Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and The Pet Parade.

I used Sammy photo with the card he made for me at Cat Scouts -Lunapic’s Candy Effect

My vet is still closed, it has been 2 months. I couldn’t make Sammy wait any longer ad his rash looked painful. There is a vet in my town that used to be holistic, but is now a regular vet and they had an appointment Thursday so I brought him there. I had to wait in the car which was unsettling being that i had never met anyone there, but they were nice. Sammy got an antibiotic shot plus an antibacterial spray. His thyroid is off again too so his dose has been increased. I was happy to hear that because he had lost weight and that is an easy fix.

By the way, I have nothing against holistic in addition to regular meds.

  4. Oh, we sure hope Sammy does okay with his meds, no matter what kind of care he’s getting. Stay warm, and try to enjoy your weekend.

  5. Not being able to get into the Vet’s office with Katie is a hard thing. I know what you mean. And mine was closed for a month or so too and the have enforced the pet parents can’t come in rule for a year.

    1. That is a long time. My vet should have only been closed for 2 weeks not 2 months- something is up. XO

  12. Nice post. Glad Sammy got to the vet. It’s hard to wait in the car and go over your cat’s needs with a vet over the phone or in a parking lot. Sounds like Sammy is on the mend. And you got to check out a new vet.

  16. Glad Sammy got to see the vet! We don’t like that we cannot go in with our Pawrents but we do what we gotta do, I guess. We can understand it’s double scary when you never met that vet before. Have a Happy Caturday!

    Charlee: “It’s the same here with the sitting in the car at the vet. They come out to get us and bring us in to look at us and then they call Mama or Dada to discuss things.”
    Chaplin: “We’re sure glad Dennis isn’t around for this. Can you imagine what would have happened if the vet came and tried to take him out of the car without Mama and Dada coming with him?”
    Charlee: “Yes I can, and the term ‘apocalypse’ comes to mind.”

  18. That is some really nice Art of Sammy. So glad he is alright. I think I need my thyroid checked as I am losing weight. Toby is on his meds and looks like he is 4 years old. Panfurs are like that

  19. We are so furry happy that Sammy got to see a vet. When we had to take Nellie to a different vet in Vancouver, we liked the new one so much we changed vets! Thanks for mentioning about the Thyroid, Kozmo has lost quite a bit of weight in the last couple of months and I am thinking I should take him in and get his checked. You are AWESOME!   20. I’m glad you were able to get Sammy looked at, and that it went well. It’s difficult enough going to a new vet, without the added stress of not being able to go in. I wish we had a holistic vet around here, or one that did a combination of holistic and traditional medicine, even better.

  25. I’m glad you were able to get Sammy taken care of. I hope he starts improving soon. I’m surprised your vet is still closed. Mine has been open for a few months now. The only thing is we have to wait in the car and not in the lobby until they are ready for us which is fine. They have all the safety precautions in place – mask, handwashing, etc. Anyway, glad you were able to be seen.

  31. It’s unnerving to be outside, while our beloved cats are inside! Sweetie is a purrfect lady, they say…but she turns into a demon when I try to slip those meds into her!
    Purring that Sammy’s rash disappears soon!

    Miss Ellen mee can tell you LadyMew was not so guud lettin mee go inn to Vet’ss without her eether! Our Taxi driver keeped her busy tho’, so shee was calm when mee came out to her….
