The Little Book of Bob: Life Lessons from a Street-wise Cat

Hi everyone! I have a great book to review today. At the end of the post, I have an update on Noel and Prancie and the winner of the Pirate giveaway.

*Disclosure- I was given a copy of The Little Book of Bob: Life Lessons from a Street-wise Cat by James Bowen in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are my own.

I am sure you have all heard of Bob. You have probably read A Street Cat Named Bob or have seen the film. As you know, Bob is an English cat that rescued his human at the same time his human rescued him. This book is short, only 166 pages, but filled with wisdom. The wisdom of Bob and what he has taught James in their years together.

Prancie thinks they may be cousins

I think we would all agree that our cats have taught us how to appreciate life. Bob has done the same for James. Some things he writes about are Our happiness lies within and believe in yourself. He goes on to explain how Bob taught these lessons.

I highly recommend this book for all fans of Bob and cat lovers in general. Release date is October 22nd, you can pre-order on Amazon, click here.

The winners of The Pirate Day giveaway are Charlee and Chaplin of Oceanside Animals. Congratulations!

Noel is hanging in there still. We got very bad news about Prancie this past Friday. The ultrasound showed a tumor on her liver and her gallbladder. The internist feels it is cancer, but the only way to be sure is biopsy and she is to frail for that. She is on prednisone and continuing with fluids. We are praying it buys several months of time. Our hearts are broken. We can’t imagine a world without Prancie in it.

I will try to blog on Thursday and Friday all depending how these two are doing.

  1. Oh, no:(
That sounds so sad about your dear Prancie.
And we are still pawyerring for Noel too.

    For both of them…

Its so hard to watch our furbabies get older and sick, and then we can’t even do much for them except to keep them comfortable. And to let them know how much they are loved.

    ((((( ♥ )))))

  2. I love the Bob books. The new one sounds like it will be great! I’m so sorry to hear about Prancie; I know it’s hard when kitties are unwell. Sending strength and hugs and hopes for more time with your Prancie and Noel.

  3. I’m so sorry to hear the news about Prancie. I had a red tabby that went through the same thing. He, too, was too frail for the surgery. I just have a feeling that Prancie will be around for a while yet. Please take care of yourself too.

  4. I am so sorry for your bad news about Prancie. I send good thoughts for her and hope the internist is wrong.
Flynn took Pred. for more than 2 years. I know it was for a different condition but I hope it will work as well for Prancie.

  5. We are truly sad about the news with Prancie……it’s just so heartbreaking when our sweet kitties get bad health news – we feel helpless but we can give them every ounce of love that we can for however long we can. Sending hugs to Prancie and Noel and ALL of you…………..

    Hugs, Teddy (and Mom)

  6. My heart is broken over Prancie, too. It seems especially sweet to have her book and know the story about how she came to be family. I hope you get much more time with her. Prayers for her and Noel ♥
I love the Bob books and this looks like a small book to keep close and refer to when you feel in need of some Bob Wisdom.
    Hugs to you Ellen.

  7. Purrs and prayers for your sweet babies, Noel and Prancie, and big hugs to you Mom Ellen.

  8. I’ve seen the book about Bob. Yes kitties and puppies can teach us so very much.

I’m so sorry about your two kitties. You and your kitties are always in my prayers.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Big hug, Ellen. ♥

  9. Bob is such a wise one. We are so sorry to hear about dear Prancie, that’s terrible news and we send love, hugs, purrs and prayers to you, Noel and Prancie.

  10. Oh. So sorry to hear this news about Prancie, but you’ve still go time with her. It’s too hard to have two sick babies; I am purring for all of you.
I’ve LURVd Bob since I first heard about him, and will get a copy of his new book for sure.

  11. We are sorry to read about sweet Prancie. We are sending purrayers and POTP for both Prancie & Noel.

  12. Ellen, I wish there was something I could do or say to take away everything that you, Noel, and Prancie are enduring. Please know that our purrs and prayers are with you all. Your kitties are so blessed to have you.

  13. It’s bad enough having a cat who is sick and facing her last journey, but to have two is more than doubly worse. May you have much more time with both Noel and Prancie.
