Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! Sorry I am so tired and weak from lack of treats ( Mom is rationing them).

I am thankful that I have a stash of treats, if only I could get them out of the package myself. I am thankful for Grammie too, I love her so very much even if she didn’t come inside to say hello to me when she picked up Mom yesterday.

Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop

Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day.

Treats
I love all treats
they is all I wants to eats.
Give me Temptations and Party Mix
make sure you give me more than six.
I have yet to meet a treat I don’t like
regular food can take a hike.

Sammy is posingwith the Whale for the A-Z Blogging Challenge. It must be a baby whale, it is kind of small. I am sure The Trout Talking Tabbies will approve of this one.

Mom is participating in Wandering Through the Shelves Thursday Movie Picks, TV edition:police- here are her 3 chocies:

  1. Shades of Blue- Currently is season 2, this show with Ray Liotta and J-Lo is well written and the acting is so good.
  2. Life on Mars ( 2006) – British TV series that ran for 2 seasons. A police officer gets in an accident that somehow sends him back to the 1970’s.
  3. Life on Mars ( 2008)- American remake that was just as good as the original. The character development and 1970’s costumes were fantastic.

And here are The Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first 2 and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2.

1. A book I would like to see made into a movie is _______________________________.

2. If I could afford a billboard, it would say ___________________________________.

3. I have a hard time                              .

4. I really enjoy                               .

  1. Saphera shares you pain … due to her weight, she has been on a very strict diet for months… while she has lost some weight and is now walking more, she rarely gets treats… and even for holidays, she only gets one small thing.

    1. I need to gain weight though so I should get all the treats I want- right?

  2. It’s Thursday, already?!
I’m not much of a treat kitty but I guess if I were used to getting them, I’d miss them.

  3. What a cute whale! Yes a baby one,MOL! Can it spout like grown up ones??

Phoebe I hope you get a good ration of treats, are there not some kinds that are well, you know for dieting kitties? We get a grain free kind (Well, only Pipo cause Minko won’t eat any kind of treats, MOL!), and they are less calories and better.

  4. Oh no, Phoebe, we hope you don’t just float away on the wind from lack of treats! We sure do like your ode to treats. Evan is a treat fiend, and Temptations and Party Mix are his favorites. And that whale, it’s just too cute! Now, we’re off to go fill in those wonderful fill-ins. Purrs!

  5. Oh you poor starving girl! Your Mom is rationing the treats your Grammie gives to you? That sounds just plain WRONG….! Gifts from Grammie shouldn’t be on the chopping block – she gave them to YOU!!!!! Oh well….what’s a girl to do? We love your poem today – it’s fabulous…..! We’ll be joining up for Fill-ins tomorrow………….

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. It is so wrong. Glad you like the poem 🙂 I look forward to your fill-ins 🙂 XO

  6. Now be sure and eat some regular food, too. ~nods~ Everyone needs a balanced diet. Cute whale, by the way.

I like these questions! You make me think.

    1. A book I would like to see made into a movie is my short story series.
    2. If I could afford a billboard, it would say ‘Be Excellent to One Another’.
    3. I have a hard time caring about housework.
    4. I really enjoy writing.

    ~grin~ Be well!

    1. Thank you for your answers, I enjoyed them. I hope your stories can be made into a movie someday. I like your billboard and I am with you on #3.

  7. A very nice baby whale, and i agree with the poem. If i could eat nothing but snacks and treats and stay healthy, i would do it!

  8. A poem about capital T-reats seems perfect for you Phoebe! Maybe Grammie could talk to your Mom about you wasting away from lack of treats! Sammy and the baby whale! Good Morning!

  9. I’m sorry you’re so weak from the lack of treats. Mom is only doing what the vet wants.

I’m sorry grammie didn’t come in to see you. That had to be awful.

I love your poem and having it about treats is purrfect.

Have a puffect day. My best to your wonderful mom. ☺

  10. Oh No, No treats, that is not good. Sammy that is such a cute baby whale. And the poem is just perfect. We don’t get many treats around here either. Hope things get better for you soon, Phoebe.

  11. Sweet Sammy that is a terrific poem about treats. Too bad treats don’t have all the nourishment in them that you need so you could eat all you want. Keep feeling and doing better sweetie. Hugs and nose kisses

  12. Six treats! I hope you don’t eat them all at once or you will be sick! My oldest cat Marigold is really liking treats, and tries to find and open the bag!

  14. Your poems are always great. You are so talented. I for sure need them more frequently than my humans give them to me. I may have to go on strike with laptime.

    1. Thank you 🙂 I don’t do laps, but I do sit next to my humans so I may cut back on that. XO

    1. That is a good idea-and some cat grass too 🙂 Glad you liked my poem, thank you. XO

    1. Thank you for rescuing me from SPAM. It has been doing that to me all day on wordpress blogs. Thanks for the extra pawkisses. XO

  15. Awww you make a beautiful kitty ball, Phoebe. Our Angel Callie loved balling up like that to sleep, too. We sure miss her.

Your poem is very nice. I am sorry that your mommy has to ration your treats. Maybe it won’t always have to be this way. I’m also sorry that Grammie didn’t come inside to see you this trip, but maybe she will be able to next time.

What a cute little whale Sammy has.

    Have a blessed evening.

    1. Thank you. I hope Grammie visits me soon. We hope you have a blessed evening too.

  16. Your mom picked some good shows. I didn’t see the British version but I liked the AMerican version of Life on Mars. Unfortunately, I only saw a couple of episodes. I haven’t seen the show with J-Lo but maybe I will give it a chance. Love the cute poem and the pussy cat is a sweetie. I always enjoy watching movies and creating cards or a scrapbook.

  17. I haven’t seen the Ray Liotta/J-Lo show though I like Liotta well enough, just not enough hours in the day.

We match!! I didn’t expect to really match with anybody this week and especially with Life on Mars! I’ve been meaning to watch the English version but haven’t gotten there yet. I just love the American one though. I was terribly disappointed it was so short-lived.

Aside from that I went with a show I won’t miss when it played originally and one of the classics of the genre

Life on Mars (2008)-In present day New York City detective Sam Tyler (Jason O’Mara) is pursuing a suspect when he’s struck by a car. When he awakens he finds himself in the same spot but it’s 1973! Already dressed in 70’s clothing he heads to his precinct where he’s mistaken for a transfer and put to work, now he has to figure out what happened while adjusting to his new surroundings and still chasing criminals alongside cops that have rougher methods than he’s use to. Intriguing series has a great cast, Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli and Gretchen Mol among others, terrific period detail and soundtrack but fell victim to poor scheduling which lead to its short duration.

Wiseguy (1987-1990)-Government agent Vinnie Terranova (Ken Wahl) is fresh out of jail where he was placed by the Organized Crime Bureau (OCB) to give him a criminal history to enable him to go deep undercover to break up big syndicates. Guided by his often exasperated but understanding boss Frank McPike (Jonathan Banks) and wheelchair bound remote liaison “Lifeguard” (Jim Byrnes) he sets out to crime bust while trying to keep his secret from his mother (Elsa Raven). Excellent series told its stories in multi episode half season arcs focusing on one set of characters. All were good but the initial season’s two arcs dealing with the empire led by Sonny Steelgrave (a commanding performance by Ray Sharkey) and the draconian deeply twisted Profitt siblings (two showpiece turns by Kevin Spacey and Joan Severance) are by far the best.

Dragnet (1951-1959/1967-1970)-“Dum…da.dum…dum-Ladies and Gentleman the story you are about to see is true, the names have been changed to protect the innocent….This is the city-Los Angeles, California…I work here, I’m a cop…my partner’s Frank Smith, my boss is Captain Glavas my name is Friday.”

So began every episode of this Jack Webb series which he created and in which he starred giving a performance of amazing stolidness handing out his standard catch phrase “Just the facts, mam”. Initially taking a documentary approach before switching to a more standard form of storytelling of solving crimes this is the granddaddy of police procedurals.

    1. I was disappointed that Life on Mars didn’t last long, it was so well done. If you get a chance, you should check out the English version, it is just as well done and a little different. Dragnet is a good choice too and I didn’t see Wiseguy, but it sounds good too.

  18. I haven’t seen any of your TV picks, but I’ve seen Life On Mars on a few other lists today. I’ll have to look into it.
