Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! Phoebe thanks you all for the Gotcha Day wishes yesterday. We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. I used Lunapic’s VanGogh effect on Phoebe’s photo to create this work of art.

I am also joining Ten Things of Thankful’s Blog Hop too. And here are my 10 thankfuls for the week.

  1. I am thankful for the past 14 years with sweet Phoebe, she is truly the sweetest.
  2. I found big containers of Party Mix on clearance for $3.99 ( they are good until 2018).
  3. For calming collars- without them My Sammy would go after poor Brody constantly.
  4. The first blueberries of the season from the garden.
  5. The weather cooled off today, the high was only 64 degrees- wonderful 🙂
  6. I got to see my great-niece 3 days this week.
  7. My great-niece is picking up words faster by the day.
  8. My hubby is a wonderful cat Daddy and caters to Phoebe’s every whim including drinks from the sink at all hours of the night.
  9. My niece getting back from her business trip safely ( I worry when loved ones need to go on airplanes).
  10. Naps.

PS: There is a badge for Ten Things of Thankful, but it won’t save for me. 🙁

  1. That is a great thankful list, Ellen. I sure wish it would be 64 degrees here. I’d like it if it were 64 degrees all the time. Anything beats what feels like 164 degrees. haha

How blessed you are to have had Phoebe for so many years. She is a beautiful kitty. That Lunapic art of her is great. I love to play with my pics in the photo apps, too. 🙂

    Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Thank you. I would be happy if it were 50 degrees year round 🙂 I am blessed to have Phoebe for so long and I pray I have her a lot longer. I hope you have a blessed weekend too.

  3. The art portrait is beautiful! I love how her nose turned out! You have such a great list of thankfuls too…..especially 64 degrees and garden blueberries! YAY!

    Love, Teddy

  4. I love your list. I got to thinking that when Katie is on my lap…want to or not, a nap ensues. Se is so warm and soothing and purrs. That’s enough to send anyone’s eyelids lowering and a nap right behind that.

64? Oh my!!! Those days are long gone here.

  5. We love your art, Phoebe! Those colors look purrfect on you. And what a wonderful list of thankfuls. I love that Phoebe has your husband wrapped around her little paw. That is so sweet. Purrs!

  6. What a wonderfully great list. We all need to be thankful everyday. We love your portrait today Phoebe. You are very lovely in ginger and aqua. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

  7. No mention of Grammie? How unusual. Just saying.

      1. She i=doesn’t have a blog, she is just a wonderful person that reads cat blogs 🙂

          1. I am glad she was able to find her and thank her, she is a wonderful person and so is your Mum! XO

    1. That is wonderful, Lorianne is a sweetie and Mom to The Four-Legged Furballs. I am lucky my folks cater to my every whim. Sometimes I just like to meow to make sure they will get up for me ( hee-hee). XO and all my love

  10. Yes, I did use Lunapics VanGogh … I love Van Gogh so that is the first thinig I try when I go to Lunipics and I rarely need to go any further. Our cats do look lovely in his colors 🙂 Love your ten things to be thankful for. I note that you keep your thankfulness close to home as the further out you go from home, the harder it is to find things to be thankful for. I like your choices 🙂

    1. Thank you. I like Van Gogh too. Yes, it is harder to find things outside my small circle that I am thankful for.

  11. So many wonderful things to be thankful for 🙂
We wish Phoebe a belated Happy Gotcha day too !
She looks good in Van Gogh.

  12. Phoebe, eu li a tua história e fico feliz que você foi adotada por alguém que teve “amor a primeira vista ” por você, mas quem consegue resistir um ronronar?
    Cafunés para você, Phoebe !

    1. Thank you. We got the Party Mix at the grocery store, Stop and Shop. It says discontinued, it is a fish flavor.

  13. Excellent Grat List!
I always enjoy lists that are grounded in (the writer’s) real life, yet are engaging enough to allow us (the readers) identify with some or all.
…’cept for Item 5. no way. Could not imagine being grateful for a temperature of 64, unless, of course, the day was, like January 3rd.
(I am one of those people who will get cold in about 6 weeks and stay that way until next June.)
I think we have blueberries in our woods, but they are not cultivated, so the bushes grow low to the ground and fruit are like purple BBs

    1. Thank you 🙂 I am middle aged and having hot flashes so I appreciate cooler temps 🙂

  14. I love Phoebe’s picture. VanGogh us such a cool filter. I had to chuckle at your being thankful for your hubby turning on the faucet at all hours of the night for her. Sounds like my house.
    Yael from Playing In Catnip

  15. What a great list of things to be thankful for.

Phoebe, we are SO sorry that we missed your Gotcha Day yesterday. We hope you had a good one and got to see your grammie and got lots of treats.

    1. Thank you, she is actually 15 because she was around 1 when I adopted her 🙂 Pets do bring a lot of joy.

  16. Yes to naps! My Sweetie also gets up in the middle of the night to turn on the tap for a demanding cat.

  17. Such a great list of thankfuls! First off, I love the art you did with Phoebe’s picture, the texture and color are wonderful! Our Sophie will turn 14 in October, and yes, we tend to spoil these dear old ladies, because we treasure them! Papa Bear is like your hubby and Sophie is most often camped out on his lap.

That’s an awesome sale on Party Mix, I buy the big containers too, we go thru them fairly fast. I’ve heard that calming collars work great, sounds like it is a real godsend for Sammy… and Brody! 🙂

I’ve never had blueberries fresh from the garden, thinking about them makes my mouth water! My grandmother made the best blueberry pie, I always asked for it.

A cool day is such a blessing in the midst of summer heat. We had a cool morning on Friday, it was almost too good to believe! I could live with 60s and low 70s all year round, gladly.

How fun to have a great niece to see and spoil! I love the age when they are just starting to talk and everything fascinates them!

Safe travel is always something to be thankful for, flying used to be a lot of fun, but not so much anymore. I will be flying to Nashville next month, hope it goes well.

Naps, they are so wonderful, they give you an energy boost for the remainder of the day. I think everyone should take afternoon naps like we did in kindergarten, it would be a nicer world! 🙂

Have a blessed week ahead, Ellen XOXO

    1. Thank you for visiting and commenting on all my thankfuls. I agree, we should all have daily naps- maybe there would be world peace. I hope you have a safe trip to Nashville- and fun too. I also hope you have a blessed week too. XO

  18. I don’t get to see the greats nearly as much as I got to see their parents as kids. I have to ask, what’s a calming collar?

    1. It is a collar that looks like a flea collar, but has phermones like Feliway which calm kitties down. It also has a lavender scent which is calming too. They are very cheap from Chewy and most pet stores carry them for about $10. They help cats that are fearful and aggressive too.

  19. I love the Van Gogh approach to Phoebe.
Are calming collars for cats and dogs? I’m not familiar with them.
We are enjoying eating fresh blueberries from our bushes now too.
Those cooler days that come after some hot days are so welcome.

    1. Thank you. Calming collars are for both dogs and cats. The scent of lavender and phermones calms them.I look forward to more cooler days, it is hot here again.
