Friendly Fill-Ins Week 361

Hi everyone!  Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. I wish my town ( city) had a ________________________.
2. So far, this year has been _________________.
3. _________ is a little too _________ for my liking.
4. Even if _________, I really appreciate _________.
My answers:
1. I wish my town had a hospital with an emergency room.  I have lived in the same small town my entire life and we always had a hospital until a larger one bought it out and kept closing parts of it until there was nothing. And they won’t let any other place take it over because they clearly want to force us to all go to the next town where they also took over that hospital.
2. So far, this year has been flying by at warp speed.
3. Amy Poehler’s new show, The Swedish Art of Death Cleaning is a little too crude for my liking. I was all excited about a show on decluttering, but I was not thrilled when the first person they helped has a collection of something that rhymes with Venus. I don’t think I will watch anymore.
4 Even if Tuffy, Ethel, Bridget and Lucy won’t let me pet them, I really appreciate that they will at least be in the same room with me and chase the laser toy.
We are up to the letter X in The A-Z Blogging Challenge. X for eXtras- declutter by getting rid of things you have extras of that you don’t need.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from last May, Emmy and Drake (both angels now) were sharing their dad’s lap.

  1. I understand about #1, my little town doesn’t have a Hospital or Emergency Room either. The closest one is probably 25+ miles away.

  2. We used to have 2 hospitals, but they merged and now we only have one, which is actually just a satellite of a much larger one in the city 20 miles away, Hospitals seem to be handled as just businesses instead of a necessary service to the public.

Nice flashback of Emmy and Drake.

    1. I wish my town ( city) had a big dog ppark.we have two, but our fenced yard is muuch bigger, so we have not been to ea=itthher one..
    2. So far, this year has been busy, ansd more busy.
3.’Popular music is a little too loud (and somehow unsettling) for my liking.
    4. Even though(if) I may forget to acknowledge it, I really appreciate the fact that hubby washes the dishes for me each night.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Popular music is very loud indeed. Your hubby sounds sweet. XO

  3. Oh, we wish you had an emergency hospital, too, even a small clinic for emergencies. And we don’t know your town’s name! As for the decluttering..wow, that collection must be pretty weird, and don’t want to think of what it’s for, haha.

    1. Thank you. I wish we did too. The lady on the show had those on display and a drawer for other purposes. 🙂 XO

  4. I am lucky that our main city hospital is only a 10 minute drive away. It is also a teaching hospital so has all the latest amenities which I do appreciate. You can choose not to have students present but we all have to learn. I think what the heck, I haven’t got anything left that hasn’t been poked prodded, X Rayed or removed so they might as well get on with it!
That decluttering show sounds a bit weird!
    Cute flashback of your angels.

  5. Not having an emergency room close is not good….I understand a lot of the BIG hospital conglomerates are closing down hospitals all over the US forcing people to go far away for care. This is NOT a good trend! That decluttering show sounds strange to say the least!!!!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy

  6. That is a bad thing to not have a hospital close by. Our small one has actually grown with a new
addition built during covid pandemic. Sweet angels, aren’t they so missed.

  7. OH gosh…I hate the A-Z challenge is ending. I have loved every single entry in it. And that declutter series, no way I would watch it. I dislike crude and just nasty things when I am made to see them against my will…which it would be if I knew what was going to be shown to me. Another reason I only watch two streaming channels that I choose. Your babies that play with you now will, maybe in another year, become more friendly.

    1. I am glad you enjoyed the decluttering. I hope you are right about the kitties. XO

  8. Dad agrees with you completely on your #2 answer, Ellen. He says it seems as he gets older time flies faster and faster.

  9. We are lucky to have two large hospitals locally. They are connected to big specialty hospitals (like MD Anderson Cancer and Sloan Kettering). The only thing I would complain about is the ER wait which can be hours. I am grateful though. I’ve had pets who only like affection on their terms. Fortunately, my four now are used to the hugs and nose boops they get almost hourly.

  10. We’re lucky to live in a city where hospitals and emergency centers are abundant. However. the trend in hospitals closing down is very concerning.

  11. Aww! @ Emmy and Drake what a nice capture, I like the cat strolling across the header heheh!

    Have a flashbacktastic weekend 👍

  12. 1. I wish my town (city) had better roads. Full of potholes and you have to be careful.
    2. So far, this year has been amazing. We’re going on a cruise on our boat next week and we’re nearing the end of our home remodel.
    3. Twerking is a little too ridiculous for my liking.
    4. Even if there are so many unhappy people, I really appreciate the fact that hubby and I refuse to be unhappy.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to you. ♥

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am glad you are having a nice year. We have a lot of potholes and potheads in my town. 🙂 XO

    1. Thank you. The city is 30 minutes away, but the next town is 15 and still has an ER. XO

  13. You’ve lost too many angels. ~hugs~ And that tale about the hospital is awful. It’s one more reason I’m grateful to live here. Kettering Health is a bit of a monopoly but we have emergency services all over the place, one just down the main drag a ways. The state of Kentucky is tyrannical when it comes to ambulance services, barring Cincinnati businesses from servicing the area while residents languish with the inadequate availability. It’s always that almighty dollar. 🙁 Best wishes, my dear.

    1. Thank you. I wish Kettering could come take over ours. You are right about it being about the money. XO

  14. Charlee: “Oh, wow, a town without an emergency room ― that might not have worked out so well for our Dada a few years back …”
Chaplin: “I’m sure Tuffy, Ethel, Bridget and Lucy will come around eventually and let you pet them, but if not, I know they appreciate your giving them all a safe home!”

  15. Our hospital was taken over by some kind of out of town large entity that doesn’t know the local area or the patient histories, yikes. Good answers and cute picture of

    1. I wish someone would take over ours to keep it running, but they are even having the building torn down to ensure that can’t happen. XO

  16. I find a lot of TV and movies to be too crude for my liking these days! I miss the times when it wasn’t acceptable to do or say certain things on TV (guess I’m an old-fashioned prude!).

  17. We lost our in town/city hospital over a year ago almost the same way you did. The big hospital system built a new hospital way outside of town and that is where everybody started going. This year has been flying by. Sweet flashback♥
    My Fill-Ins~
    1. I wish my town ( city) had a Chick-fil-A.
    2. So far, this year has been challenging.
    3. Going out to eat inside is still a little too close and confining for my liking.
    4. Even if tech stuff is a bit confusing, I really appreciate it… sometimes. Haha.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I have never been to a Chick-fil-A , there is one about 30 minutes away. Sorry this year has been challenging. It is awful that no one can stop this from happening to hospitals. I even wrote to the president and got a lame form letter back. XO

  18. Mee-yow Aunty that deel with THE Hospital there *stinkss*! No doubt about it!!
This yeer iss flyin at speed of lite it seemss!!
As fore THE deeclutterin vid, wee agree…..EEKKK!
An BellaSita feelss THE same way ’bout mee Aunty Ellen 😉
BellaSita Mum wnatss to due Fill-Innss an here shee iss:

    1. I wish my town ( city) had a City Council that outlawed importing Addicts & Alcoholics from other places to “Detox” them for $money$. They stay & carry on their nasty lives & make our lives worse!
    2. So far, this year has been utter crappola for BellaDharma an myself.
    3. Alot of movies & video games are a little too graphic for my liking.
    4. Even if I am very unwell & not very mobile, I really appreciate being alive.

***nose rubss*** BellaDharma an {{{huggiess}}} BellaSita Mum

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am sorry that happens in your city and in your building. I hope the year improves for both of you. XO

  19. It’s terrible how the big corporations come in and take over, in everything from health care to grocery stores. It eliminates competition and we’re stuck with whatever prices they decide they want to charge us.

Getting rid of extras is often a great idea. They can store it at the thrift store for you if you ever need another!

Awww, i really like the angel picture, good memories. Thank you for joining Feline Friday!

  20. Very interesting answers! What a shame about the hospital. I couldn’t imagine not having one near us. xo
