Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone!  We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop

I am thankful once again for my Sammy. He is always by my side. And such a good model. I stuck the pen there and he didn’t move-it looks like he is a lefty like his mom.

Also thankful I still get to see my loved ones despite COVID. I am blessed that we all live fairly close and I am hoping closer in the near future.

I am also thankful Teddy’s mom is blogging again after her recent surgery. We are joining their poetry day named after Teddy’s angel brother Sammy ‘s Poetry Day. The prompt this week is great- I LOVE Lucy!

Why did we decide to earn our own money,

this is starting to not be funny

Working is causing me stress
and I am going to need a bigger dress.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.  The linky stays open until Wednesday night.

  1. We, or rather I, had an orange-and-white cat like yours. His name was Willie. He never warmed up to Mary, but loved me. He’s been gone about 15 years and I still miss him…

  2. Sammyt is smart, did he pen the poem?? MOL!

I loved that one episode, I still have belly laughs if I see it now! Once there was a marathon of I Love Lucy, and a few of the peeps I was looking after that night were all watching it. We all got to giggle, and one lady almost fell out of her bed she was laughing so hard! It really made my day that those peeps were happy and forgetting their troubles for the moment! Slapstick fun like that, is rare these days.

  3. Sammy is a sweetheart! I read that the cases are falling in the US… fingers crossed. Enjoyed your poem and as always the last sentence is super giggle worthy. I never know how you are going to wrap it up. We haven’t seen family but if we get the call for our vaccine, that could change in March. We still see friends that are in our bubble but I would like to go food shopping and fun shopping without the huge worry of getting covid.

    1. Thank you, glad you like my poems. I hope you get your vaccine soon. My hubby is eligible in Feb. , but the health care workers don’t even all have theirs yet. XO

  4. Sammy, I know my mom said she was meant tube a lefty as she still remembers her mother correcting her into using her right hand.. BUT you know what? To this second she still uses only her left hand to cut food at the table and she uses it to wash dishes.

  5. Wonderful thankful things. Sammy at your side is a good thing. I had a kitty like that many years ago. Most precious.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  6. Those are purrfect thankfuls, hooray for family and for Sammy too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  7. What a sweetie Sammy is! I just love that poem, and I love that scene from the Lucy show too.

  8. Sammy looks so beautiful and sweet and I am thankful you have him too, Ellen! And it’s really good to live close to loved ones and family! XO

  9. Daisy Mae is thankful for her furrever family and I’m thankful that both my parents are still alive. I know not everyone is that fortunate.

  10. Great poem and we are so sorry to hear that Teddy’s mom had to go to the human vet. Glad she’s feeing better!

  11. Love the poem and I Love Lucy! What a sweetie Sammy is. As for COVID, it’s the same with me. I’ve still been able to see family as we live near each other.

  12. I’ve always wished I was a lefty, like Sammy. My parents always tell me that they think I would have been left-handed if I hadn’t mimicked my older, right-handed sister when learning to write. And your poem is just as fun as the I Love Lucy image! Purrs!
