Z is for Zeppelin

Hi everyone! I am such a dip that I forgot to post my Z for the A-Z challenge in Sunday’s post.  Z is for Zeppelin. I couldn’t find a free pattern so I made it up as I went along.

And now for the fun part, I am giving everything away to 2 lucky winners. Each winner will get 11 toys and 2 hats.Just leave a comment saying which item I made was your favorite. Phoebe will announce the winners on Thursday.

We are also joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? blog hops.

Memoirs are my favorite genre so I read Insomniac City by Bill Hayes even though I was not familiar with his writing before reading this. I can’t even put into words how much I enjoyed this book. Mr. Hayes lost his partner in San Fransisco suddenly then he moves to NYC and finds love again with Oliver Sacks ( another author I was unfamiliar with, but will read now).

I really enjoyed his style of writing and how he chose his words. Here is one quote, ” I’ve come to believe that a good cry is like a car wash for the soul.” Another quote after describing some books falling over and making a sound ” …..that sound alone is the reason to have books. May books never disappear. ” I also enjoyed his love of NYC and all the positive encounters he has with strangers.

I feel bad that I haven’t read any cat books lately, I will soon though. I think I spotted a black and white cat last night so I put out food and something ate it, but hubby thinks it was a skunk. Time will smell, I mean tell.

  1. That is funny about the Z post. I guess you were pleased to get to the end, but maybe sad, too. Anyway, I am not sure which of your toys is my favourite! I like them all! You are so creative and fun! Congratulations on an excellent A-Z, my friend. Hugs.

    1. Thank you, I am glad you liked them all. I am a little sad to be done. Congratulations to you too! XO

  2. Well done on creating a zeppelin for your Z post!! Not a cat toy that normally springs to mind!! Congratulations on finishing the A-Z Challenge 🙂 I’ve enjoyed coming over to find out what your cars are up to during the month of April and will no doubt be back for more. I love the idea that you’ve been feeding a skunk – you are one of a kind 🙂

  3. Ellen, no worries! I’m playing catch up this morning, so I’ll be going backward to try to get your posts that I missed while being away from Blogosphere this weekend. What a cute, clever idea for your “Z” post. 🙂 It was great fun to see what neat little cat toys you can come up with and someone is going to be lucky to win yours!!

  4. Now that is a mighty fine zeppelin! You made so many wonderful goodies, but I think my favorite is still the Viking hat. Joanie did such a fantastic job modeling it, too! And your review is fantastic. This author sounds so genuine, and the quotes of his you gave are so profound. Happy Monday to all of you!

    1. Thank you 🙂 Glad you liked the zeppelin and viking hat. Happy Monday!

  5. So enjoyed your A to Z Challenge! The Zeppelin is very cute. The kitty toys were all cute and you came up with some really good ones. I think my favorite was the Viking Hat. I am going to keep myself out of the running so that someone with cats can win the cat toys… 🙂 You cracked me up this morning what with feeding a black and white cat… er, skunk!

    1. Thank you. :)Part of me hopes it is a cat, but then again , my hubby won’t let me keep it.

  6. Happy May

I love all the wonderful items you have created for the alphabet. Thank you for telling us about Bill Hayes and his partner. They are both now on my list of authors to check out.

  7. Great toy! Unfortunately, our kitties are too old to play except on rare occasions. ‘Time will smell’ – funny. As for forgetting, it’s not dippy. You probably were like some other folks and thinking you would not want to post toward the challenge on a Sunday. Be well!

  8. You did a great job making up that pattern, and congratulations in completing the A to Z!

  9. I love the zeplin! I had no clue of what you were going to make ! I think my favorite was the viking hat. I like Ray Stevens … he has a song called Eric The Awful about a viking … I was singing that all day. No… I don’t sniff catnip. I have no excuse other than that’s just the way my brain works. Have a wonderful day!

    1. That is too funny 🙂 Glad you liked the zeplin and the viking hat.

  10. Awww, you’re so adorable Phoebe. Yes you are.

I wish I had kitties to enter the giveaway, but I don’t. I do hope someone I know will win.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your talented mom. ☺

    1. Phoebe thanks you and I thank you for the compliment too 🙂

  11. Pawsome pic of Brody & the Zep ! Every day I thought the new one was my favorite ! What an effort on your part – I hope you had as much fun doing it as we did watching !

    1. Thank you 🙂 I had a lot of fun and I am glad you enjoyed them all.

  12. A Zeppelin–so clever! I have to say the viking hat was my favorite, with the ice cream cone being second.

  13. We love the Zeppelin and to think you made up the pattern as you went along. It boggles Mommy’s mind. However, we love what we are calling your “Southwestern” Christmas tree. Maybe we’ll get a turquoise one this year. One of Mommy’s fave colors. All of your creations were pawsome.
Angel Normie, Angel Mika, Sasha & Grady Lewis

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I can make you a turquoise one, those are easy to make.

  14. That Zepplin turned out great but our favorite is the Octopus! Those legs would be fun! That book sounds really good. Mommy likes reading authors who have a way with words!

  15. Wow, A Zeppelin! And its an original! Great job:)

We like the Viking hat and that Uncle Sam hat, too…can’t decide which we like better. But…pawppy is a big fan of Wagner o-purr-as, so maybe that one would be good. Then we can mrouw armewias and meowrias to him! MOL!

Petcretary says we had better back up and check out the bloggy posts we are behind on…like your Y.

  16. I cannot make up my mind between the Dr Seuss hat, the Angel hat, the Zepplin and the Turkey leg!~ You had so much fun didn’t you?!
    Cheers!
