Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   I am thankful that my mom and I got to spend time with my niece and all 3 kids on Monday and then I got to watch The Boy for two hours on Tuesday. I love it when he says Auntie.

Typhoid Mary made me laugh on Monday. I was trying to find a movie her mom used to like called Double Double Toil and Trouble and she said she didn’t want to see a movie about toilet trouble. Kids say the darndest things.

Also thankful for my pedicure. My mom and I went for them on Friday and when we went to pay, my niece had already called and paid.

Also thankful to my mom for these cool Jack Skellington pj’s.

Not sure when to do the poem because Pam is taking some time off until next Friday so I guess I will save it for next week.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. My favorite Halloween movie is _____________________.
2. People always ask me for my recipe for _______________________.
3. I go to _________ when I need help.

4. If I had to spend a night in a haunted house, I would bring _________ with me.

  1. Charlee: “‘Double Double Toil and Trouble’ sounds like an interesting movie! It’s about our legendary sister Trouble the Kitty, right?”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, what would Trouble be doing in the toilet?”

  2. Ellen oh my cats as the saying goes out of the mouths of babes…” I love it when he says Auntie.

When my daughter was little she loved the song Ruby Kenny Rogers…three is a line in there she misunderstood. It is “4 hungry children”…she thought it was “400 children”. She asked me how much $$ it took to feed 400 children? She was very serious so I tried not to laugh until I had fully explained what it was 4 hungry children.

  3. THAT was one of the best remarks made by a real kid that I “know” that I enjoyed it doubly much! 🙂

  4. I’m so glad you got to spend time with the kids. That’s a lovely pedicure, your niece is a sweetheart.

  5. That is some nice toe paint, Ellen. That was very sweet of your niece. I bet it was fun to watch The Boy. EveryBODY needs a Grammie!

  6. Ooooooooooooob Lots of cool things to be thankful for there!!
Doing toenails is great! I do not do it very often, but think I should.
