Awww….Monday

Hi everyone. Grammie is still in the hospital. We don’t know why they even moved her when they decided to wait until Monday for the endoscopy. It could have been done in the original hospital on a weekday. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers.

Dusty is posing with a book that I am currently reading. The Bookshop: A History of the American Bookstore by Evan Friss is really interesting. I knew Ben Franklin did a lot, but never realized he started the first bookstore. I also learned that books used to be available to rent for 3 cents. An interesting read for anyone who loves bookstores.

  1. Sorry they’re keeping your Mom in the hospital! Medical places sure can be puzzling these days! Hopefully they will find something, and treat it quickly! Cute picture of Dusty, and the book does sound interesting. I didn’t know that about Ben Franklin. XO

  2. Dearest Ellen,
It is always hard to understand the reasoning of a hospital for treating their patients the way they decide!
Hoping soon you find out more and will have her home with all of you.
Dusty poses well with your book.
    Hugs,

  3. There has to be a start to everything. I just never realized who started the first book store in the USA. Purrs for a good result from the hospital.

  4. This hospital hopping must be so frustrating both for your Mom and for you as well. Its much harder to visit when it’s that far away. Having said that, maybe they have more advanced endoscopy equipment there…who knows!

That must be an intriguing book. Maybe Dusty might want to give it a read, too, LOL!

  5. Love the bookstore book! And I am sure the hospital is doing its routine for a good reason. Love and hugs to Grammy and a short healing. There is good treatment for what they say she has.

  6. We are sending a pile of POTP for Grammie and hope she’s better VERY VERY soon……My Dad loves the used book store – you can trade in old books and get another batch of books to read for FREE!

    Hugs, Teddy

  7. We hope your Grammie’s doing better, and I’m sure the hospital situation is frustrating. Dad says he could get lost forever in a used book store. Or a library, too. In a switch, mom went this time to load up at a bigger, better library near us since dad’s been real busy. Dad was excited with the variety she brought home as she paid special attention to his love of creepy stories.

  8. Well I certainly hope that they find something today. Why in the world hospitals do this to us I guess maybe they’re just understaffed. And Franklin was an amazing man but I did not know about the bookstore. Prayers are with your whole family.

  9. I am so sorry to hear that Grammie is still in the hospital. It seems the medical system is not what it should be. Dusty posing with the book is adorable.

  10. Looking for Grammie to come home today! Just want her to come home for Thanksgiving.
Dusty just loves to be in pictures… and with you!

  11. Maybe you will be able to speak to a Hospitalist and get the full story on your Mom. They are generally the ones who are in charge of the patient’s care. How frustrating but maybe today, the procedure will be done and treatment started. xo

  12. Ellen, I was sorry to hear about your Mother! Wowzers! Loads of purayers are coming your way from us! And we KNOW how good cats are for the recovery process. Us (and the Nutmeg) have been #1 at helping our Mom get better. We send EVEYONE our love and purrayers at your house! Keep being awesome! Marvelous Marv

  14. Prayers for Grammie.

Sounds like a great read. I love a good bookstore and there aren’t many around anymore.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

  15. Prayers are still ongoing for Grammie.

Dusty is beautiful and a history of bookstores would be a good read.

  16. Sorry Grammie is still in the hospital. Hope she’s home soon. Cute photo and sounds like an interesting book.

  17. Charlee: “Books for rent! What will they think of next!”
Oona: “Oona could just sneak in and steal them. LIKE A NINJA.”
Chaplin: “We’re sorry to hear Grammie is still in the hospital. It sure seems silly to move her so they could do the procedure and then not do the procedure.”
Charlee: “Humans! Who knows why they do things sometimes.”
Chaplin: “We send lots of purrs that she can get out of there and come to your house soon for Rudy and the rest of you to take care of her.”
Lulu: “And we dogs send lots of tail wags!”
