ROAR for Texas Kitties

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day, but first I will give you a Spooky update. Unfortunately, the vet I wanted is on vacation so I left a message with another vet that had dealt with Spooky in the past. She called back when I wasn’t here and my hubby took the call. All I got out of him was that she didn’t think he could have that. I guess I have to wait until next week to check with the other vet. Thank you all for your input and suggested links yesterday. I am going to print some of that out to back my theory when I call back. Also thanks for the purrs and prayers.

Now on to the ROAR-as most of you know, Texas has been getting a lot of rain and floods which has displaced many families and pets. Miss Sneakers of The Opinionated Pussycat has made a list of several shelters that are helping these pets and are in need of help: http://www.opinionatedpussycat.com/2015/05/fnn-special-repurrt-the-texas-floods-of-memorial-day-2015.html . Each one has many ways listed on their website to help. The first one I clicked on was Hill County Paw Pals and they are connected to Amazon Smile. Whenever I use Amazon, I go through Amazon Smile and the next time I do, I will make sure they get the donation.

Be sure to visit Phoebe tomorrow, she had me crochet a big fish that would be great for bunny kicking and she plans to have a giveaway.

  1. Keep pestering until they let you get some treatment, that’s what I did for Minko and he improved after only a couple of days on the meds.

I wonder now, did those harsh to a kitty antibiotics get him into the current issues?? Who knows…maybe the lime has returned, or his poor little insides are all messed up…

    1. Poor Minko, I don’t think the antibiotics would have done that, but as you said, who knows. I do hope you can get Minko to eat on his own.

  2. Oh I hope you can talk to that other vet about Spooky…….Thanks too for the info on the Texas shelters that need help…….this reminds me a lot of New Orleans after that awful flooding…so many that need so much help. The SUPER FISH sounds intriguing – can’t wait to see it finished !!

    Hugs, Sammy

    1. I wasn’t into blogging back then, but I saw on the news about all the poor displaced pets in New Orleans. You will like this fish, even if you aren’t into nip.

    1. That is great, I do too, but I am going to use it for a TX one next time just to help a little.

  6. We hope Spooky is doing okay… we’ll have to go find the original post about that to catch up on what’s going on. Sorry to hear he isn’t feeling well.
So sad about the families and pets being affected by flooding! Thanks for sharing about them.

    1. Thank you. Spooky wasn’t eating well and had an upset tummy. A lot of my kitties were too though so it may have been the food. He does have a hyperthyroid too. He also had a broken tooth and needs a dental next week. His blood was good, but he had protein in his urine- he had a rough life outdoors until we adopted him in 2013, he is 15 or 16. That is the abbreviated version 🙂

  7. I am still purring for Spooky and hope you can get better service from your own vet next week.

  8. Hi there! This is my first time here, so I don’t know the story about Spooky, but I do hope you can get some answers soon. We don’t like sick Spooky’s. 🙁 Also, thanks for the heads up about the Texas situation and misplaced pets. That must be so confusing for the poor animals. I feel bad for them. All the best to you! I’m going to have a look on your site now. 🙂

    1. Thank you for visiting. I hope you like this blog as much as I like yours.

    1. I will call your Mum tomorrow, but it will be afternoon because my Mom and I are going to pick my niece up at the airport- long story. Spooky is pretty good, but I want him to be as healthy as he can be at his age ( 15 or 16) and lyme is taken care of with an antibiotic. Phoebe sends her love to her purrince XO. Paw and nose kisses too.

    1. Thank you 🙂 I just had to share your link, you did a great job making that list.

  10. So sad about all the flooding and displacement of people and animals. Thanks for spreading the word. Mom uses Amazon Smile as well as iGive for purchases other than Amazon. We received your package yesterday but mom hasn’t let us open it yet! What’s up with that?
