle in 24 hours.
Ta Da… We finally did it
    Thanks .

    4.Once, I .

    1. Thank you for your answers. I didn’t realize you had gone to nursing school, that is great. I agree vacations at home with the kitties are best 🙂 And that does sound like a long way to travel in a short time.
