Hi everyone! Before we get started, we want to give our condolences to Wag”nWoof Pets on their loss of beautiful Samantha.

And to The Cat Corner on the loss of their handsome boy, Sammy.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that Penny and Sammy’s blood work was good. Sammy will have his dental next Thursday and also get that bump on his nose checked. Penny has great teeth for a 10 year old and no dental is needed.

Here is my poem today for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on this photo:

If only this tree could talk,
it was alive before Bach.
I bet it has seen couples stealing kisses
then returning as Mr. and Mrs.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

  2. I have no idea what those objects are, but judging by the surface they are on I don’t think they are as big as they look.
    I am glad Sammy and Penny’s blood work was good.
    I don’t do the Fill Ins because I usually only do my flashbacks on Fridays now, but 13 years ago I was laid up with a badly broken lower leg and had discovered cat blogs. Soon after (July 2006) Eric and Flynn started blogging.

    I think that was an awesome poem for the photo prompt. Those trees must have a zillion cool (and, maybe, some not so cool) stories to tell.

    Hmmm are you making a wooden polka dotted elephant? 🙂 Whatever it is, I think it looks like fun!

  5. So sad about the losses this week and now Mags, Ann’s heart kitty has joined the other Angels. Losses seem to come in batches and it’s tough. On the positive side we’re happy that blood work for your two was GOOD and we’ll hope Sammy’s bump is OK too. We love your poem for the photo this week and the HUGE tree – we think you’re right about that little “cave” being a nice spot for some private moments……. Those logs with dots are intriguing but we haven’t got the SLIGHTEST idea what they are! DO TELL!!

    I’m sorry to hear of these kitties going to the Rainbow Bridge. This week has been a sad one for many. A close childhood friend died on Monday. It’s so heartbreaking, especially for her family. Another childhood friend’s mother died on Sunday which is sad but sorta expected given her age & health. Death is never easy no matter when it happens, though.

    On to lighter things like your cute poem which is adorable. 🙂 Have a purrfect day!

    We went by The Cat Corner to express our condolences as well. It seems ironic, two long haired black cats, one male, one female, with almost the same name, passing within days of each other. 🙁
    We are glad for the good news for your crew, and hope all will go well with Sammy’s dental and having that bump checked.

  11. It is amazing to think about what a large tree like that has witnessed over the years. I think there is a tree in St. Augustine that was there when the first settlers arrived.

  14. Wow, I think you’ve got us all stumped on the pink-dotted logs!
    Too many friends are running over The Bridge; so very sad. My condolences to all of their families.
    Wonder how trees think of humans, since they live for so very long, and we live and die much quicker.

  16. Penny is so lucky she doesn’t need dental! Both Lexy and I had to have it done, and I lost my front fangs in the process! Lexy only lost two tiny molars.

  21. Soft woos and gentle hugs to the families of your friends Sammy and Samantha on their losses. It is never easy to lose a beloved furry.

    That’s a great poem for that very old tree – we would love to be able to see the full view of that giant in the real world.

    A lot of thankful that Penny and Sammy had good bloods! Hoping Sammy’s bump is just that… just a bump.
