Friendly Fill-Ins Week 257

Hi everyone! Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. I wouldn’t mind if __________________.
2. I want to _________ my ____________________.
3. Others come to me when they need _________.
4. _________ is a memory that I regularly think about.
My answers:
1. I wouldn’t mind if everything shut down again. I like staying home.
2. I want to publish my next children’s book. I need to tweak it though and my brain doesn’t want to cooperate.
3. Others come to me when they need help with their cats. Recently, I have trimmed nails and given insulin shots to some of my friends’ cats .
4. Nothing is a memory that I regularly think about.  I know that sounds odd, but my anti-anxiety meds keep me in the now and I never think of previous happenings.  In some ways it is a good thing, in others, it is not, but I prefer to not have anxiety.
For The A-Z Blogging Challenge, we are already at the end, the letter Z. Z is for zinnias, plant some ( or whatever makes you happy). My hubby started some self-polinating cucumbers and zucchinis back in February and they sure are making us happy.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Here is a flashback of Angel Phoebe. Cinco de Mayo was her favorite day of the year. She would dance on her pole and her dad would give her $5 and Grammie would give her some money too. I crocheted this sombrero and scarf for her.

  1. One’s brain just doesn’t seem to work as well during troubling times! I have been rereading favorite books, because starting new ones seems too hard. Like comfort food, a trusty, old friend book is a balm to the soul.

  2. OMC…Phoebe is totally adorable in this photo. We always love seeing your precious angel. Every year Mom says she is going to plant zinnias, and she never does. They are very happy flowers. Maybe she will do it this year. Mom and Dad are both homebodies, but Mom is happy things are opening back up some. We have been having internet issues all day, so Mom says we may or may not have fill-ins this week. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet

  3. 1. I wouldn’t mind if it rained every night…(but that the sun would shine during the day)…to keep everything green and pretty!

    2. I want to fix/repair/replace so many things in my(our) ancient home…but the time flies by an my time is limited and my hubby can’t do nearly as much as he used to…

    3. Others come to me (At my work), when they need help with caring for residents…I guess they know I will.

    4. My visits to The Netherlands are memories that I regularly think about. And many of the times we all got together it family gatherings with aunts, uncles and cousins…we hope to be able to do that again this fall. We missed last year…due to the covid mess…but we want to continue the tradition, even if now its only cousins…

Angel Phoebe sure wore that costume well!

Your zucchini plats are huge for being grown indoors! Your harvest will be bountiful:)

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I know what you mean about wanting to make changes at home. That visits to The Netherlands must have been amazing, it looks like a beautiful place. XO

  4. So the garden is already producing! Coolio!!! Love Angel Phoebe’s fabulous “Cinco” outfit……My Mom says she hasn’t minded being home so much this past year either. She had more time to be with ME ME ME!

    Hugs, Teddy

  5. Darling photo of Angel Phoebe♥ I am with you on #1! It will be a happy day when you publish your next book! I love cucumbers. My Fill-Ins…
    1. I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t ever have to travel again. A nice day trip now and then is fine.
    2. I want to take my time sticking my toe back in this new normal of life.
    3. Others come to me when they need a laugh.
    4. Our Z Cat and her funny sweet personality is a memory that I regularly think about.

    1. Thank you, you are too sweet. And thank you for these great answers. Same here with travel. Sounds like Z Cat was very special. XO

  6. I don’t mind staying at home but I like to get and around every now and then. However, with all of the hoopla going on, I feel safer at home. Adorable pic of Angel Phoebe! ❤️

  7. Great Fill-in answers. Mom found some “volunteer” tomato plants right after she planted more seeds. We think the birdies planted them!

Fun flashback photo of Angel Phoebe!

  8. Love your fill-ins and the meds are better than not having them. I agree with you there.

I’ll be back next week to participate in the fill-ins. Thank you for all you do.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

    Have a fantabulosatweaktastic weekend 👍

  10. Such a cute photo of Angel Phoebe! And good answers! So good of you to help others with kitties! I had to learn how to give insulin shots to kitties, too. XO

  11. Here are my answers!
    1. I wouldn’t mind if Covid disappeared forever.
    2. I want to visit all my family members.
    3. Others come to me when they need a helping hand and I love it!
    4. My Mothers kindness and love towards all is a memory that I regularly think about.
    Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I like staying in, but I hate that so many people died so I am with you on #1. Sounds like your mom was wonderful. XO

  12. #1: I wouldn’t mind if it stopped raining. We really needed it but now we need some sunshine!
#3: Others come to me when they need someone to listen to. I’m not a big talker, but a good listener.

When I was younger, I used to live in the past all the time. I think of random memories, but nothing specific all the time. I prefer to live in the present now.

  13. Supurr fill-ins, and gorgeous photo of Angel Phoebe! Amber can’t wait to get her mittens on your next book, since reading this she is most eager! MOL Thanks for hosting and do come to Smooch’s 10th birthday pawty today! XOX

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I will be sure to send her a copy when I finally get it done. XO

  14. When I struggle with a writing project, it annoys me to no end – but eventually it comes to me and I’m so glad I waited. I don’t even have to think about it – it’s like my mind is re-arranging and re-thinking everything in the background. Then again, I don’t write with deadlines – that’s a different story – and the reason why I don’t pick up more paying jobs.

  15. I always look forward to your fill-ins. I cannot wait to read your next children’s book and add it to my bookshelf! And we had very similar answers for #3. Angel Phoebe, happy almost Cinco de Mayo!

  16. You’re awesome. ~hugs~ And not worrying about things out of our control (past, present, and future) is a good thing, for sure.

  17. Ellen,

I’m finishing up your A2Z posts finally. Whew, I’m telling you I hope I never get this far behind again! I’m still working on a number of other blogger pals posts, but I will get to each person who made time for me in April. My children’s childhood are memories I often think about. I miss those days. Best of luck to your children’s story tweaking! Have a good day, my friend. And, congrats on doing a swell job posting A to Z!!

    1. No worries, you had a lot going on. Doing all those sketches is time consuming. XO
