#Remember the Rescue

Hi everyone!  I have so much to tell you, but first I want to remind you that today is #Remember Me Thursday to bring awareness to all pets in need of forever homes. Click here to learn more about it. Several of us came from shelters, Joanie and Sammy came from Second Chance and Snowball and KaTwo came from the Secaucus New Jersey Animal Shelter.

Mom entered Snowball’s photo with the hope of helping the shelter win much needed food. If you have a pet from a shelter, you can enter on the website or just post a photo on Instagram or Twitter and label it #RemembertheRescue.

I got to see Grammie yesterday and she will be here today to feed us snacks cat sit while Mom and Dad are out. I love her so very much.

And Sammy wants to thank his friend Sammy K. for his birthday card:

sammypbirthday2016  it is also time for Sammy’s poetry Day featuring the letter O. I have written a haiku for my purrince.

I love my purrince
he is my one and only
I am so blessed

And I will let Mom answer the question for P.S. Annie’s 19-Somethin Challenge is When did you first live on your own? Did you buy or rent your first home?  Does living in the college dorm count as living on your own? If so, I was 18. I lived at college for 4 years, coming home for the summer and a lot of weekends too. After college, I lived at home for a year until I got married and then moved in with my hubby. Fortunately, he already owned a home and I hope we will be here for the rest of our lives. Here is a photo taken right after the new roof and siding were put on in 2010.

And here are the friendly fill-ins for tomorrow:

1. The last movie I saw at the theater was _________________________________.
2. The title of my autobiography would be _____________________________________

3. I would love to learn                                   .
4. I am glad that I learned                                    , because                           .

  1. Simon posted a special post for Remember Me Thursday, too. We hope Snowball wins! We like your house – it is very pretty!!

  2. We both did “ONLY” for letter O today! Love your haiku. We feel bad that we didn’t remember (!) that it was REMEMBER ME Thursday but honestly, we think about shelter kitties and those who are never adopted every single day. It breaks our hearts that everycat and pup and other animal who is living in a shelter SO deserves a forever and some NEVER get it. I was a shelter baby and one of the lucky ones……………..

    Happy Thursday……
    Love, Sammy

    1. That is funny that you and Phoebe both did Only 🙂 I wish every kitty were as lucky as the blogging ones 🙂 XO and Love to you and your Mom.

  3. Such a pretty home! It’s a wonderful forever home for your kitties.

Our shelter has had a good many adoptions lately, and we are blessed as the TNR programs are going so well.

  4. We also will be posting #RememberMeThursday and #RememberTheRescue pictures in hopes of helping out a deserving shelter in our area. But we wish everyone luck in this contest, as it will be going to a good cause no matter what!

I am so glad that you’ll be seeing your grammie today, Phoebe. (Happy snacking while she’s there!) What a lovely poem for your one and only. So sweet! And we are, as always, looking so forward to tomorrow’s Friendly Fill-Ins challenge!

    1. I am glad you are entering your furbabies too. Any shelter or rescue that wins will be great, they all need help. We look forward to your answers tomorrow.

  5. Very nice post, and I will never forget those shelter days. Not fun at all. Love the blue color of your house – it’s M’s favorite shade of blue.

  6. You kitties are so lucky to have been rescued! Just a quick note that you have to use both hashtags on Instagram or Twitter for it to be entered in the contest. #RememberMeThursday and #RememberTheRescue.

  7. Thank you for the Remember Me reminder! Rescued furkids make wonderful family members!

Great questions for Friendly Fill-Ins this week, as usual! 🙂 I’ll be ready!

I love your home, such a pretty color and it looks so cozy! Grammie’s are always good for extra treats, have a great day! 🙂

  8. I’ve always got my babies from rescue facilities. They need us the very most.

I’m glad you got to see your Grammie and we all know you love her so very much.

When I first lived alone. That would be around the age of 18 and I lived in a hotel that rented rooms by the month. I didn’t have a car so I needed to be close to work. I lived there a very long time.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  15. Our precious Xerxes was a rescued kitty, but he wasn’t from a shelter. You’re all so pretty and so blessed to have a sweet mommy that rescued you and took you to your forever home. That is wonderful!

That is a sweet poem. I am glad that you were able to see Grammie and get snacks (I won’t tell mommy!). 🙂

And, speaking of homes, Ellen, I love the window on the front of your house. That is really pretty. It looks like a great house to me. 🙂 Thanks for participating in our 19-Somethin’ challenge.

    Have a blessed day!

    1. I have 4 from shelters and most were just drop offs which happens a lot in the country.
Phoebe is glad you like her poem. And thank you for the compliments on the house, it is small, but I love it. I hope you have a blessed day too.

  16. Snowball is so cute and your house is very pretty. We’d like to live in a house like that 🙂 Ours is a typical 1930s built 3 bedroom terrace in London. We can’t wait to move somewhere nicer and quieter.

    Purrs xx
    Athena and Marie

    1. Thank you, I love our house and location, sort of country, but only a mile from Walmart. I hope you get to move soon, I know you had a lot of trouble with a prospective buyer. XO

  17. What a pretty house! I love your bay window, we’d like to add one to our house someday. There’s a big picture window now, Sam likes to sit up there but would prefer some fresh air on her as well as sunshine!

    1. Thank you, it is in the dining room and filled with plants. The cats don’t have access to that room, I bet they would love to sun in it though.

  18. ‘Remember Me’ is such a good idea!

Snowball looks so demure. So lovely, too.

Grammie sure loves you all to come so often, and Phoebe how you dote on her:)

Petcretary first lived n her own about 2000 miles from her pawrents at age twentyone, her first job was that far away…because there were no jobs in her profession easily available back then. So Halifax became an adventure and she loved living there for about 18 months. (But she was homesick and had to get work closer to her pawrents).
