Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop I am thankful for access to healthcare and medicine. My mom, hubby and I all have pneumonia, but fortunately, we were able to get antibiotics and prednisone. So many people in the world are not that lucky.

I am also thankful for my Brody who has been such a good nurse. A lot of nights, I sleep on the couch because of my cough and he sleeps on my lap and stays right through my coughing fits.

We are also joining  Sammy’s Poetry Day. Here is my poem to go with this photo prompt provided by Teddy’s mom.

You don’t like the ivy covering the door?
Removing it is quite the chore.
We are busy little elves
its more important to get cookies on the shelves.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I know I am sick when _____________________.

2. For St. Patrick’s Day, I _________________________.
3. It’s been a long time since _________.
4. In order to _________, you have to ________.

  1. I think you have a great attitude, Ellen. What you are eating looks very healthy, too. Stay of good cheer; keep up the prednisone and appropriate antibiotics to give your pneumonia a meltdown!

  2. Oh, my, I did not know you were ill…hope you and your loved ones are feeling much better really soon! It is for sure a blessing to have the medicines we do, to help us get over the ills that plague us.

That is a cute poem! The doorway to the Keebler Elves! MOL!

  3. I’m so sorry you and David have pneumonia but so GLAD you are on meds and will be feeling better soon. Please just take care of yourselfs and let Nurse Brody continue to keep your lap nice and warm! I love your poem for “THE DOOR” – I sure wouldn’t want to have to keep those vines trimmed either!

    Love, Pam
