Friendly Fill-Ins Week 109

Hi everyone. Before we get to the fill-ins, we have some sad news. Joanie’s boyfriend, Simon of Toby’s Wrecking Crew left for The Rainbow Bridge. To visit his family, click here.

He asked her to be his girlfriend in March 2016. And she immediately meowed yes.

1. My favorite Disney character is ____________________.

2. If I could stay any age for life, I would choose to be age _________________.
3. _________ is my secret talent.

4. Life is like a _________.
My answers:
1. My favorite Disney character is Snow White. She has black hair like me and 7 male friends, that is one cool girl.
2. If I could stay any age for life, I would choose to be age 40. That is when I finally got comfortable being my quirky self and  stopped worrying what people think ( well, mostly).
3. Knowing how many jars I need for horseradish, jelly, pickles, etc. is my secret talent. I am almost always accurate when I get them set up to fill.
4. Life is like a garden, you reap what you sow. ( This is actually a quote from the author of The Alchemist, Paul Coelho).
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

  1. My human says she wishes she could have been 34 for the rest of her life – if that were possible, she would probably still be doing rock music journalism. It’s fun to pal around with band guys.

  2. I am so very sorry to hear about Simon. {{{Hugs}}}

40 was a freeing age for me, too. Someone once told me that once you turn 40, you don’t have to take anything off anybody, you don’t have to care what they think about you, etc. Well, I haven’t exactly gotten to the point of not caring what they think about me, but I’m getting there, and I am more likely now than ever to stand up for myself. It gets even more freeing after you hit the 50 mark. 🙂

I think that is a great quote. I love gardens.

    Have a blessed weekend.

    1. Thank you. Yes, after 40 one does seem to not care about what others think anymore.I hope you have a blessed weekend too. XO

  3. It is sad to hear about Simon.

It is always good to find our comfort zone where we learn that it isn’t what others think about us but what we think about ourselves that truly matters. Have a blessed week.

  4. Sorry that Joanie liost her boyfriend, Simon. That is sad. Purrs & Hugs

    1. My favorite Disney character is Bambi. I always enjoyed seeing him over and over again, though I like so many of them its really hard to pick just one.

    2. If I could stay any age for life, I would choose to be age 25. That was a ear after I started my second job, Idid that for almost ten years before geting married. I loved y carreer and my frineds and so on. Life was good then, I was young and strong…and though I don’t feel old, and Istill am pretty strong, there just is something about that young time in ones life, single, about to get a car(!), and almost carefree. But I am happy with my age now too…when I was 51, I got very ill, and even thought my life was going to be soon curtailed, but, no, God healed me and here I still am…hooray!! Every year added is a blessing.
    3. Daydreaming is my secret talent. MOL!
    4. Life is like a roller coaster, full of ups and downs, but the downs give the oomph needed to get up the hill to the next high. God and faith are the energy givers for that rollercoaster:)

    1. Joanie thanks you. Thank you for your answers, I enjoyed them. Bambi is a great choice. I am glad you recovered and I pray you have many more years. I agree that life is like a roller coaster. XO

  5. We are sorry to hear about Simon. Purrs to his family and to Joanie
While 28 was a fun time for mum, she says she is feeling more content now that she is Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ) MOL!

  6. Dear Joanie, so sorry for the passing of your boyfriend Simon – we read that on their blog and were so very sad to hear it. We know he will keep a close eye on you from the Bridge forever. Your Mom’s fill-ins were great today – knowing how many jars to get for all the wonderful food she makes from the garden goodies is truly quite a talent since she makes SO MUCH!

    Hugs, Teddy

  7. Ellen,

I’m sorry to read about Simon. 🙁

We picked the same age to stay forever and I like your answer describing life which is very true. Thanks for hosting the Friday fun. Have a good weekend, my friend!

  8. My condolences on the loss of Simon.

Being able to estimate how much space you need to store a certain amount of food is an art, especially when it comes to canning.

  9. I was very sorry to hear about Simon, and now Minchie too.
40 is a good age to be. I hated reaching 30, but 40 didn’t bother me at all. I dreaded 50 because that is the age my mum was when she died and I thought the same would happen to me.

    1. Thank you, we are sad about Minchie too. I am sorry your Mom passed away so young. XO

  10. So sad for Simon’s family. I like your fill-ins and am glad you’re like me and (mostly) comfortable in your own skin. I especially enjoyed my thirties. Be well!

  11. I’m so sorry to hear about Simon. That’s very sad.

Great fill-ins…hope you have a great weekend!

  12. Joanie, we’re sorry about Simon. 🙁

Our mom’s pick for age would be any time in her forties. That’s where her brain is, anyway, and she always gets a big shock to see her real-age self in the mirror!

  13. We are sending our purrs and prayers to Simon’s family, as well as to Minchie’s mom Peggy.

Your fill-ins are, as always, fantastic! I have heard many people say that they enjoyed their 40s. I don’t want to fast forward through time and miss out on anything, but now I’m intrigued to try 40 out myself. And your quote for #4 is so, so true. Happy Friday!

    1. Thank you, we are sad about Minchie. Enjoy the next 11 years, 40 will wait 🙂 XO

  14. So sorry about Simon. I hate it when they go to the bridge.

Snow White works too. What a fun question.

I see we both want to be 40. Nothing wrong with that.

Have a purrfect day and weekend, Ellen. ♥

  15. Sad news about Simon my best wishes to his family 🙁

It seems most have chosen 40 I would too come to that

    Have a fill-intastic weekend 🙂

  16. Joanie; we are sorry and we’ve sent our sympathies to Simon’s mom and family; we truly thought he would get 1000 purrcent better 🙁
    ♥♥♥♥

  17. I’m so sorry to hear about Simon. My sincere condolences to his family.
I love your fill-in answers. It’s great to feel comfortable with yourself. I’ve been happier since I accepted myself as I am 🙂 Love the quote by Paul Coelho.

  18. Katsu and I are very sorry to hear about dear Simon and our purrayers are with our dear furiend, Joanie.
We love your quote and think we need it on a sign in our nip patch.

    Purrseidon >^.^<

  19. We’re sorry to hear about Joanie’s boyfriend. We’re sending purrs.

Our mommy says she’s liking her current age so would like to stay at this point. We like that quote!

  20. Our heartfelt condolences to you and the humans over at Toby’s.
I don’t know that I can pick just one favorite Disney character – but the Siamese Cats and Thumper are at the top of the list!

  21. We were so sorry to hear about Joanie’s boyfriend Simon and we’re sending lots of prayers and purrs. We like the idea that life is like a garden, there’s always something beautiful to see and many things to explore in our garden.

  22. We’re so sad about Simon 🙁 I love Snow White too because of how she loved animals. I’m 40 and would like to turn the clock back 10 years LOL

  23. JOane, I didn’t know Simon. I wish I had. I am so sorry to see another of our furriends fly away to the Bridge. I have been over to visit his family. XXX

You mom and I both pick 40 as the age we would like to be and for the same type of reason.

    1. Thank you for visiting Simon;s family, we know his mom will appreciate it. XO

  24. We are so sorry to hear about Simon. Joanie, you have our softest pawhugs. And to your mom – #3 is a pretty awesome power. Good organizational skills are highly underrated.

  25. As always, your fill-ins are very interesting. My talent is somewhat like yours. I can look at leftovers and almost always choose the right size among my various plastic containers to fill perfectly. I would like to by 36 again. I had just bought my first (and only) house and was so excited about it.

  26. Gramma used to have a secret talent for knowing just what size jar she needed to store leftovers. TW wishes she could stay 30. She was going to clubs every night, touring with young R.E.M. and Winter Hours, writing for rock fanzines and having the time of her life. She thinks about those times often. I think she’s living in the past.

  27. I am so sorry to hear of Simon’s passing Joanie. I know it struck you especially hard. Kali and Phoebe will help him get settled.

Your fill-ins are terrific. I think most of us would say age 40 is the relaxing age.

    Hugs,

    Jean

  28. We’re so sorry for the loss of your boyfriend, Joanie.

40 was a huge crisis for me. 50 was much easier; I think I finally just accepted things and decided to have a lot more fun with it.

  29. Oh no Joanie….not onlee iss mee berry late mee did not know it was YUR Simon who joined Minchie inn Pure Land! Mee apawlogizess.
Mee sendss mee deepest sympaffiess to you deer gurl.
