Hi everyone. My hubby tends to be busy with the garden in May so he ignores mowing the lawn. I was thrilled last year when I discovered No Mow May. Apparently, it started in 2019 and encourages people to not mow in May to help pollinators by leaving wildflowers to bloom. So now he doesn’t have to feel bad about it. Except last year, he kept it going through June. π
The boys are all in favor of helping the bees. Who makes the best bunblebee?

or
Rudy?
and we join theΒ Cat Blogosphere hopΒ every day.
We think Rudy and Rusty BOTH rocked that bee look. Rusty is a little blurry, which we imagine makes him look like he is buzzing. π
Good for you and Hubby for doing No Mow May. Our pollinator friends need lots of help from us all. XO
Yes, buzzing, I like that. π Thank you. π XO
I really like the idea of No Mow May. I always loved dandelions. Both those cat boys look fabulous in their bee outfits and we think it’s a tie this time! XO
I like dandelions too. π The boys thank you. XO
They both look great in their bee outfits. Hubby likes to keep the lawn down, but we have lots of flowers for the bees.
Thank you. π Good that you have flowers for the bees. XO
To bee or not to bee, that is their question. Mama thinks they both bee darlin’!!!
Ha ha! Thank you. π XO
Way for Rusty and Rudy to support saving bees. Too cute.
Thank you. π
There is no contest between these two boys. Let’s just hope those bee Wings don’t fly them away. And it is a great thing to do all weekend for our real bees. I always get discouraged when I look around at all the homes in my community and no one even puts out a flower pot.
Thank you. π That is sad. We have a lot of flowering things like azaleas and we have flowers in the summer. XO
That’s a good idea about No Mow May, and I got a chuckle that your hubby continues the trend through June. The boys look adorable in their bee outfits.
Thank you. π XO
Both boys look great in their bee outfits.
Thank you. π
I think Rudy wins this week!
He thanks you. π
Chaplin: “Hmm, I feel like Dada would probably get a letter from our HOA if he attempted No Mow May.”
Charlee: “Both boys make excellent bumblebees! They even have the stripes in their furs!”
Glad we don’t have a HOA in the country. π
Oh sweet furry ‘bumblebees’ ~ love you both ~ hugs,
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Thank you. π XO
Hubby has been mowing since April.
It’s a tie. It’s always a tie. I love all your kitties.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Ellen. A big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. β₯
Yes, warmer places would start a lot earlier than we do. The boys thank you. We all love you too. XO
Thanking you for helping the bees by holding off on mowing!
Both Rusty and Rudy are the bestest bees in their bee costume… other than the real bumbles π
Well done Boys!
Thank you. π The boys thank you too. XO
They are both cuties!
Thank you. π
Both are cute bees!
Thank you. π
Oh Ellen you crack me up No Mow May…did David invent that?
I’m running late this morning we had a new fridge delivered (after 2 1/2 months of waiting), Delivery and removal went well just a few hiccups.
One guy will be back after 5pm to finish with the icemaker.
Needed a part that wasn’t with it.
Hugs Cecilia
No, it is actually a thing started in 2019, but David loves the idea of it. Enjoy the new fridge. XO
Rusty is looking a bit coy there:) And Rudy posed so nicely.
We could never let the grass here go for the month of May – that is one of the fastest growing months here. Unfortunately our HOA would get after Mom and Dad.
Woos – Misty and Timber
Thank you. π Glad we don’t have a HOA out in the country.
They both look sweet as honey. π I actually received help in my gardening today but will be mowing the lawn tomorrow. lol Best wishes, my dear.
Thank you. π I won’t mow the lawn – I don’t like being in the sun or with bugs. XO
Rusty and Rudy, thank you for “beeing” bee mascots!
No Mow May sounds fabulous, except we have to start mowing in March. In fact, January and February are the only months we can be pretty well guaranteed our lawn won’t need mowing.
Thank you. π Maybe a no mow March for you. π XO
Rudy, you nailed it pal!
Thank you. π
Both are so cute! I try to participate in No Mow May too but the grass gets so high and thick it’s hard to get through come June.
Thank you. At least you try. XO
Rudy bye a whiskurr!!
BellaDharma,,,it’s Rusty who wears it best!!!
NOSE BellaSita Mum iss Rudy!
B-Girl it’s Rusty!
Wee agree both Rudy an Rusty wear it best!!!
Mew mew mew Belladharma an **giggellss** BellaSita Mum
Ha ha! Glad they tied. XO
We think one bee is sleepy.amnnd some bees do rest…and the other is getting ready to find the next flower! We keep the front areas of our one acre mowed, the county says we have to keep it at 6 inches or less…even though we are rural.
I leave the back area mostly ‘no mow’, though I walk through there almost every day to pull out invasive weeds and all the tree seedlings that are also undesirable, I leave any oaks or hard maples, and we have gotten control over the garlic mustard and some others, now I’m working on all the cleavers…and bittercress.
Ever since I started doing this many years ago, we now have lots of jack in the pulpits, and several other native wildflowers.
I wish we had trilliums….they are the provincial flower of Ontario where I came from. There used to be lots of them along the roads we take to go to our church, but over the years and with all kinds of construction projects, most of them have disappeared. They are very sensitive to environmental changes…
We have SO MANY dandelions back there…we could have a salad everyday for months! They are all abuzz with bees, but not the Rudy and Rusty Bee wanna-bees!
I am glad we don’t have rules on how high it can be. Trilliums are beautiful. XO
Rudy wins the competition this time, but you both can come fly by in our garden, there’s plenty of wild flowers for you hereπExtra Pawkisses for the both of youπΎπ½π
Rudy thanks you. XO
Gotta go with Rudy on this one; Rusty looks like an angry hornet!
I agree. π
I like Rudy the best only because we can see more of his face. What will bee, will bee and this time it’s Rudy.
Rudy thanks you. XO
