Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful my hubby and I are getting our 1st dose of the vaccine today. I have still seen my niece and her kids, but not at our house so I can’t wait to have The Great One over again- Joanie can’t wait too.

We are joining their poetry day named after Teddy’s angel brother Sammy ‘s Poetry Day. Here is the photo prompt provided- I had The Great One in mind when I wrote my poem.

Little girl stop trying to grow up so fast.
someday you will long for the past.
You are beautiful just as you are
save the lipstick until you are old enough to drive a car.

I have been debating whether to join The A-Z Blog Hop this year. I already did cat books twice and crocheted items twice so I wanted something different. I think we can all use happiness in our lives right now so I am going to do the A-Z of being happy. I know we are all unique and have different ideas of happiness, but I hope to spread some joy.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two. The linky stays open until Wednesday night.

  1. Hi there, Joanie! 🙂

Mom Ellen, we are so excited for you. Good luck to you and your hubby getting your first dose of the vaccine!

  2. Hope the vaccine administration went well…and that you won’t suffer too much from side effects. \Did you get a link to check in each day to report how you feel?? I got that, and now they still even check in once a week. If you didn’t get a link, you could make an account at the CDC’s web site, and then give them the vaccine details, etc. They’ll take it from there. Which vaccine did you get?? I got Moderna, through my work and hubby got Pfizer through a clinic for at risk seniors.

You are right about that poetry picture, our little ones grow up way before their time, these days…too much exposure to all kinds of things they don’t need to be kids. You should make that into a nice picture and frame it for your Great One. On the other hand…um…maybe not. LOL!

That is a nice idea you have for the A-Z challenge, we all could use tons more things ‘Happy’!

    1. I thought we were getting Moderna, but it was Johnson and Johnson. Only one dose needed and no problems so far. XO

  3. My human can’t wait to get her shots! Whenever she can get them. If the hospital we visit gives the okay for volunteers, it will be sooner than later. Paws crossed!

  4. That is a sweet poem. It is true, little girls want to grow up so fast. I am glad you are able to get your vaccine today. It will be a happy day when we can all start to mix again.

  5. That’s an adorable poem…..and that’s what my Mom said too……little girls are in a big hurry to grow up sometimes! We hope your Mom and Dad have no problem getting their shots – Mom had NO reaction at all and is looking forward to shot #2 !!

    Hugs, Teddy

  6. What a great poem. Dad’s “little” girl, who lives right up in your neck of the woods, has a little girl of her own. Dad says all his kids grew up waaaay too fast, and he wishes he could’ve slowed things down a bit and enjoyed them more.

  7. AIn’t it the truth about longing for youth when you’re older’n dirt! The fill-ins look extra good!

  8. That’s a cute little poem and hooray for those shots. Mom and Dad will have their 2nd done soon, Mom tomorrow and Dad on Monday. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  9. I’m glad you’re getting your first dose of the vaccine.

Love that poem and it’s spot on. We get old very quickly. I’ve had a wonderful ride to old age.

I’m all ready for the fill-ins. Great fill-ins.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Big hug to you and scritches to the kitties. ♥

  10. Wonderful y’all are getting your vaccine shots! I’ve had both of mine already, and had no problems.
Yes, the A to Z challenge … I have no ideas for anything new, so probably will go retro and post my entries from the first year when pretty much no one even saw them haha! 🙂

    1. Thank you. 🙂 Glad you had no problems with your shots. I look forward to your A-Z. XO

  11. Yay for the shot! I’m going to be eligible next week, but I have a feeling it will be hard to get an appointment. But, I’ll be trying.

  12. How exciting that The Great One will finally be able to come over to your house again! I can imagine both you and Joanie will enjoy her visits again so much. Your poem is so cute and true. And I love your A to Z Challenge theme. It’s so perfect for the times we’re currently experiencing. Purrs!
