We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that The Great One enjoyed her first day of preschool. She is almost four and will go 3 days a week. I am also thankful I got to go over and take her first day photo. I took my niece’s ( her mother) first day photo from preschool -college and I hope to do the same for her and her little sister.
Here’s a Flashback Photo of my Angel from September 2014 on Meow Like a Pirate Day. We are looking forward to that on the 19th and will be having a giveaway.
And here is my poem based on Sammy’s Poetry Day.
The man in the van thought he would give her a ride
maybe she was a runaway bride.
Then he realized it was a bluff
no one could carry all that stuff.
If he stopped and said get in
out would jump the rest of her kin.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I joined ____________ in _______________.
2. I wish I’d asked _______________ about _________________.
3. _________ had the biggest impact on who I am today.
4. _________ is the most beautiful place I have ever been.
That poem is hilarious! Great way to start my eeeaarrrrllly morning!
Thank you 🙂
Sounds about right! Reminds me of a sign I saw in Clearwater Beach last year … “Don’t feed the seagulls. We know they’re cute and we like them too, but then they get ideas and invite their sketchy relatives.”
That is a funny sign and so true 🙂
That poem is hilarious……and with all that “STUFF” by the girl, I’d be a little suspicious there were some people hiding in there too! Looks like she’s traveling with everything but the kitchen sink (although that may be in there somewhere!!!). So happy THE GREAT ONE’s first day of pre-school was fun. She’s a star!
Hugs, Teddy and Mom Pam
Thank you 🙂 XO
Ellen,
Funny little verse. I wouldn’t want to give anybody a ride that I did not know. People are crazier today than yesterday, especially women! Oh, goodness sakes the things reported now are things you only hear about men doing. Congratulations to the women’s movement for turning women into guys without the equipment. *eye roll*
Thanks for sharing tomorrow’s Fill-ins. I got ’em and will play along with you for the first time in quite a while. Have a terrific Thursday, my friend!
Thank you 🙂 I look forward to your fill-ins. XO

Ahh, your poem took me back to “Smokey And The Bandit” movie, with Sally Field and Burt Reynolds. A bride who was hitchhiking! It’s hilarious to rewatch that film now, but those two were adorable together!
I have never seen that. I should. 🙂
Cute poem! What a darling little pirate, can’t wait for the next pirate day, it was fun.
Thank you 🙂

What a lovely tradition you have with your niece and grand-niece!

That’s an interesting take on that lady, and chances are you are totally correct:)

How sweet! Watching little ones grow up is always precious. And I think you’re very on point with that poem.
Thank you 🙂 XO
We got quite the chuckle out of your poetry. Enjoy Friday’s Fill Ins. Mom has doctors appointments both days so we by passed the Fill Ins this week.
Shoo
Thank you. I hope the appointments go well. XO
Wow, can you believe it’s September already?!
I don’t personally have kids but my friends do, and they tell me all the time just how quickly their little ones seem to grow up.
I hope preschool continues to go well for her!
Also, that cat pirate costume is just darling 🙂
Thank you 🙂 I don’t have kids either , but I enjoy my niece’s two.
That was a terrific poem and insightful as well. We don’t think Lucy was very happy being a pirate. It is always a fun day, however. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Thank you 🙂 XO
MOL! What a funny poem! We hope she doesn’t have any cats hiding in all that stuff.
Thank you 🙂
Very sweet with taking pictures of The Great One and her Mom previous to that. Four years… she is growing so fast. Funny perspective on the poem… I like that, made me laugh this morning.
Thank you 🙂 Glad you laughed. XO
That’s wonderful that The Great One liked preschool!
Thank you. We are all relieved.
I remember my mom taking my photo on my first day of school each year. As a kid I thought it was kind of silly, but as an adult I’m so glad she did it. And your Angel Lucy is the purrfect pirate. I have Meow/Talk Like a Pirate Day marked on my calendar so that I won’t forget. As always, your poem had me smiling and laughing! Sending you all lots of purrs and prayers!
You have a wonderful mom -and dad too 🙂
