Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. Before my post, I want to offer deepest sympathies to Lorianne for the loss of her sweet pup, Astrid. To visit, click here.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Thank you all for your kind words on yesterday’s post. I am thankful for all of you.

I am thankful that my niece and I were given the chance to go through her mother’s house yesterday. When she passed 3 years ago, we had taken most of her things, but not all.  She had bought the house with her boyfriend in 2020 and had it put in the deed that if she passed, it belonged to him. I wrote a while back how we found out of his sudden passing over a year after the fact. The bank foreclosed and sold it, but his family was not responding so my niece was contacted to sign something (no worries, her lawyer looked it over). She asked if we could go in and the attorney for the bank met us there and waited patiently while we spent an hour going through everything. We recovered many photo albums and photos including one that my mom thought was long gone.

Here is my poem for Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day to go with this fun prompt.

This is an easy yoga pose
just need to hold your toes.
Why the look of surprise?
Haven’t you ever seen a bear exercise?
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

  7. My heart grieves for Lorianne and her family.

What a blessing the bank let you go in and find all the photos and other mementos. It’s so hard when those things disappear.

    I really enjoyed your poem!

Charlee: “That is great that you were able to go through the house and recover those photos.”
Chaplin: “Yes, we know how important pictures are to people! Our Dada has been scanning his old photos for the last five months or so and has been coming up with pictures he hasn’t seen for twenty or thirty years or more, including ones of our legendary sisters Trouble and Pooh Bear.”
Charlee: “Oh, and also him and Mama and other humans. But mostly Trouble and Pooh Bear.”
