Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that I got to spend time alone with Typhoid Mary. She really enjoyed having all my attention and I enjoyed giving her all my attention.

Also, thankful I found a place that cleans braided rugs at a reasonable price. I called one place, and it was $600. I could buy a new one for a little more than that. This other place has been in business for 40 years and it will only be a little over $100 plus they pick up and deliver for free.

This is a shot of Angel Prancie playing on the rug.

I skipped the poem because the photo had monkeys and I can’t think of anything funny about monkeys. They just plain creep me out.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I learned _________________ the hard way.
2. I am overdue for _____________________.
3. I used to _________, but now I _________.
4. _________ is the strangest thing I _________.

  1. Wow that sure is a big price difference on the rug cleaning. Adorable picture of Angel Prancie. I’m glad you had a good time with Typhoid Mary. XO

  2. That is a huge difference in price! The expensive one deserves to go out of business. I dislike monkeys too. Many years ago possibly before we were married, a safari park opened and we decided to make a day trip of it. The car in front was suddenly covered with monkeys who pulled the windscreen wipers off and tried to pull of the door handles too. We quickly turned around and went back out through the emergency exit.
That is a sweet flashback of Angel Prancie.

  3. The not funny thing about monkeys is just last week 30 or 40 laboratory monkeys got loose in North and South carolina. And they haven’t all been found yet. They are dangerous.

  4. I have one braided rug and it’s in the cat room. It’s about 30 years old and still beautiful in a worn way. The cats think it’s a scratching post.

  5. Awww, Angel Prancie♥ Definitley happy doing a cat dance. She could “cut a rug” … cracking myself up!
Those braided rugs are the best for handling wear and tear and holding up. I miss my braided rugs that I left at the house when we sold it in 2018.
    Monkeys creep me out too!
    Good Morning, Meowing Crew!

    1. MOL! I like that cut a rug. 🙂 Yes, they are the best. My angel Lucy used to literally tear up the rug and every year I would remove the outer rung. XO

  6. What a sweet pic of Angel Prancie. I am glad you found a better price for cleaning your braided rugs. I am not real fond of monkeys either.

  7. I dislike monkeys, always have and see no fun in them whatsoever. So there! Hehehehe. Seriously, don’t
    like ‘ em.

    1. I have learned to use detergent made for dark fabrics the hard way. (believe me!)
    2. I am overdue for some much more vigorous workouts! It’s been one thing and another.
    3. I used to run but now I walk like the wind instead.
    4. Reactions to politics are the strangest thing I have ever seen.

    1. Glad I am not the only one. 🙂 Thanks for these great answers. Walking is better on your joints. XO

  8. So nice to have that special time with Typhoid Mary. She will remember that fondly when she is older. We had a similar experience here with a very small electrical job that was $350 from one person and $175 from another You can guess which one Mom went with – all the more treats for us:)

  9. What fun, having TM over and I’m very glad you found a reasonable way to get the rug cleaned.

  10. Oh sweet kitty photo on the rug ~ Glad you found a less expensive place to clean it ~ Bravo!

Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

  11. Wow that is expensive to get a rug cleaned. Glad you found one more reasonable, and hope they do a good job.
haha I had to laugh because I so agree with you about monkeys! They are so creepy to me too. 🙂

  12. Glad you had some one-on-one time with Typhoid Mary and managed to find a reasonably priced carpet cleaner. You’re right, monkeys are just a bit creepy.
(have figured out I can comment if I fill out all the blanks through Safari. My comments on Chrome still get rejected).

  13. Charlee: “Monkeys are creepy! Especially the flying ones employed by the Wicked Witch of the West!”
Chaplin: “Is that what those things are? Monkeys? I thought they were out of work bellhops.”
Charlee: “Why would you think that?”
Chaplin: “The little hats. Hey, we have some little braided rugs like that ― our Dada’s Nana and Auntie used to make them. Somewhere around here we have a picture of Dennis carrying one in his mouth like it was a toy …”
