Hi everyone! Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. My answers:

  1. I think the newspaper is a waste of money. We still buy it on Sunday, but it gets thinner all the time. And the biggest rip-off is the Thanksgiving edition that goes up to $6 and has hardly any fliers.
  2.  Lately, I spend a lot of time cooking. We have an endless supply of zucchini and swiss chard.
  3. Meeting Nicolas Cage is the craziest thing on my bucket list. Actually it is the only thing.
  4. Festivus is a holiday that I would like to see more celebrated. You know, the one invented by George’s father on Seinfeld.

  4. Zucchini is so good. My grandma used to make exxcellent zucchini bread!

    Does the Sunday newspaper still have coupons? I know some people who used to buy it for that reason.

  7. I agree with you about newspapers!

    1. I think (way too much to put down here ) is a waste of money. LOL!

    2. Lately, I spend a lot of time reading about things going on at my local rescue agencies.They are suffering a lot because of the economic situation these days.
    3 I really don’t have a bucket list, but though its not very crazy I would love to visit lots of foreign countries, esp in Europe..
    4. Easter Monday, Boxing Day (Dec26) and Ascension Day are holidays that I’d like to see more celebrated. In our city, they even used to have Ascension Day parades. Go figure!

  8. I have heard it is your birthday today so, Happy Birthday!
    I stopped getting newspapers when the pandemic started because we didn’t go out at all, and we are too far out to have them delivered. Now I read it all online.

  10. I just saw a needlepoint of Nicholas Cage…isn’t that crazy?
    I use newspaper to wrap the daily pooplogs and peeballs in, but the pages keep getting smaller.

  12. We gave up on the Sunday paper too! Like you said, it got thinner and thinner and wasn’t worth paying for.

  13. We got rid of the paper when it got smaller and smaller and more and more expensive. Mom loved the coupons but they pretty much disappeared when Covid happened. Mom got a deal on 2/22/22 for two years of online access for $22.

  14. Here here on the newspapers. We were getting it on the weekend only. About the same time of Covid lockdown. So we paid the price for 7days a week so we’d have some outside info. As soon as the world opened up a bit we tried to cut back to 3 days. We were told we could no longer just subscribe for weekends only. And on top of that the 7 day a week price doubled. We canceled the entire subscription. And those blooming idiots kept calling trying to get us BACK….with a promise of reduced rates. I said so sorry too little tool late.

  24. Oh yeah, Festivus for the restofus! TW gets the newspaper to do the crosswords and sudukos. She has a special offer that’s only a few bucks a week and like $136/year for 7 days/wk.

  26. Earlier this year our paper went up by $20 a month AND stopped delivering on Saturday, so I finally cancelled it and get digital only now. Should’ve gotten rid of it a long time ago! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
