Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

I read several books a week, but I only tell you about the excellent ones that I think will interest some of you. This week, I have two good ones. The Loneliest Polar Bear by Kale Williams is an interesting read.  One chapter will be about Nora, a Polar Bear whose mother walked away from  her at a zoo when she was only 6 days old. When a Polar Bear does that then humans have to step in , but even with their help, it is rare that one will survive. Then the next chapter is all about Nora’s ancestors. It continues like that throughout the book. I enjoyed learning about Polar Bears and had no idea they were so closely related to grizzly bears that the two can mate.

The other book is titled Effortless: Make it Easier to do What Matters Most by Greg McKeown.  I always try to simplify things because I am lazy, but apparently that can be a good thing. A lot of people believe if something isn’t tough to do then it is worthless. The author points out how many things can be simplified and still be worthwhile and allow you more time for your family and things that matter. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I told my mom and hubby they need to read it.

Rosie will be here tomorrow. Penny claims she has vacation time she needs to use up before the end of the fiscal year.

  6. Sounds like a couple of interesting books! So Penny needs to use some vacation time up before she loses it? She sure lives in a TOUGH HOUSEHOLD (haha). We’ll look forward to Rosie tomorrow…………I guess she used all her vacation time up right?

  7. Two books that sound very interesting to read. I am still reading only blogs for now because of my dry eyes. It is always fun to see Rosie and if Penny needs some vacation time then that all works out well! Joanie is a very awww worthy girl.

  10. I’ve always said that I simplify because I’m lazy but maybe it’s more that I don’t like wasting time. When I started my last job I had to do a statistical report once a month for all the department heads. It was all human resource related and I was pretty sure no one looked at it. One month pretty early on, I was out a week so it was late. No one asked where it was. I already knew my boss didn’t look at it. I sent out an email saying I was “streamlining” it and asking what specific information people needed to know. I didn’t get one response. That saved me a day a month!

    I finished two books this past weekend. Unfinished Business by J.A. Jance and Legacy by Nora Roberts. Both great reads.

  14. I’m listening to two audiobooks right now; one on my phone, using the library app, and the other on CD.
    Depending on what I’m doing, I listen to one or the other.
    Both are mysteries that take place in London; my favorite kind of book!

  22. Effortless sounds great because yes, you want to do the things you have to do just as easily as possible so you can save time for the things you want to do.

    Vacation time before the fiscal year ends? Penny is a hoot.

    Mum loves to read as well. She is currently reading “The Dog that Came to Stay”
    I like mum reading because I can sit on her lap 🙂

  26. Oh, they both sound very interesting! I’m between books. I just recently finished one and took one day off. I’ll probably be starting one tonight. Can’t go very long with my nose in a book!

  27. Not sure if you got my comment already. I ended up on an error page! So… I wrote that the books you mention sound really good. I’m between books right now. Finished one a couple of days ago and I’ll be starting another tonight. Not sure which one yet!
