Hi everyone! Thank you to everyone who gave me some ideas for the A-Z challenge, they are greatly appreciated. I will try to find a pattern for kitty underwear-thank you Summer π
We are joining McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks, Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays, Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? and Curious as a Cathy’s Mewsic Moves Me blog hops. We love to hop!
Β We just finished Lessons from Stanley the Cat by Jennifer Freed. Psychotherapist, Jennifer Freed writes about lessons she learned from her beloved cat, Stanley. This book was published in 2010 so you can get a cheap used copy on Amazon. My Spark is one of his lessons, “Do not let any bad comments or derision bother you. Consider negativity as passing gas.” Very wise advice.
This week’s mewsic theme is your favorite love songs so here are mine:
I have never seen a Twilight movie, but I love this song.
Lessons from Stanley the cat sound pretty good. π
It is a fun little book π
Oh Miss Ellen, that “Consider negativity as passing gas” is definitely a good tip! The world of humans can be full of negativity, especially in this crazy one filled with “computers.” Hugs!
Very true π XO
Love that saying about negative comments. Way to tread it!
Thank you π
For the moment I read my own blog since 2007 ! That’s sometimes rather funny. I also noticed that my English had improved !
Kim is not on the pictures, she was away and then she spends the days always in the same position ! I could copy and paste the same picture each week. Maybe she will put her tail on the right side instead of the left.
That must be a fun look back. I have some cats that don’t move much too.
Stanley was one very wise kitty! Love that quote……!!! Happy Monday – it’s good day to read another book I think…….cold and cozy.
Love, Teddy and Mom too
Thank you. XO and love to you both
That sure sounds like a good book and the songs are great too. Lots of good stuff today. Have a super Monday.
Thank you. XO

Thank you π
You and Gremmie are such a cute pair of models, Joanie. Now, this is the Spark of all Sparks! And I also found myself drawn to this song by Christna Perri when I first heard it a couple years ago, though I have never read nor watched anything related to Twilight. Happy Monday!
Joanie thanks you π Happy Monday! XO
Having trouble commenting on your blog ~ so here I am again ~ Neat post ~ love your kitty photo ~ soooo smart ~
Happy Week to you,

Sorry you had troubles, thank you for trying again π I hope you have a nice week too!
Oh my gosh, I love the song from Christina Perri and the one from the Wedding Singer. I’ve seen that movie a few times and always enjoy it!
“Consider negativity as passing gas” That is so good. And so funny!
Glad you liked my music choices and my spark π
Oh yes, felines really aren’t hung up on what other people think.
Very true π
Ellen,
Don’t worry if you haven’t seen any of the Twilight movies. I streamed them last year and by the time I finished the series I thought, “WOW, so over-rated!” The only movies that I really care anything about was the last one. I so enjoyed your beautiful choices for this week’s theme and love songs definitely are wonderful “Sparks” of encouragement for us all. Thanks for sharing & for joining the 4M gang on the dance floor, my friend! π
Glad I didn’t miss much with Twilight- vampires scare me.
I am enjoying the Mewsic hop π XO
Great spark of Stanley, miss Ellen, seems like a very intelligent kitty π Loved the songs too π Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead π <3
Thank you. XO
The book sounds very interesting. I believe we can relate a lot as we learn so much from our kitties π Consider negativity as passing gas – this is so wise!

Oh, that’s awesome advice! I’m busy reading “Weak as a Kitten” from my short story series. Besides polishing it needs a midway scene and a proper ending. ~grin~ Be well!
I hope you will share your stories with your readers.
Sometimes a negative comment can really rock your world. Thanks for the sage advice. Stanley seems to be a real smart cookie!

Mom’s reading James Patterson “The people vs Alex Cross”
MOL! π James Patterson is a good writer.
I haven’t seen any of the Twilight movies (or read the books) either. Come see what I’m reading this week.
I don’t plan to either, vampires scare me.
Stanley is a great name for a cat! I’m listening to “At The Water’s Edge” by Sara Grue, and I have no idea where the story is going to next…and I like that!
That sounds like an interesting story.
We love your spark ! Very wise advice ! Purrs
Thank you π XO
I love the “Wedding Singer” movie and songs!
Come by if you get a chance.

Me too π
That Spark is great! Next time someone says something negative around me or about me, i’m going to laugh to myself and think, someone just passed gas!
That is the best things to do. I hope no one says anything negative to you though π
I don’t think I have that book! Thanks for the heads up π
You will like it. π
Stanley sounds like a wise one!
He was.
Negativity as passing gas–love it!! My cats must have a lot of negativity!
MOl! π

Haha, smart cat. Have a great week!
Thank you. You too π
We like your spark plus it made us giggle! We’ve been reading tax documents and will for another two months. Blech.
You are the smartest CPA kitties ever π
Pop has lots of that gas to share when I get a bad comment. MOL! Whoa! We never heard any of those songs.
I thought TW knew all about music.
TBT here: That first video was so beautiful I couldn’t watch the others immediately. But I’ll be back for them later…
lad you liked it.
Okay, don’t laugh, but I have never seen the Wedding Singer and I just watched the video and now I’m going to go watch that movie if I can find it on You Tube & I bet I can. hehehe~ Great pickin’s here my friend!!! Thanks for playin along with us!
I m glad you liked the video and I hope you get to see the movie, I love it.
I did an A-Z challenge a few times. It can be very daunting to come up with something for every letter! I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy the challenge. I love the song, Thousand Years, and could hum it all day long!
Thank you, it is a challenge, but fun π
“Consider negativity as passing gas”… what a great thought, it made me laugh! And… I will remember it the next time someone is being negative because that surely is what their comments are like, a bunch of hot, smelly air! π
I do not see your link on the Sparks Linky thing, so I missed it yesterday. Am I just missing it, or is it not there? <3
Thank you, I thought it was there, I will check. π XO
You’re not missing much with those movies… I’ll have to look at that Stanley book. I just finished one called All the Wrong Todays and enjoyed it.
I will have to look for that one.
Very practical advice. A sense of humour is important. Thank you. HUGS!

You’re welcome π XO
Well that is certainly a different approach to dealing with “negative” thoughts.
Yes, a fun one π
Hi Ellen,
Hope you had a fabulous Valentine’s Day. Seems like forever ago already for some reason and hard to believe the week has already come to an end.
Great post here. Thanks for sharing the book “Lessons from Stanley the Cat” — sounds like a great book and I’d definitely like to give it a read. Love the negativity quote: “Consider negativity as passing gas.” Words to live by for sure! Is that your cat in the photo? Cute!
Thanks also for the introduction to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. I wasn’t familiar with her and really enjoyed the song.
I never saw “The Wedding Singer” movie either. I’ll have to see if I can catch it on Netflix.
enjoy your weekend,
Michele at Angels Bark
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the song choices and the book one π
Love your song choices! It’s been eons since I’ve seen The Wedding Singer – now I’m jonesin’ to see it again because of that song. π
Thank you, I haven’t seen it in years either and I want to see it too. π
good book, good songs!
Thank you π
I wish I had more time to read…
I am sorry you don’t π
