Friendly Fill-Ins Week 217

Hi everyone! Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. The grossest food I ever ate was ___________________.
2. The best tasting food I ever had was _______________.
3. I should probably _________, but I won’t.
4. If I could have an unlimited supply of one item, I would pick _________.
My answers:
1. The grossest food I ever ate was lamb. I was at a friend’s grandmother’s house and didn’t want to offend her, so I ate it, but I didn’t like the taste or the idea of eating a lamb.
2. The best tasting food I ever had was macaroni and cheese at Michael Jordan’s restaurant.
3. I should probably start exercising, but I won’t. I am a sloth.
4. If I could have an unlimited supply of one item, I would pick cat food. Gotta keep the kitties happy.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

My flashback is from last June. Angel Sammy had his cone on to stop his scratching, but he was still willing to hold my hand. I miss my boy so much.

  1. Good answers, Ellen, I like to have lots of cat food around too! Precious picture of Angel Sammy, I know you miss him; I’m missing mine who are at the Bridge too. XO

  2. Well Teddy was our “filler-inner” this week but if I’d answered I would have said “lamb” to #1 too! I do not care for it at all! We miss your Sammy a whole lot too – he didn’t want to leave just as much as you didn’t want him to leave but he’s waiting for you – just like our Sammy is waiting for us.

    Hugs, Pam

  3. Lovely flashback with Angel Sammy.
The grossest thing I ever ate was a snail. We were on a cruise years ago and everyone was having the snail starter apart from me. I was persuaded to try one and it was like a lump of garlic flavoured gristle. Never again!!

  4. Good answers! For me, anything that has a slimy texture is gross! xo We’re always stocked up with cat food. Kitties need their food!

  5. Love the fill-ins today. I came up with so many gross things, but Split Pea soup topped the list.

Aw on Angel Sammy. I know he was your heart cat. So precious.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, El.

  6. Lamb Ummm I have heard it is an acquired taste…one that I will never have. Years AGO, probably early 1990’s, while still working we had a post doc from Switzerland. One day she told me wanted to serve lamb at a dinner party but she wasn’t able to find it in any of the grocery stores. That did not surprise me. I expect as our area has grown and welcomed more internationals you can buy it.
    Hugs Cecilia

  7. Since becoming a vegan, I haven’t had mac-and-cheese in decades, however at a vegan restaurant earlier this yeart, they offered a variety that was to die for.
    Yum!

  8. I tried lamb chops one time – never again – ugh!
and Yes to unlimited cat food! 🙂
Hope your Friday is going good! <3

  9. No lamb here either, Ellen. My Mom made lamb often, served with mint jelly. Makes me gag to think about it. I can’t leave macaroni and cheese alone, I am hooked on Metro Diners mac & cheese.
Angel Sammy♥ He was a very sweet boy.
    My Fill-Ins…
    1. The grossest food I ever ate was/is creamed herring for New Year’s.
    2. The best tasting food I ever had was cheese pizza at Ponza’s Pizzeria.
    3. I should probably shut down my computer and get some cleaning done today, but I won’t.
    4. If I could have an unlimited supply of one item, I would pick a sense of peace.
    Thank you Ellen!

    1. Thanks for these great answers. I wish there was a Metro Diner near us to try their mac and cheese. Great choice for #4. XO

  10. Mom always loved lamb chops as a child, but now she says they are way too expensive and there is so little meat on them. She enjoys a good lamb stew made with a lamb shank, but the lamb has to be American lamb. New Zealand lamb is very strong smelling and tasting.

  11. Excellent answers and we LOVE the photo of you and Sammy holding hands! Purrfect
No I, Marv shall answer the fill-ins here
    1. The grossest food I ever ate was Escargot. It smelled good but tasted like rubber!
    2. The best tasting food I ever had was Catnip flavored Cat treats.
    3. I should probably NOT throw all of the litter out of the box downstairs, but I won’t.
    4. If I could have an unlimited supply of one item, I would pick Mom skritiches. I don’t like it when she stops and will bite her hand.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 Most people say that about escargot. My cats like catnip treats too. Have a nice weekend. Xo

  12. I thought I was here for this? Thought I answered? I was wrong, I stopped by to see, XX

    1. Same here! lol On occasion I do enjoy escargot and lamb, and my homemade split pea soup is a favorite healthy indulgence here. ;P My heart aches over your loss of Sammy. ~hugs~

  13. Charlee: “We are totally on board with an unlimited supply of cat food.”
    Lulu: “So are we dogs!”
Chaplin: “Why? You don’t eat cat food.”
Lulu: “That doesn’t mean we don’t want to!”
