Goodbye My Sweet KaTwo

KaTwo left us quite suddenly last night.

I knew her time was limited after being diagnosed with mammary cancer 15 months ago, but other than the small lumps she had no symptoms and was very active. I think it was a blood clot, not sure if it was from her thyroid related heart murmur or from the cancer. She is the one cat I was unable to give aspirin to, I could barely get her liquid thyroid meds into her.I am thankful we were with her. My heart is so broken , this is the third loss this year. I only had her for 7 and a half years, but I am thankful for that time. She had been in the Secaucus, NJ Animal Shelter for 2 years before we adopted her.

She loved to be right next to me on the couch and that is where she was when she left this world.

We know it’s small comfort, but we hope you can take some in the fact that you gave her such a wonderful life, and that she fought for quite a while in spite of her illnesses.   36. I’m sorry that KaTwo had to leave, but I think there is no better way for any living creature to depart tha feeling safe and loved, and in the company of family. She was a lucky girlcat, and her family was lucky, too. Godspeed, KaTwo.

  44. I’m so sorry Ellen. Sudden loss can really hit you hard. My sister’s cat with mammary cancer passed rather suddenly as well. Her cancer quietly moved to her brain through the lymph system. I hope that neither of them suffered very little. I’m glad KaTwo was with you for 7 years. I’ll be thinking of you and praying.

  54. I am so sorry Ellen. So very sorry. KaTwo was such a beautiful cat. I hope there is comfort in knowing you gave her such a safe life with you and your husband. She had a real family of her own after you adopted her from the shelter. If she had to pass it was a true blessing that she left having you close. She was loved.     The good news is that Ka Two’s ill body can no longer bother her and her spirit is now free of it. Dare I hope that she and Mr. M. have the capability to watch over and purrtect us?

    When you are at our saddest, just remember that you bettered KaTwo’s life when she joined your family and you gave her all the love she could’ve ever wanted. Purr purr purr. She is now a twinkly star that will always follow you in the night sky.
