Tummy Tuesday

Happy Tummy Tuesday everyone! Today is also medical day and thankfully I have nothing to report ( knock on wood, 3 times). My niece is the hospital manager at our local VCA and every Tuesday she posts some useful health information on their Facebook page. I found this one very interesting and wanted to share:

Feline Myth Busters!

Myth: Cats with heartworm disease don’t show clinical signs.

Fact: Nearly 2/3 of heartworm infected cats have signs such as coughing, wheezing, dyspnea, vomiting, tachypnea, and weight loss.

Contact our clinic to find out how to prevent heartworm disease in your cat with Paradyne.

Now for some tummies:
006Joanie loves to show hers off
003Prancie is getting a little braver showing hers off ( don’t tell her Daddy)
And don’t forget to comment to enter to win a Friskies Pull ‘n Play treat dispenser.

  1. Heartworm is a deadly parasite in whoever it infests. We rescued two dogs (twenty years apart) who had been affected by this nasty parasite. Stella is one of the dogs. Thankfully, both dogs were treated successfully, but the treatment is also harsh and dangerous.

Good post, my friend. Important and timely.

    1. You are very sweet- good luck in the giveaway. Phoebe is glad you like her tummy best. XO

  6. Cute tummies! One of my friendly ferals has a cough; I wonder about heartworm, or lungworm…but I’ve taken her to the vet and she was too fractious that they couldn’t do a good exam of her. Am plotting a new trapping event, to get her seen by a rescue-only vet clinic that knows how to handle ferals.

    1. I hope you can get her to the rescue vet soon. Being that she is outside it could be from so many things. I have a stray I adopted with herpes and he has a cough and get the sneezes a lot.

    1. Thank you- you can rub them 🙂 And you are entered in the giveaway- comment again tomorrow for another chance.

    1. Thank you 🙂 I should do that knowing mosquitoes can get inside, but it is very costly and I don’t like giving extra meds.

  7. Thanks for the medical news. Joanie and Prance look so cute showing us their tummies. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  8. Those tummies are very sweet and floofilicious! We didn’t realize cats could also get heartworm but that does make sense if they go outside!

the critters in the cottage xo

    1. Thank you. Heartworm is much more deadly to dogs, cats seem to fight them off most of the time, but not always.

  9. Mee LUVSS Phoebe’ss ‘efurryfing’ bestest!!!! 😉
    ~~~head rubsss~~~ an ***paw kissesss***
