Friendly Fill-Ins Week 248

Hi everyone! Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. You don’t have to convince me to ___________________________.
2. _____________is causing me stress.
3. Speaking from experience, _________.
4. Over time, my opinion of _________ has changed.
My answers:
1. You don’t have to convince me to wear a mask. The fact that I used to be sick all winter with colds and now I am not is all the convincing I need.
2. My vet being closed is causing me stress.  The place closed a week before Christmas and is still not open. I am happy with the place I brought Sammy, but I want my place back and I fear they are not going to reopen.
3. Speaking from experience, extras on tv shows and films are treated like dirt- yet, I am hoping Dexter needs some extras because I would love to be one on that show.
4. Over time, my opinion of Facebook has changed. I used to like it for connecting with people I had not seen in years, then I realized I had not seen them in years for a reason. Plus I feel like it is a shallow connection, I prefer a private email.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

We want to wish a Happy Purim to our Jewish friends. Our flashback photo is Angel Lucy as Queen Esther.

  1. I feel the same way about Facebook. I used to think it was fun to connect with old friends, but really it’s just a momentary thing. Like you said, it’s shallow. I prefer email too. Have a great weekend!

  2. That is a sweet flashback photo.
It is not good that your vet is shut and I hope they do reopen. I feel the same with our doctor’s surgery. The big main centre is about 5 miles away, but we have a small friendly surgery in the village which is only a mile away and much more convenient. They close that one when first lock down started and said it was temporary. That was nearly a year ago and now all phone calls have to go through the main surgery. Everything is done online now unless they think it is an emergency.

  3. I hope you are able to return to the vet you’ve always used…..ours is still operating thankfully – we began going there when we first moved to this town in 2006. Masks are a way of life these days. Everywhere we go in our town people are wearing them thankfully. Thanks for hosting Friendly Fill Ins…..your fill ins are great as always……………….

    Hugs, Pam

  4. OH Angel Lucy! Mommy has a book about that very Queen that she is getting ready to read after my favorite brother reads it.

  5. Excellent answers. Yes, Grandpa the Doctor says, there’s no question that wearing a mask helps, that’s why they do it in surgery. If it did not help, they wouldn’t wear them.

Loved the angel picture, i hope you have a great eekend.

  6. Angel Lucy made a great queen. Adorable.

Love all your fill-ins. I deleted Twitter and Facebook and am so glad I did. All the hate was way more that I cared for and you just can’t get away from it. I don’t miss either one bit.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  7. That sucks about your vet. It is almost impossible to get an appointment here, and we cannot go inside with our pets, but at least we can get them there eventually. Wearing a mask can have a lot of benefits as you have found. Congratulations on staying healthy this winter. 8. I never go oit without a mask on better to be safe than sorry 🙂

Angel Lucy makes the perfect Queen Esther lol

Have a regaltastic safe weekend 😷😷😷

  9. Angel Lucy looks purrfect as Queen Esther for Purim. And we love your fill-ins! Especially #4. I too have been healthier this winter. Alas it is heading into pollen season and I shall turn into a soggy sneezing coughing mess and will be unable to go anywhere because people will think I have Covid. I am NOT looking forward to the next 8 weeks. We hope you all have a marvellously happy day!

  10. One of our neighbors is a pediatrician. She told Mom there has been virtually no flu cases in her office and very few colds and viruses. She and Mom both agree – the masks have a lot to do with that. Mom even double-masked when she is in stores these days. She has had one vaccine, two more weeks until the next, but she will continue to mask for a very long time to come.

We don’t do FB, never have, never will. TMI in Mom’s opinion. She will share what she wants to on a more individual level.

  11. Always such fantastic fill-ins! It’s not fantastic that your vet is still closed, though. I’m frustrated for you. I would admittedly be quite annoyed if our vet closed, because having to start over with a new one can take a lot of time and patience. I really hope this all gets sorted out for you. And it would amazing if you were an extra on Dexter. I’ll have finished the original 8 seasons before the new season comes out, and I already can’t wait. Have a wonderful weekend!

  12. Good fill in answers. Always good to see photos here and the felines. We are expecting more snow this weekend so I am getting geared up.. It is winter, it is Colorado, we get it. I think everything happens for a reason and I prefer to trust God thorugh it all. I am glad the weekend is here and I get extra time with my honey, Have a wonderful weekend.

  13. I haven’t had any illnesses either, thankfully!

And I am sorry your vet hasn’t reopened, that would drive me nuts, having to seek out a new one. Mine has stayed open all the while, and he even lets the person bringing the pet to come in…only one, though. We do have to wait in the car if there is someone in the lobby already, though.

Facebook , well, I hardly use it, but I do keep it, cause like you say, some peeps can only be reached that way.

  14. You’re so right about Facebook! Often connecting with old friends just doesn’t turn out to be what you thought it would. Plus I just hate that people think it’s so acceptable to be mean and rude on there. 🙁
