Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

I am thankful for clearance sales. Last week, at Walmart I scored a set of 12 dinosaur eggs for $1.98. They are plaster that you break away to get the plastic dinosaur out. The Boy had a lot of fun as we opened 3 of them on Tuesday. I think he would have done the entire box. I took turns with him and used my hammer too or we would still be trying to get them out. It is fun finding things to amuse a boy after years of amusing the girls.

I skipped the poem again. I just can’t get my brain into poetry mode lately.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. My _____________ is too ____________.
2. _______________calls me ____________________.
3. I’m most likely to take _________ to a potluck.
4. I need to ask _________ for help with _________.

  1. Maybe you can ‘invent’ a way to make some of those eggs or ‘rocks’ to hide things in for the budding geologist to discover! Use a balloon, with something small inside; covered in plaster, let it dry and then maybe paint it, and let The Boy smash it to find the prize.

Looks like he had fun, so that is the main thing!

  2. Wow, that is some hammer! Your little cutie pie is going to LOVE Game of Thrones one day. Maybe. With the flying dragons and all, and watching them hatch! YOU are so creative and yes, little guys are fun to watch.

  3. And now do you add water to the dinosaurs and all of a sudden they come alive and start growing, LOL. I think I’d start running down the road screaming.

  4. 1. My life is both too boring and complicated.
    2. The TV calls me too much.
    3. I’m most likely to take only my own food to a potluck.
    4. I need to ask too many hard to understand people for help with computer problems.

Dinosaurs are cool. My younger brother loved them. But I was more into space stuff. Had a whole shelf of model rockets.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am sure my nephew will like space stuff too. 🙂 XO

  5. My granddaughter loved those dinosaur eggs. It would keep her busy for hours. Now she’s 20 and is past that stage! 🙁

  6. Ellen I know I sound like a broken record BUT YOU ARE THE VERY BEST GREAT AUNT E V E R
The Boy, TGO and TM are so lucky to have you. The memories you make will last furever

  7. Crafts for kids to do can be so expensive and will probably be getting more and more costly soon. So it is always a good thing when you find a bargain.

  8. What a fun project for The Boy! It certainly looks like he had a great time.

  9. That’s a great deal and looks like lots of fun! I like the clearance sales.

  10. The dino eggs and the tiny dinsaures are way cute. We think The Boy is in camo but I think it looks like jammie attire! I already have my Fill-Ins done… shocking. Ellen, the dino eggs were a great thing to find. Jerry was in desert camo most of his Army career except when he was in his flight suit. We know camo! I think it is fun you are doing boy things now too 🙂

    1. He does have some camo, but these jammies are more of a forest print. Thank you to your hubby for his service. XO

  11. Oh Boy! Dinosaur eggs ~ bet the little boy loved them ~ such fun ~ Wow!

Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
