The Nanny

Hi everyone! I am mad at my Mom!

She gave me a wet willie, you know when someone sticks a wet finger in your ear. She said it was thyroid medicine so I don’t have to take pills, but it sure felt funny.

Grammie is coming to see my today. I love her so very much and I haven’t seen her since Saturday so I am very thankful she will be here today.

And now for my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day, featuring the letter N.

The Nanny
In the 90’s Mom watched The Nanny
about a girl out on her fanny.
Mom liked it so much , she got this

her voice sounds worse than a hiss.

I think my Mom is crazy
and sometimes a bit lazy.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Mom is skipping the movie hop this week because the theme is ancient world and she doesn’t have any recommendations on those.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow, Mom came up with the first 2 and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2.

1. The oldest item in my home is __________________________.

2. The oldest item in my refrigerator is _____________________.

3. My family heritage is                                .

4. My favourite family tradition is                                .

  1. Oh, wet willies remind me of my grandpa, as he was notorious for giving them. Fear not, though, Phoebe as the kind of wet willie you’re getting means you don’t have to have those pills. Isn’t that pretty cool? Angel Rosie ended up getting her pepcid transdermally in her ear like that, as she hated pills and pretty much any medicine that went in the mouth. Oh, and I used to watch The Nanny. It was a fun show, just like your poem is fun!

    1. Glad I reminded you of your Grandpa. Good to know pepcid is available in the gel too.

  2. My Mom remembers The Nanny…this is a cute poem! I haven’t heard anyone talk about a wet willie in years but it’s not pleasant is it – at least you can have your thyroid meds more easy that way………..be brave!

    Love, Angel Sam and Teddy

  3. Yeah, we know about taking medicine too. But not in the ear. Did your mom.ever see the movie the nanny lady was in ? Mom thinks the title was something like the Beautician and the Beast. It was funny.

  4. Phoebe, the look on your face in the videeoh is priceless! I am so happy Grammie is coming to see you today! I don’t know about your Mom being crazy, but I do love her sense of funny!

  5. Phoebe, I would be mad too! However, your mom is just caring for you and it’s probably still better than a pill or liquid. Your poem is so funny! The Nanny’s voice really is worse than a hiss! Cute video!

    Have fun with your Grammie!

  6. OMCs a medicial wet willie…I had no idea you could give meds in the ear way better to have a wet ear willie than a pill popper crammed down your throat or a pill
mashed up in your food. I hope it is working it’s magic
    Hugs Madi your bfff

  7. What a great way to get your meds. I like it.

I know you love your Grammie so enjoy your visit with her today.

The doll is a bit creepy. Just saying.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your mom. ☺

    1. Thank you, I am getting used to the ear meds I guess it is better than a pill.

  8. phoebe…yur poem iz total lee awesum….az iz yur moovee….we canna heer de sound coz de pea sea we iz on izza P.O.S. but yur you tube iz still good ! 🙂 ♥♥♥

  9. Ear drops or tablets–which is worse. I think ears because you have to do it twice, or maybe only one ear? Depends what it is for, I guess. Eye drops are the worst! We love the Nanny’s voice!

    1. You are the first I ever knew of to like her voice 🙂 Well, people must or she wouldn’t be famous.

  10. Oohhh… May I do fill-ins right here?

Oldest item in my home: The peep. I’m pretty sure she walked the Earth with the dinosaurs. MO– USES!

Oldest item in the fridge: I can tell you where it is but not what it is as it is. It is no longer recognizable. MO– USES!

    My family heritage is: Cat.

My favourite family tradition is: Mockin’ the peep. Nissy started it on his blog and I, Seville the cat, continue the tradition. MO– USES!

    1. Thank you for those great answers. I have a feeling the peep wouldn’t like the first one though.

  11. Wow, so many replies we had to scroll and scroll and finally we’re here! Well neither we nor Phoebe knew what to make of that Nannyl, that’s for sure! But we often thought of raiding the doll store to get interesting miniature creatures for ourselves, you gave us a great idea!

  12. We think a little bit of discomfort in your ear is better than having a pill crammed down your throat Phoebe! It’s great that that option now exists. Our Angel Tulip had to take a pill for hyperthyroidism every day and she was good about it but it stressed our Mama out! We are happy that you get to spend time with your grammie 🙂

the critters in the cottage xo

  13. Benny has to take pills for hyperthyroidism–he is good about taking pills so we are lucky. Did Grammy bring you any treats?

    1. You are lucky. I am lucky that Millie and Polar Bear take theirs without trouble. Grammie didn’t bring treats, but she handed some out 🙂

  14. My mom LOVED LOVED LOVED that show! And listening to Nanny laugh was worth being tuned n. Mom said she wishes she had a dolly. If she kew one was available she’d a bought it she said! Does it laugh too?

    1. Glad she liked the show too. The doll doesn’t laugh, that would have been fun.

  15. We’re glad your mommy has found a way to give you your medicine so you will take it. And we’re glad you’ll be seein’ your grammaw. Big hugs fur all.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  16. Oooh, around here, we are not allowed to use the “L” word! Heeheehee! Let’s just say your mother would rather rest, and not say what she’s resting from. (just like me!)

  17. I’m sorry that you had to get medicine in your ear, but maybe it is way better than having to try to swallow it. I sure hope you’ll be better soon, Phoebe. I’m glad that you’re going to get to see Grammie. 🙂

    Have a blessed day!

    1. Fran Drescher had another show on a few years ago based on her life, she was married for 20 years before her hubby came out.

  18. The mom watched that show too. The Nanny had a really funny laugh. Phoebe, it might feel like a wet willy, but you’ll be thankful for getting your medicine that way instead of a nasty pill

  19. That wet stuff is probably better than pills but still, we’re sorry you have to deal with that. We do want you well though!

  20. My mom wasn’t fond of the Nanny because of that voice.
Thyroid ear medicine sounds interesting, especially if you don’t appreciate taking pills all the time.

    1. It was annoying, but I liked the show anyways. Yes, the ear meds seem to be working out.

  21. You are so witty! Oh, my Mom watched “The Nanny” on the black box, too. She said her voice was like a kitty that was hoarse from meowing all day! I’m sorry you got a “wet willie.” I can empathize ’cause Mom puts goop in my ears often to calm my allergies. Tell ur Mom you deserve a freshly caught salmon to dine on!

  22. Our folks loved The Nanny…so, so funny! Mom said she didn’t know there was a Nanny doll. Phoebe that sounds like a much better way to take your medicine. We bet you’ll get used to it very soon and not mind at all. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

  23. Medicine on your ear!?!?!? So much easier than being forced to swallow it! We didn’t answer the fillings on Friday this week so we’re going to answer them on Monday!! Love you all!

    1. I am getting used to the ear, it is better than pills twice a day. We love you all too! XO

    1. Wet willies are awful, but they are not as bad as taking pills twice a day. I am not a big kisser, but I will try to give Grammie kisses for you. I love you my sweet purrince. XOXOXOXO

        1. Mom tried to make me have meds in food and I wouldn’t eat it- I showed her. XO

          1. Do you know LadyMum triess each of mee medss out herself?? Shee had a lick of thee Nutri-Lys Gel an said it tastess like Vanilly….no wait…Vanilla. An shee tasted thee Pro-bye-otick powder an it has no taste…..does Lady Ellen try yur meddycayshun all so Phoebe?

          2. That is a great idea, she should. She says she can’t try the thyroid meds though because her thyroid is already slow and she doesn’t want to make it slower. XO

  25. My Crash got thyroid medicines in his ear for many years! Trust me Phoebe, it is so much better than a pill for both you and Mom! It’s called Transdermal Gel, and it only feels like a wet Willie!

  26. Wet Willie, MOL!!! Hope that works good for you, Phoebe! We giggled at your poem!
