Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop

Basketball season is over, but I am thankful for basketball season. It gives me a reason to go out during the winter when I am in a post-holiday slump.

The Great One is to the right. I had to blur out a face of some girl on the other team.

And Typhoid Mary- love her style. Only she would wear a pink skort to play basketball.

I finally got around to writing a poem for Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day. Here is the photo prompt.

Big sis told me they were fake,
if I tried them, I could have cake.
Now I look like a fool.
How am I supposed to go to school?
I can picture this happening with my great-nieces.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I don’t _____________, but I appreciate those that do.
2. Lately, I can’t get enough ___________________.
3. _________ scared me away from _________.
4. _________ forced me to learn how to _________.

  1. The game looks like fun, go for it, girls! Funny poem for a funny picture! And interesting prompts for the fill-ins! XO

    1. I like basketball best because it is inside. Sounds like your sons were very busy. The girls are too with basketball, dance and ice skating (TGO). XO

  2. I’m sure you enjoy watching the girls out there on the court! Good job on the poem this week…..my Mom used to cut my bangs ridiculously short but confessed to me later that because she would see that she cut them crooked she just kept trying to adjust and adjust to get them straight which meant SHORTER AND SHORTER bangs!

    Hugs, Pam

  3. Dad said those pix reminded him of when his boys were younger and played basketball, football & soccer. Way to go, Typhoid Mary. Dare to be different, we say!

    1. Well, The Great One does, but not Typhoid Mary because the boys never throw the ball to the girls. Glad you like the poem. xo

  4. It’s fun seeing the girls out there “doing”! Hey, a pink skort may catch on. The whole girl team in them!

    1. They are growing up way too fast. Glad you like the poem. Yes, I can picture it. XO

  6. It’s nice they had you at their games! Fun to have you back doing the poem. You have had a lot on your plate for quite a while. I can so see a big sis doing that to little sis!

  7. I’m so glad you get to go to the girls games.

Your poem made me laugh, yes, sometimes children are teased into doing silly things.

  8. I always love watching girls basketball. They enjoy the game and play so hard. Love your nieces enthusiasm for the game. 😉

  9. My Mum loves girls basketball. It’s so much fun to watch and they tend to work as a team better than boys basketball. It neat to watch them.

Great job on the poem. Glad you’ve had time this week to do it. Well done.

    1. Yes, they seem to. Right now, Typhoid Mary had a mixed team and the boys didn’t share the ball with the girls. Glad you liked the poem. XO
