Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  I am thankful that The Great One made her first basket last Saturday and I was there to see it. She also made a second one too.

Rusty and Rudy are thankful that their persistence paid off and they scored some butter.

We are also joining Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day.

Here is the photo prompt.:

No, I have not lost my mind

and I am not violently inclined.

I don’t use this to keep my hubby at bay.
but it works to keep the Jehovah’s* away.

* I mean no disrespect to another religion, but I don’t like people coming to my door.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that ___________________________.
2.  I am disappointed with _____________________-.
3. I _________ when I hear _________.
4. I didn’t believe _________ until I saw it for myself.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 They always do. They are so pushy. We lock them in the bathroom when we don’t feel like fighting. 🙂 XO

  1. HAHA, those anthros came to OUR door last week and mama always has on a mask when someone delivers and she simply said, oh, sorry I can’t talk to anyone now as you see.

  2. Well done Rusty and Rudy! Your poem made me laugh. The Jehovah’s Witnesses used to come here a lot but not for several years now. Maybe they got the message at last that we weren’t interested. The most annoying part was that they would turn up in a camper van with the whole family and relations and they would all come pouring out!

  3. Love the photo of Dad with the “butter begging boys”!! The Great One scoring TWO baskets? WOW – impressive. As for the poem – it’s perfect and hilarious – a great combination.

    Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)

  4. Thank goodness the door knocking around here has slowed to a bare crawl. Whew!

  5. Great poem. I don’t like people coming to my door either. One of the advantages of living in a gated apartment complex is solicitors are not allowed on the premises.

  6. And they got the butter! High five to The Great One! Don’t like strangers knocking at my door either. We are in a gated community too and solicitors are not allowed. Good Morning, Meowing Crew!

  7. Lulu: “Butter! I love butter! Well, I mean, I haven’t actually HAD butter, but I’ve gotten to shred butter boxes, which is pretty close.”
    Chaplin: “That’s just sad, Lulu.”

  8. Rudy and Rusty are lucky cats! We don’t get butter here, but Mom will sometimes give us cream cheese….We ALL get cheddar in the morning as that is how Kozmo gets his Thyroid Meds and we love Cheese Time! And the poem rocked. You know we get “believer” door knockers here in our little village! Keep being awesome! Purrs Marv and Mom

    1. They are lucky. Don’t eat too much cheddar. Brody did once and had to go to the vet for an enema- don’t tell him I told you though. XO

  9. HA! Those two butterballs are so cute and that was a fun poem! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  10. I’m always glad you hear you got to spend time with your niece.

My Sweetie always gives in, too.

Your poem is funny and clever. One of my favorite internet memes shows a couple standing in their door, nude (from the back, of course) and the wife is saying to the husband, “Those missionaries will never bother us again!” or something like that.

    1. Thank you. That is a funny one. I am not that desperate to keep them away though. 🙂 XO
