Capstar, Contest Winner and Tallulah’s Story

Happy Sunday everyone! I really hate to use the f-word on a Sunday, but yesterday we still had some Fleas on the cats. Turns out there is a magic pill called Capstar that kills them all in 30 minutes. You still need another treatment because it only works for 30 minutes, but boy does it work. We had treated everyone with Frontline, but there must have been a new hatch or something.

Today is every cat has a story day and I will tell you about Tallulah. She showed up in our yard in 2005 and was friendly from the start so she was obviously a drop-off. For some reason, people seem to think if they leave a cat by a barn it will be all set. Luckily, at our barn they are, but that is not always the case. Tallulah looks just like Jinx and when I first spotted her, I thought he had escaped as he was a bit of an escape artist in his younger years. She has always been a sweetie and we have never had a problem with her. She is one of Polar Bear’s 2 wives- he is deaf and likes to have them help him. Tallulah2

And now the information you have been waiting for—-the winner of the catnip ice cream cone and petsitter list is: Peggy Humes Hollenbach- Congratulations!!! I will contact you soon for your address. I also chose a new winner for the Catnip cat sign because the original winner never got back to me with her address. The new winner is Abner Doublebear- Cogratulations to you too! Thank you to all who liked my Facebook page and spread the word, I truly appreciate your help. I will announce another contest soon.

  1. Many of our angel kitties just appeared on our porch and eventually made a home with us. For some reason that doesn’t happen anymore. We think it is because of all the wildlife that has moved into our neighborhood…raccoons, possum, ground hogs and skunks. Tallulah is a beauty. Mom is a fan of panfurs. 1. Thank you, I don’t know how people live with themselves when they drop off a cat. We have coyotes around here so when I find a cat, I get it in ASAP.

  2. Concatulations to the winner! I’m so glad Tallulah found a home at your place, but I really do hate humans discarding kitties that way – and they don’t even realize how heartless their actions are. I purr lots for all the kitties who aren’t as fortunate.

    1. I don’t know how anyone can drop off a cat and live with themselves. I am glad Tallulah ended up here as well as Penny, Prancie, Stinky and Barney ( she passed away in 2013 🙁 ). All of them were drop offs.

  3. Yay we found you…when we click on your name on our comments it took us to a strange page but mom scrolled down then bingo she saw your blog addy
Hugs and may all fleas be gone tomorrow
    Madi your new bfff

  4. Oh the F-word… I know it only too well. Luckily for us, the dabs on the back of the neck are still workin’. Paws crossed that will continue.

    Purrs,
Nissy #Niss4Senate – tell the PM, today.

    1. Nerissa, I hope they keep working for you. They would have worked for us, but I thought being indoor kitties that they didn’t need them so now we are fighting a war.

  5. We’re glad Tallulah found a loving home with you. Why someone would just abandon a pet like that I will never understand.

That Capstar sounds like good stuff. We hope your fleas are gone for good!
