Hi everyone! Did you know that today is National Craft for Your Shelters Day?
As you know, my mom crochets toys and donates to shelters. Well, you don’t have to know how to crochet to make some fun toys for pets in shelters. A few years ago, our friend, Summer showed us how to make a simple toy called a nip knot, to read her directions, click here.
All you need is some fleece fabric, scissors and dried catnip. Mom made all these in about 10 minutes.
She mad 2827 ( OK, I took one -for testing purposes only).
These are going to be mailed to Tabby’s Place in NJ. Our friend Lola writes about them and mom likes that they are also a sanctuary to some kitties who may never have a forever home, at least they will have a good life there. Plus we have great news. Our friends at Friends Furever’s blog had a comment-a-thon and we won so we got choose the shelter they would donate $25 to. We chose Tabby’s Place. Thank you Friends Furever!
One more thing- I know you all think Rosie is so athletic because she can get on top of the entertainment center.
As you can see, she has a pole and there is one on the other side too. So any idiot cat can climb up there.
Thank you Ann of Zoolatry for making the badge.
We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Your mom makes the absolutely BEST toys! We all love them so much!
Thank you 🙂 XO
This is also my human’s birthday! Thanks for sharing my post about the nip knots! It’s about the only thing my human is capable of making.
Happy Birthday to your human! XO
Thats a nice pile of fun toys for the shelter!
And glad you got to choose your fave shelter to send your winnings to.
Thank you 🙂 XO
I make the nip knots when we take food to the local shelter. They are so easy and if I can make them, anyone can.
I haven’t been able to go since lockdown started in the beginning of March, and they are still closed to visitors. I hope I can soon visit again.
That is sweet of you to do. Maybe you can mail them some. XO
We have to encourageour Humanmom to also make those toys!
Ha, love the secret behind Rosies athletic capabilities 😸
purrs Annie&Charlie
Thank you 🙂
I have to tell Granny, Penny, we have lots of nip, that I can share😸Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday to all of you🐾😽💞
Happy Tuesday! XO
You have no idea how many years Bear spent trying to figure out how to get to the top of our entertainment center. Ironically, we now have a cat tree next to it, so he actually COULD get up there – he just lost interest!
That is funny. XO
Your Mom is wonderful to make toys for the shelters – I know they appreciate that SO VERY MUCH. Glad you sent your winnings on the commentathon to Tabby’s Place too. As for Rosie on top of the cabinet – even if she used the pole she’s still VERY VERY BRAVE!!!!!
Hugs, Teddy
Thank you 🙂 And Rosie says thank you. XO
HAHAHA about Rosie and her climbing abilities, Penny! I am glad you let us know about that! Your Mom makes some very cute and wonderful cat toys and mats! She’s the best!
Thank you 🙂 XO
Now THAT was a surprise about Rosie! Ha ha Meow! And those nipknots are the best! Katie loves hers! She has it out of her toy basket a lot. I have seen it make a trip to the living room on many occasions. Her basket is here in “her” room. Mom sponsors the disabled kitties to Tabby’s Place. Thank you too for the same…sending them things they can use.
Thank you 🙂 XO
Great tips for today. Summer’s catnip knots look mighty easy.
We have some toys your mum made and they are pawsome too 🙂

We have some of these toys, and the kitties love them! We need to donate some toys to some of our local shelters and rescues, and the type of toy you’re sharing here is purrfect. Purrs!
