What My Cat Has Taught Me About Life

Hi everyone! Today is W day for the A-Z Blogging Challenge. I am recommending What My Cat Has Taught Me About Life by Niki Anderson. phoebe1

The original came out in 1997 and it was reprinted in 2007- you can get it on half.com for 75 cents plus shipping. Every chapter has a story about a real cat, a quote, a scripture and a cat care tip. It also has lots of adorable photos.

And you know we love to hop so we are  joining Shopping Around the World hosted by Bacon and Fozzie. This month is sandwiches: My favorite is chicken salad:

2 cooked boneless chicken breasts $2.99/pound

1/2 cup dried sweetened cranberries 5 ounces for $2.99

1/4 cup pecans 6 ounces $5.69

1 slice of onion $2.99/ 5 pound bag

mayonnaise $ 2.99 jar

Directions: Toss first 4 ingredients into food processor and chop up then add mayonnaise . Put on your favorite bread.  This is also good with leftover turkey at Thanksgiving. Make sure you give the cats a little chicken before you add the onion.

Please visit William’s Mom if you haven’t already. He is sadly getting ready to journey to The Rainbow Bridge. Purrs Prayers for WILLIAM (WMD)

  1. Mom was given this book by a customer where she works – and loved it!! Hmmm, chicken salad sounds delish. Minus everything but the chicken of course!

    1. Good thinking Toby- you may like some mayo though. I am glad your Mom has that book already.

    1. I do make leftover turkey like this too- very tasty. XO and love to you too.

  5. Meowmy always wondered how to make chicken salad, now she knows, MOL!! We will need to find unsweetend cranberries and a sub fur the mayo, cause those are off limits here…the sugar and some of the other things in the mayo…but Greek yogurt works purrty well. Then meowmy would sub some stevia or lo-han fur the sweetness factor.

That sounds like a sweet book too:)

    1. I am sure it will be just as tasty with your Mom’s changes. Last time I made it, I was out of cranberries and it was fine without.

  6. I sure am going to try THIS recipe. My husband adores chicken salad. The kitties also enjoy getting pieces of freshly cooked chicken when he is making his recipe. Of course they get NO onions ever so they only get the chicken before it is transformed into salad.

    That books sounds fascinating!!

  7. We think it is neat that this book has cat tips too. And our Mama loves pecans! So that recipe sounds really tasty 🙂
