Happy Monday everyone! This month we chose Pet Naturals of Vermont Calming Cat Chews from Chewy. My cats are all pretty lazy so they probably didn’t need to be calmed, but I should save some for trips to the vet, especially for Spooky and Millie. Joanie is my one hyper cat, but she didn’t behave any differently despite having 3 treats ( one per day is recommended, but more can be given as needed). I didn’t give her 3 treats, I gave her one and she liked it so much that she swiped 2 more from the others.
Stinky did have trouble chewing hers because they are on the big size. She ended up licking it about 20 times then swallowing it whole. Everyone loved them, except for KaTwo. I wish KaTwo would eat them because she could use a calming treat. She is not hyper, but she really has fits and attacks her tail.
Active ingredients per 1 chew: thiamine (vitamin B1) 65 mg, C3 (colostrum calming complex) 9 mg, l-theanine (Suntheanine brand) 8.5 mg, inactive ingredients: brewers yeast, calcium sulfate, canola oil, chicken liver flavor, citric acid, glycerin, maltodextrin, mixed tocopherols, propionic acid, rosemary extract, silicon dioxide, sodium alginate, soy lecithin, vegetable oil
I am not sure if the treats really calm the cats, but they must be tasty. If you want to try them, Chewy has them on sale this month for $4.02 a package ( 30 treats per package). Chewy offers free shipping on orders over $49 so why not get all your pet Christmas shopping done in one place.
*We were given the treats for free from Chewy,Β but all opinions are our own.
**I apologize for the messy photos, the package arrived while I was decorating and there was no holding them back.
My human has tried a variety of calming treats on me because I don’t like driving in her car unless we hit a traffic jam (she and my breeder think it’s because Mini Coopers are a rough ride – I never complained about traveling with my breeder). But honestly, neither my human nor I see a difference.
I have always wanted a mini cooper, I didn’t know they were a rough ride. I still want one though.
Cats have x-ray vision when it comes to packages – they KNEW there were treats in there! Obviously they were a HIT!
Hugs, Sammy
Cats are very smart- especially where treats are concerned. XO
Mmmm. I’m glad you all liked them so much! I think my active Eddy would be the prime candidate for calming treats at my house. Perhaps I should try these out. Purrs, and great review!
Thank you, maybe you should give them a try.
We’ve tried those calming treats and really didn’t see much of a difference. But they did taste good. π
Same here, tasty, but not calming although it is hard to tell because my cats are always sleeping. π
It would be great if they worked because some days we have a cat or two who could use some calming! We are glad to see that they are tasty and meet with some approval π
the critters in the cottage xo
You should try them for your kitties, at least they will like the taste π
We might need those at some point too….like traveling to you know where… though fur us, feliway spray seems to work.
Glad you enjoyed them as treats.
Pipo likes to chase his tail too, its one of his obsessions, but it seems to be fun, case the toy nevfur gets lost, MOL!!
KaTwo injures her tail, it has scabs on it. π
OMC, That *is* not so good. We have not seen Pipo bite his tail as such.
I tried her on meds, but it is hard to medicate her and upsets her even more.
ooooooh you review made me very very hungry
Hugs madi your bffff
Sorry, I hope you get some treats Madi.
guys…theeze treetz sound grate !!! N we due knot think yur fotoz look messy…they look prette good in fact….ewe shuld see sum oh de onez de FSG takes round heer ~~~~~~~ π β₯β₯β₯
Thank you π You are very sweet kitties.
They probably smelled them coming down the street in the postman’s truck!!!
I bet they did, especially Joanie.
Well…guess weez glad dat most everykitty liked them. We don’t find they do any good eever and now me dusn’t even like da taste. Mommy searched and searched fur sumfin’ to help me wiff da stress, and so far da only fing dat we actually see a difference wiff is da Beaphar. Seems a little spensive, but mommy sez ifin you fink ’bout it, one pipette works fur a whole week. So dat’s less stressful fur all of us. No twyin’ to get me to eat sumfin’ everyday, or puttin’ it on meez food or in meez water only to have me turn meez nose up at it. Just a little swipe wipe and it’s dun fur da week. Mommy sez she’s gunna figger out da dosage which is 0.4ml of Valerian extract and just buy a bottle and make it ourselves. Good luck.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Lexi
I am sure it would be cheaper to make yourself. I only gave them once, so I don’t know who will want them a second time. There are only 30 and Joanie ate 3 so I guess they only get to try them once more π
At least everyone liked them even if they didn’t make anyone calmer.
Good point Flynn π
Truffles was crazy about these treats and they worked wonders for her when she first moved in. Unfortunately, Mudpie didn’t care for them π
We’ve always loved the things we’ve gotten from chewy.com. Those calming treats look delicious!
The Florida Furkids
They must have been good. Maybe all your cats will get along if they eat them daily. It usually takes a week or so to take effect.
At least some of you got to enjoy treats, even if you weren’t calmed afterwards.
They did seem to like the flavor.
The cat who doesn’t need the calming treat always thinks it’s most delicious.
That’s the way it goes in my house!
xxoo
Sounds about right π XO
