Sunday Selfie

Hi everyone. Thank you for the continued prayers for my mom (Grammie).Β  They had to move her to the larger hospital in the city (35 minutes away) so they can do her endoscopy on Sunday.Β  They think she has a bleeding ulcer in her stomach. Once they get it under control, she can come home with us in a couple days.

Rudy is planning on being Grammie’s 24/7 nurse when she gets here.

Three of our Christmas (or Thanksgiving) cactus are in bloom.

I will catch up with comments soon. I have been trying to keep up with visiting, but if I missed you, I will catch up soon.

  1. You did not miss us but we ALWAYS miss YOU, and Rudy, you would make anyone feel better! Oh, to snuggle you in this cold weather. Grammy will get better.

  2. We’re sending more hopes and purrs for your Mom’s procedure to go well, Ellen, and for her to be home soon! Rudy looks well prepared to be her nurse! Beautiful Christmas cactus XO

  3. Ellen, I’m sorry I missed the post that must have said your mother was sick and in the hospital. She has my prayers. And comments on anything by you aren’t necessary as we know you love your mother and must take care of her.

  4. I am sending extra prayers and hugs for Grammie and Rudy will be a cuddly and comforting nurse. Your Christmas cacti are beautiful and festive.

  5. Glad they’ve figured out a proper diagnosis for your Grammie – no doubt when she gets to come to your house all of you will take turns helping her feel better with Rudy being the #1 “Carer”. We are sending tons of POTP to Grammie and hope that all of you can have a happy Thanksgiving knowing she’s in the best possible “post hospital” recovery situation there could possibly be!!!!!

    Hugs, Teddy

  6. Rudy! You’ll be perfect! And I am amazed that you and your sisters and brofurs will leave the cactus alone. Mom came home from a few midnight shifts to find hers…well…re-arranged.
I can’t wait for your Grammie to get to the big hospital and get the endoscopy. Mommy’s big brother had a bleeding ulcer and our Dad seemed to about live at the hospital. But Paul was out in no time once it was discovered and a treatment plan begun. XXOO Love to your Grammie.

    1. Thank you. We are not allowed in the diningroom where the plants are kept. We will tell Grammie. XO

  7. Grammie will have a darling ginger Rudy to make her feel better. I am sure getting back to the Meowing Crew’s home will make her feel much better. Hope she gets out of the hospital quickly now that they have the problem solved. Sending more prayers that all goes smoothly and you can enjoy Thanksgiving all together!

    1. Thank you. They are taking their time dealing with the problem- so frustrating. Thank you for the prayers. XO

  8. No requirements to catch up, friend, just pick up when you get back and know you are loved and so is your whole family. Grammie continues to be in my prayers.

  9. Rudy, you will be an excellent nurse for Grammie when she comes home from the hospital. IN the meantime, we are keeping up the purrs and prayers for her.

  10. I hope that endoscopy will help to diagnose the issue so it can be well treated. Too bad they can’t do that at your local hospital. Or have them sent out and returned afterwards. That’s what they did with my dad years ago…
Rudy will be an excellent nurse. I work with several nurse men, and they re all amazing peeps. It’s no longer a ladies only career!

    1. Thank you. That is what they told us they would do first, but they lied and then said she needed to be admitted there. XO

  11. Charlee: “We are sorry to hear that Grammy was still feeling poorly on Sunday and had to be transferred farther away.”
Chaplin: “We know Rudy is going to take excellent care of her once she is there.”
Charlee: “Now we are off to check Monday’s post in hopes of good news!”
