Friendly Fill-Ins Week 244

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. So far 2021 is ____________________.
2. A book (movie or song) title that best describes my life is ___________________________.
3. _________ was a pleasant surprise.
4. I learned that _________ is a recipe for disaster.
My answers:
1. So far 2021 is confusing. The news suggests more strains of COVID that  are deadlier yet the state is loosening restrictions and there is a vaccine shortage.
2. A book ( and movie) title that best describes my life is Girl, Interrupted. I know I am a woman, but in my head I am a girl and years ago I seem to have stopped. I graduated college, got married the following year and I seem to have been on pause ever since.
3. Penny showing up in our yard was a pleasant surprise.
4. I learned that giving The Great One candy when I first arrive at her house before we start school is a recipe for disaster- and a headache.  🙂
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Penny will be making a Mardi Gras wreath next Tuesday so I thought the flashback would be some of my angels in their beads.

  1. Love seeing the babies in their beads.
1..SO far 2021 is like a punishment. So was 2020.

    2. A book title that best describes my life might be Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury for reasons too log and convoluted to explain here.

    3. All the sun we have had for the first time in years and years was/is a pleasant surprise.

    4. I learned that always hurrying can be a recipe for disaster of varying types.

    1. Thank you for your answers. Yes, it is like a punishment-it is like GOd grounded everyone.
I would love the explanation to #2. Glad you got some sun. XO

  2. 1. So far 2021 is not being a whole lot different that 2020…frustrating as it is, at least we are sort of used to it by now….
    2. A book (movie or song) title that best describes my life is i have no idea!! LOL!.
    3. Getting an extra day off because of over staffing was a pleasant surprise. (Last week…)
    4. I learned that trying to teach poor little Dalton anything that requires hands on assistance is a recipe for disaster. He will cower and piddle. Always. (So I work at teaching him things that he already does shaping them into things he can do when asked. Its slow going, but it does work.)

Your MardiGras Angels are all sweet!

  3. Lovely flashback of your Angels in their beads. Good fill ins too. The coronavirus is very worrying with all the new variants.

  4. Thanks for hosting Fill-ins and thanks for the cool Mardi Gras photos! The virus is very concerning for MANY reasons including its’ ability to change and try to work around vaccines. So far we’re outsmarting it and I hope we continue to do that!

    Hugs, Teddy and Mom

  5. So far 2021 has been looking up for us but our State isn’t loosing restrictions, surprisingly but from what Mom reads in the news our COVID numbers are not good.

  6. Meowser Ms. Ellen thank you for hosting this blog hop! Yes, this year seems to be confusing, purrticularly if you watch ‘the news’, which mostly seems to give misinformation like Biden winning the election. At best, he is acting out a role in someone’s nutty play and I’m thinking this will soon be exposed… Our military will not accept the dishonest media virtually putting liars and cheaters in charge for long.

  7. Love your fill-ins. The powers that be are doing the same thing here concerning Covid. I have my thoughts, but I’ll keep them to myself.

Aw on all the angels and Penny showing up in your yard was not by accident.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins. Always fun.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend., Ellen Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  8. You are right, 2021 is very confusing so far! It’s been up and down….just when we think things look more hopeful, our hopes get dashed again! Most days I just don’t know what to think. Guess we just have to focus on the positive things in our lives as much as we can. ♥

  9. Your fill-ins are fantastic, as always. And you are so right that 2021 is already a confusing year. I’m trying to be optimistic for 2021, but I must admit it’s not easy. And I’m so glad you found your sweet Penny! Your angels are purrfect Mardi Gras models! Purrs!

  10. Great answers Ellen! I can relate…altho’ I’m now 65 (& feel 95 most days) my brain is still 25….it is pretty funny!!
I love the pix of past Kitties in their Mardi Gras beads…..I think of Phoebe with fondness wearing those beads & Purrince Siddhartha Henry always rubbing the laptop when he saw her photos……

  11. I’m going to get woowoo on you here.
When folks have a traumatic happening in their lives, I believe that a piece or pieces of their soul break away. This stunts their growth, in a way, anchoring them to that trauma. Even if they don’t realize it.
There are people who can help with something called soul retrieval. They journey into the world, find your soul pieces, and help you pull them back together.
I’ve wanted to do this for a decade, but am just now working up the courage to do it. Animals too, can suffer this, and I learned about soul retrieval from my animal communicator friend.

    1. That is not woo woo. I believe it, but I don’t recall a trauma in my life. I would like to learn more about this. XO
