Happy Monday everyone! Today is fun and games day and nothing is more fun for my cats than eating 🙂 And just like people, they get bored with the same foods so they were more than happy to review Wellness trufood Tasty Pairings With Pumpkin, Beef & Salmon.

005006It is grain free and made with high quality ingredients.Pumpkin is good for digestion too.  I was shocked when I read that you should feed 4.5 containers daily for 6-8 pound of body weight. Even on sale, I couldn’t afford to feed this alone to my cats- I wouldn’t have enough time in a day to open them all either.

KaTwo won’t touch wet food and Joanie always vomits when she has canned food so I tested on 12 cats. 10 out of 12 liked it so I guess you could say it was a hit.   1. Wow, imagine if meowmy had to feed that many cans to Minko each day…its hard enough to get 3 cans into him…

      1. It used to take ages and ages…but not too much now…meowmy says her technique is getting better, OMC.

        Now she needs to teach the unfurbro and pawppy how to do it, that is a daunting task, cause they have to practice on a live model, namely Minko. He seems to sense their ineptness, but meowmy just tells them to purrsevere and they should be able to learn how to do it well also.

        1. I hope Minko will accept the food from them so you can go away and enjoy your Aunt’s birthday without worrying.

          1. Ditto at this end…its a shame there are not more places to take care of kitties needing to be boarded, it seems peeps just leave them unattended, OMC;((
            I got out the yellow pages and searched…too bad I am not i a position to offer this service here in my home. Seems a lot of furs could benenfir=t!

          2. Many of the vet techs and receptionists at the vet we go to will go to the house and watch your pets for a reasonable price. The vet boards, but I don’t like that no one is there all night.

  2. Sometimes I think I have a cat restaurant. One only eats dry food the other only canned food, one likes this brand the other another. But they have all one thing in common, they don’t like to change !

  3. Mom calls me “Mr. Picky Pants” when it comes to trying new food. I just look at her like she’s nuts when she tries anything new out on me. I say that’s not being “picky”, it’s being “discerning” !! Anyway, maybe we’ll give this a whirl. If 10 out of 12 of you liked it – maybe I will too!

  4. 10 out of 12 is a good result! My mum says I am picky too, and it is hard for her to get me to eat enough. I should have 4 tins of food a day but sometimes only eat 2. She lets me have lots of treats which she calls my junk food diet because I will often eat proper food after.

  6. The mom once read the feeding instructions on a can of food and couldn’t believe how much they said we should be fed. If we ate that much, we’d be big as elephants! MOL! This food looks pretty good. Maybe the mom should pick some up for us to see if we’d like it.

  8. The recommendations for amount to food to feed cats on labels are always way more than seems reasonable. Our cats would be walking around with their tummies dragging on the floor.
    We love Chewy’s – and those eyeballs are so funny!

  9. Ten out of 12 cats is really good! Carmine and Milita wouldn’t eat it the first time I tried to feed it to them, but I am going to try and see if they’ll eat it soon. I don’t know why they wouldn’t like it – it smelled good to me, MOL!

    1. I don’t often read the recommendations on cans of food- probably a good thing or my cats would be even plumper. 🙂

    I have picky eaters so sometimes they will and sometimes they won’t eat anything new and different.

  15. Dat’s pawsum. Glad so many liked it and got sum yummy punkin noms. Weez know they recommend feedin’ an ungodly amount, but even da likes of us at large 30 pound kitties don’t eat dat much. We don;t knmow where all these companies get their feeding guidelines fwum cuz cats rarely eat da recommended amount. We fink they be in league wiff da money gwubbin’ VETs to make all anipals over weight so they will have to by more spensive foods to lose weight or take medicines fur diseases caused by bein’ over weight. Just sayin’. MOL

  16. We are reviewing this food too, and had mixed opinions about it. I like the idea but wish they didn’t have the pumpkin on top.

  19. Levon, like Joanie, also vomits some times when eating canned food. I wonder what is up with that? We have tried Wellness in the past and some kitties like it, some don’t 🙂 4.5 containers per cat sounds like a recipe for a big cat and small bank account!

    1. That is odd that they can’t hold down canned food. Yes, my bank account couldn’t handle that many cans per cat 🙂

  20. No way should a cat eat 4.5 of those. I’ve always heard 1 oz per cat lb or something like that. I get 7 oz of food per day and eat about 4 of it although the end of last week I ate about 5 oz. I’m gonna review those next week.

  21. Glad most of your kitties enjoyed it. Maybe it would make a good treat. Many feeding recommendations for dogs are based on working dogs, and it’s way too much for the typical house pet. I’m not sure what they base cat food recommendations. Raven works very hard at sleeping, but that’s about it.

    1. Food is very expensive- the healthier it is, the more expensive it is- just like people food.
