Cat-Eye Witness

Friday again already. Phoebe still doesn’t have much of an appetitte and we are waiting for the bloodwork results. Thank you all for your purrs and prayers. The vet didn’t seem too worried, but I can’t help but worry. 006

Lucy and I are reviewing a book that I won from Cat Chat with Caren and Cody ( http://www.catchatwithcarenandcody.com/ ). I was the lucky winner of Cat-Eye Witness by Patricia Fry. It is the second in a series of several books, but I easily got caught up even though I didn’t read the first one. I do wish I had read the first one first because now I know the ending. 026

This was an easy read that starts at a fundraiser for horses. The money ends up missing and someone is found murdered at the home where the fundraiser is held. The only witness was Rags, the cat. I really enjoyed the characters as most are likeable, especially Rags. If you like mysteries then you will love this book. I am not a big fan of fiction, but I really got into this. I do recommend that you read the first book, Catnapped before you read this. They are all available on Amazon and are free if you have Kindle Unlimited. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ntt_athr_dp_sr_1?_encoding=UTF8&field-author=Patricia%20Fry&search-alias=digital-text&sort=relevancerank .

Hope you all have a nice weekend. I will keep you posted on Phoebe.

  1. We’ll be purring for pretty Phoebe and keeping our paws crossed.
Concats on your book win. If you’re like our Mommy, it’s like winning the lottery.
    MOL! (she loves books!)

    1. Yes, I am like your Mommy- I love books 🙂 Tell your Mom to go on Goodreads and enter to win those, I win books all the times from them. Thank you for purring for Phoebe.

  2. Hoping Phoebe is going to be just fine…….I go through “don’t wanna eat” periods once in a while OR eating and throwing it right back up again…….my thyroid thingie probably! I had a feeling that book would be a goodie – Mom added that author to her “look for at the used book store” list!

    Happy Friday
    Sammy

    1. That must scare your Mom when you go through that. I wish your Mom would write a sequel to David’s Bridge.

    1. Thank you- bloodwork was perfect 🙂 And she ate a small breakfast and a bigger lunch and lots of snacks 🙂

    1. She is eating again and the bloodwork was great- don’t know what the problem was. Thanks for thinking of Phoebe.

  3. Here’s keeping everything crossed for Phoebe!!

The Staff has downloaded the first in that series, because like you she always likes to read the first book first MOL

    1. That was smart- I should have done that too onmy Kindle. Thanks for crossing your paws- you can uncross now- she is eating and the blood was good. Thank you.

    1. Books with kitties are the best 🙂 I prefer true stories, but as long as there is a cat in it, I will read some fiction.

  4. Phoebe….even MOR blessings oh St Francis headed yur way….we hope by de time ewe reed this ya haz eaten 93 perch samiches…..purrhaps yur mom can ask de vet about a B12 injectionz ta jump start yur appetite…

    ( yea…we iz fish freekz !! )

    1. Thank you for the St. Francis Blessings, they helped- she is eating and her bloodwork was good 🙂

    1. I will pray for Minko and all the kitties will purr. I hope he is OK- did he go to the vet yet? That is funny that Mom won the 3rd book.

      1. Thank mew.
He went to the vet in November, and again in December fur a teeth cleaning. Labs showed purrhaps that he has pancreatitis, but he only woofs his cookies when his stomach is empty…and not that much anymore. He will come begging fur food, but not eat it when it comes,so meowmy can’t just stand by and watch him starve, so she puts the food in his mouth; no protesting by Minko, he will eat 2 or 3 three ounce cans a day. Wont touch the prescription noms at all. Sometimes he may eat a bit or two on his own…another thought that meowmy has is maybe he has hyperthyroid, so next vet check will be asking about that.

        1. That is a good idea to check the thyroid. You may also want to try 1/4 of a 10 mg. tablet of Pepcid AC, although I tried that on Phoebe and it didn’t work.

  5. Sounds like a cute series! We like a good mystery. Hope Phoebe gets to feeling better! We will be on the lookout for news about her bloodwork. Sending lots of purrs and prayers!

    1. She is eating and blood was great- thank you for the purrs and prayers, they worked.

  6. Weez purrayin’ hawd fur Phoebe. Sorry hers not eatin’. Mommy sure unnewstands da worryin’ eeven tho’ da Vet dusn’t. Mommy sez dat Vets hav too many patients to worry over all of us. And dat as a mommy yous know better when to worry than da Vet anyways. Maybe she wuld eat a butter spoon. At least she wuld get sum fat in her.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Lexi

    1. I actually tried the butter spoon yesterday and she didn’t want it. I bet she would today though, but she is eating her regular food and lots of treats ( probably too many 🙂 ) Thanks for the prayers- they work.

  7. That sounds like a good book. I am purring for Phoebe to get her appetite back.
I am very erratic with my eating. Sometimes I will eat 5 small tins in 24 hours which is what I need to stop losing more weight or even maybe to put a little bit on, but then I go 2 or 3 days when I don’t want to eat and will maybe eat just 1 tin and then I lose more weight.

    1. I hope your new meds will help you gain some weight Flynn. Phoebe is back to normal today- I don’t know what caused her to not want to eat and to vomit.

  8. Phoebe, I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well. I sure hope you’ll start eating and have a good report from the vet.

I’m off to look that book series up.

  9. Congrats on winning the book. Bet you were thrilled 🙂 It sounds as though Phoebe is feeling better and eating now. Good girl Phoebe! Keep it up… otherwise your Mama will be worried and that’s no fun! 🙂

  10. We’re purring it’s nothing serious with Phoebe. A few months ago, I went through something similar. I didn’t feel like eating. Everything seemed to check out okay….bloods, etc. The vet gave me a B12 shot and I took an appetite stimulant and I started eating good again. ~Ernie

    1. Phoebe had the B12, fluids and anti-nausea meds. She was back to herself today, I wish you kitties could tell us what is wrong so we could help you.

    1. Loved the book and the author is doing a guest post for us next week. Phoebe is back to normal- thank you for the prayers.
