Thankful Thursday

Today is V day for the A-Z Blogging Challenge.V is for vaccines. If your cat is healthy and young, you can get vaccines at clinics much cheaper than going to the vet. Our local shelter does vaccines every Wednesday morning and the pet store also has a few days a month that the same shelter comes to for reduced cost vaccines. You save the cost of an office visit that way, around here that would be $60 and the vaccines are cheaper too than at the vet. I only recommend this for young and healthy because seniors need a thorough exam.

We are also joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Emmy is thankful to everyone who has helped promote her book. I am thankful too. Don’t forget to take a guess at the number of pennies Penny has on her post on Tuesday for a chance to win a copy of the book.

Here is my poem today for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on  this adorable photo prompt.

Hey big sis , look at me!
I know I am not three,
but I want to be just like you
even if it means wearing a tutu.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I got my first cell phone in ____________.

2. I wish the word __________________ could be removed from the English language.

3. I’ll never outgrow _________.

4. _________ make(s) me feel old.
One more thing….. I am trying to rescue a kitty that lives in SC. Does anyone know a trucker that travels down there all the way to CT or MA? Or do you know of anyone traveling from an airport in Greenville, SC, Atlanta, GA, Asheville, NC to Hartford, CT? I know this is an odd request, but I figured I would put it out there. Thank you.

  1. Miss Ellen I want to know when you will be writing ANOTHER adorable book about another of your “family” of kitties! I also want to say that your poem this week is so cute – I bet those two ARE sisters and best friends. It was a sweet photo to do a poem about. Thanks for playing poetry with us every week.

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. Vaccines are necessary. It makes me so angry when parents don’t do this and it endangers everyone.

  2. We loved Emmys Book and posted Miss Fitz’s review today. We all loved it.
It is time for us to get our Vaccines and check ups too. Goodness are we all elders now

  3. Our local Tractor Supply has a pet vaccine clinic every weekend, and our local low-cost spay/neuter clinic offers even cheaper vaccines at least once a month, with their traveling events, as well as pet stores. Our old vet used to look down her nose at the DIY vaccines that I administered to Angel and Chuck, but our current guy thinks it’s smart!

    1. I wish I could do vaccines myself, but I didn’t know you could purchase them. There is a Tractor supply in the next town so I will check it out.

  4. Lots to be thankful for. I hope someone can recuse that kitty before tomorrow.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

  5. Vaccinations are crucial a good post topic. And thanks for reminding everyone about senior cat check-ups, a crucial post topic as well.

I’ll ask around about the kitty.

  6. We love Emmy’s book ! Our human needs to get busy and put a review on Amazon.

Pet Supplies Plus and Tractor Supply also have low-cost vaccination clinics, if those are in your area.

Purrayers for getting your kitty transported,

    1. Thank you for reading Emmy’s book. And thanks for the Tractor Supply tip, there is one in the next town.

  7. Awww, that’s a great poem. Littles do want to be like the big ones, don’t they.

Vaccinations can be so pricey, we go to a clinic where the costs are reasonable.

  8. That was such a cute poem and terrific thankfuls too! I hope your book sales super tons! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  9. Have you tried placing an ad on Craigslist for someone in the cat’s area? That might work, you never know. Good tip on the shot clinics. Here they’re about 1/3 the cost of a vet visit!

  10. Have you asked Brian Frum Ellen? He might know someone in the SC area. If not have a look o F for kitty transports. Go for a long established and trustworthy one. Ring around local shelters to the kitty and see if they have a local transport contact too.

    Good Luck

    1. Yes, I asked him. It was from his blog I learned of the kitty. It all worked out and kitty has a home now. XO

  11. We have our copy of I Am Not a Skunk and love it! We will be posting a happy review on our blog in the very near future. If I’m lucky, resident librarian Thimble will pose with Emmy’s adorable book. Just like your book, your poem is wonderful! This image reminded me of my sister and me when were little, even though we never danced ballet. Purrs!

  12. Adorable prompt and, once again, perfect prose to go with it. Vaccines are super important for both two- and four-legged babies. I just heard the CDC is recommending everyone who was vaccinated against measles as a child during the 60s should get re-vaccinated now because of the measles outbreak. Crazy!!!!

  13. Charlee: “Vaccines are very important, but I’m pretty sure that if Dennis were still with us, he would say V is for Vizsla!”
Chaplin: “Since he’s not here, I’ll say it for him!”
