Friendly Fill-Ins Week 243

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. ______________ is a mystery I would love to know the answer to.
2. __________________is the farthest I have ever been from home.
3. I’ve lost count of how many times _________.
4. _________ reminds me of _________.
My answers:
What happened to Joe Less is a mystery I would love to know the answer to. Back in the 1970’s several of my great aunts worked at a screen printing place and the owner of the company went missing. His car was found at an airport, but there were rumors his attorney was mobbed up and he was last seen with him.
2. Puerto Rico is the farthest I have ever been from home. That is where our honeymoon cruise departed from, actually one of the islands was probably further away.
3. I’ve lost count of how many times I have tried calling the vet to schedule Rosie’s now overdue rabies vaccine. My vet closed over a month ago due to a possible exposure of COVID and they still haven’t reopened. They should have only have been closed for 14 days.
4.  Marley on the blog, Mark’s Mews reminds me of my Sammy.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

And the winner of Emmy’s toy contest is Crystal of Crystal and Daisy Mae’s Photo Blogging Site.  Her guess of 45 toys was the closest to the actual answer of 47. I spread them out to take a photo which was not easy, Emmy kept getting on them.  In the photo, you can see 4 rows of 10 toys and 1 row of 7
Sorry, in the original photo the smaller toys were under the larger ones and she was on top of some.

    3. I’ve lost count of how many times I have played spider on the computer, I think I ma addicted to that card game, LOL!.
    4. Young Sheldon reminds me of a nurse I used to work with, Bwahahah!! When I point that our to those that knew her they laugh and have to agree. She has since gotten married and went to another job, and now has twins! I wonder if they look like Sheldon?? LOL!

    1. Thank you for your answers. I am sorry about your joints- a turmeric supplement may help. SOunds like you have been to a lot of nice places. How funny, I have Young Sheldon on right now- I love that show. XO

  2. Unanswered questions are annoying. Maybe Joe Less ended up wearing concrete boots.
We have sailed out of San Juan, Puerto Rico a few times. I would just like to be able to sail from anywhere now!

    1. I have a feeling that is what happened to him. I hope you can sail again soon. XO

  3. Your #1 answer reminded dad of one of his cars that went missing many many years ago. He was storing it in a garage at the airport up in Northampton and it just disappeared. Well, at least that’s the story the guy who leased the garage space gave him. Yep, said it just plain disappeared. After digging and investigating the damn thing was never found.

  4. You have to really wonder about your vet… also your great aunts’ employer.
47 toys… Emmy is hanging on to what is her collection of toys!
    My Fill-Ins..
    1. How to make my Mom’s butter cake is a mystery I would love to know the answer to. Mine never tastes the same.
    2. The Cayman Islands are the farthest I have ever been from home.
    3. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to think about what to make for dinner.
    4. Florida reminds me of happy memories of vacations with my Mom, Dad and my Godparents. My Godparents lived in Southern Florida.
Fun as always with the Fill-Ins… see you next Friday! Well, and before 🙂

    1. Thank you for these great answers, especially #4. Is there anyone in your family that might know about the butter cake? XO

        1. That is so sad. I am glad you have some of your mom’s other recipes though. XO

  5. My old woman says my brain is a mystery she’d like to know the answer to. She says she can’t fathom out my thought processes at all. (Don’t tell her, but I change my mind every few minutes just to keep her on her toes.)

  6. That’s a lot of toys. Congratulations on Crystal and Daisy Mae’s win.

Love your fill-ins. Yikes on the guy that went missing.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  7. Wow! 47 toys and Rosie is deserving of all of them. One of the vets in our area has curbside service for regular visits. They actually come to your car, however, we don’t care for this vet because they were too rough on Callie the last time we were there. So we are trying to find a new vet.

    1. Thank you. A lot around us have curbside, but I like that I can still go in to this one- I hope when they reopen I still can. Sorry yuor vet was rough on Callie. XO

  8. Meowser Ms. Ellen thank you for hosting this fun blog hop! I’m now wondering about that Joe Less, too.
    Purrseidon

  9. Wow, that’s a lot of toys and a lot of hoarding! Congrats to Crystal and Daisy May! Those are interesting answers, I would still wonder about that disappearance too! California is the farthest I’ve ever been from home. XO

  10. Emmy cracks me up. That’s a lot of toys! Your honeymoon trip sounds awesome. 🙂 Be well, stay safe, and I hope you get the rabies vaccine taken care of soon.

  11. A young girl went missing from a town north of us quite a few years ago, her car found abandoned. They have never figured out what happened to her, and I’ve always wondered about that (I can’t think of her name right now, but I’m sure you heard the story down there too).
Wow, you’ve been far! The farthest away I have been is Key West.

  12. What a mystery about the owner of the shop. A friend of ours was robbed by his partner who turned up two weeks later, dead, in the river in Rio de Janiero. The money and the secretary he’d run off with were never found.

Emmy is quite clever to keep so many toys, i will bet she knows every one, too,

Hope your vet opens soon or that you find one to take you just for now.

  13. rosie….be thanx ful for number three; & speekin oh threez… if yur mom doez get an a point mint; she shuld tell de vet ewe wanna three yeer ray beez…trooth 🙂 ♥♥

    1. Thank you. That is what she needs, a 3 year. Her first one last year had to be a one year, but for now on they are 3. 🙂 XO

  14. I hope Rosie gets her vaccination soon. Our vet still works, but of course there are many precautions because of Covid.
    Have a great weekend!

  15. Fantastic fill-ins, as always! I feel bad for the poor man named Joe Less, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that missing persons and other unsolved mysteries really intrigue me. Sometimes I wish I’d gone into forensics or some form of detective work, as those types of shows and cases pique my interest a great deal. Have a wonderful weekend!

  16. Oh my goodness! I hope the vet reopens for you. Our vet has been funky too when they closed due to Covid. They didn’t even call to tell us that they closed and we showed up for the appointment! Ugh. They did reschedule though so we’re all caught up now.Have a great weekend!

  17. That’s a lot of toys!!! Hope your vet opens soon. Maybe another vet would be willing to do the shot for you.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  18. Number one is a great mystery. Now I’m curious. There are a lot of unsolved crimes or four play like that. We had one for about 30 years when a little boy disappeared and his body was never found. Recently someone confessed but no one knows if he really did it.
TW was gonna say Puerto Rico was the farthest she’d been until she remembered California was farther away.
We thought you were going to say you were striking out trying to get the covid vaccine for you and hubby.

    1. Unsolved mysteries always bother me because that means a murderer is out there.
I haven’t even tried to get the vaccine because we are not eligible yet and those that are can’t even because of a shortage. XO

  19. Love the photos and the answers to the fill in’s. You sure have some great stories. Your photos are always so sweet to see. Happy weekend.

    1. Emmy is proud of her growing collection. I am glad the other kitties don’t mind if she won’t share these. XO
