Hi everyone! I have more Thanksgiving tips for you today. You know how you make a wish and break a wishbone- the person with the biggest piece gets to have his/her wish come true. Well, if you are a vegetarian or a vegan, you should still get to play that game.
Sorry about that. I have a way you can still break a wishbone to make a wish without harming a turkey. All you need is some white chocolate melts and a wishbone candy mold. You just melt the chocolate in a double burner ir in the microwave and pour it into the mold. Chill the mold in the fridge then pop them out.
I am not sure why these are broken already. Sorry, good help is hard to find.
And if you don’t eat chocolate, you can get fake wishbones made of plastic. I am putting Amazon links for the molds and the fake wishbones. As you know, mom signed up for the Amazon Associate program so if you click on the link and make a purchase, we get a small commission and mom said I can have all the money made from my links on my posts. No pressure, but thank you if you do buy something.
See you next week with more Thanksgiving ideas. I may even let Rosie help.
We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop And Create With Joy’s Inspire Me Monday.
Rosie!! Are you trying to usurp Penny form her tip posting?? LOL!
We have the real thing at our den, but those fake ones would be fun…maybe even at halloween, they’re bones you know…
That is true- good idea for next Halloween. XO
We have a turkey wishbone. It is hanging on a hook on the pantry door. It is about 10 years old. We admire it sometimes. But when we have turkey, it is a thigh. TBT cooks it without spicy stuff for us and adds that to his part afterwards.
That is sweet of TBT. XO
I think I would much rather have a chocolate wishbone!
Same with my mom. XO
Even if you have turkey, you should have these so everyone gets to make a wish, since the turkey only has one.
Thank you. 🙂
My Mom and Dad always do that wishbone thing because Mom makes a turkey every year for TURKEY DAY. She is also a chocoholic and thinks long after the REAL wishbone is broken these chocolate ones would be extremely yummy! Thanks for the idea…..
Hugs, Teddy
You’re welcome. XO
Great idea about the wishbone molds, Penny! We don’t do a turkey for the holidays so the wishbones made of white or milk chocolate would be fun. Thanks for the tip! I will look forward to you and Rosie sharing next Tuesday’s Tips.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
A chocolate wishbone sounds so good. Happy Tuesday!
Thank you. 🙂
Cute idea. I don’t eat meat, but I love chocolate:)
Thank you. 🙂
Our cat Jezebel wants to weigh in and say, “Forget chocolate and plastic. I want turkey in my bowl! But you can keep all the bones.” 🙂
MOL! Good point Jezebel. XO
It would be sort of funny to have an unbreakable wish bone for humans to try!
MOL! 🙂
Great tips on wishbones, Penny. I love turkey but I wouldn’t mind a chocolate wishbone!
Thank you. 🙂 Can’t go wrong with chocolate. XO
xo
Great tips!!! Mom would like the chocolate ones!
Thank you. 🙂
Penny, thanks for sharing this tip! I’ve never heard of this before! 🙂 <3
Thank you. 🙂
Gosh, we haven’t thought about turkey wishbones in years!
My mother used to save the wishbones, to use the following year, because the ‘fresh’ one was too soft.
Yes, they are too soft so these are good to use on Thanksgiving. XO
What a wonderful idea. We don’t hurt turkeys here either. I love this idea. It’s a win win because you can eat the chocolate.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Rosie, we think you have happened upon a great idea without even knowing it. Every now and then you and Penny should do the tips together.
Penny we liked your idea about the “fake” wishbones.
Have a happy Tuesday my friends.
Thank you. 🙂 We hope you had a nice Tuesday too> XO

Shhh!! Don’t tell him. 🙂 XO
What a “sweet” way to make a wishbone!!! And even if the wish doesn’t come true, there is still a tasty reward.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Thank you. 🙂 Good point.
Penny,
I love turkey but we get the boneless turkey. It looks like a small roast with both white and dark meat by Butterball, so we haven’t had a wishbone in years to make a wish on. I do remember doing that with the kids, though. It was fun. Now, I love chocolate so this is a great alternative and it adds some fun to the mix. I’m tempted to get the mold and chocolate but I know I’ll be making way too much candy for Christmas so I guess I need to be sensible about things or else my waist line will pay for it dearly. 😀
I say go for it. 🙂
This is a great tip! We never would have thought of that.
Thank you. 🙂

You are always up to something over here, I Know it keeps everyone out of mischief! Chocolate, hmmmm…. that can’t be a bad thing! LOve the wishbone and miss my mom, we always did that together. Memories. HUGS to all and Much Happy Meowing from the felines here.
Memories are good to have of special times. XO
Chocolate sounds good to me, Penny😸Extra Pawkisses🐾😽💞
My mom too. XO
Such a great idea! And then you have a tasty bit of chocolate to enjoy. Win-win! xo
Thank you. 🙂 XO
That is a great idea! We aren’t vegan or vegetarian and Mummy has no problem breaking chicken wishbones (after all, the chicky-bird is already dedded!) – but She says it’s a great excuse to eat CHOCOLATE (mol).
Yes, we love chocolate. XO
