Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop was canceled for this week, we will miss it and hope it returns next week.

We are participating in the Ten Things of Thankful Blog Hop

  1. I am thankful that I can sew ( a little) so I could j=help Sammy with his Cat Scout’s hat.

2. For witchery ( the stuff you use so you don’t have to sew something) , I did have to dust off the old iron though. I used it to get the tiny badges on Sammy’s hat.

3. I am thankful it is raining so I don’t have to go out at midnight and look for meteors. I usually don’t mind, but I need to get up early.

4. The reason I need to get up early is —I am going to IKEA! Finally!  With my niece and great-niece. I wish my Mom was going too, but she thinks it will be too crowded.

5. I am thankful Joanie got through her dental and a small bump removed on Thursday. I always worry when anyone I love is going under.

6. For my 49 free books I got on Monday.

7.Our first corn of the year from our garden-fantastic ( that is the actual name of it).

8. Spending time with my mom and the great one on Friday.

9. For a special Chewy package Phoebe will tell you about tomorrow.

10. I am thankful for all of the friends I have made through blogging, I am truly blessed.

  1. 3 and 7 got our attention. First, TBT tries to see meteor showers but town lights fade out most of them, and this year the moon is high and bright. Next year the moon will be New. Second, he loves bicolor corn and got some to grow this year. Half length, but some is better than nothing!

    1. This year it was cloudy both nights, 2 years ago we saw a lot of them.
I hope his corn is as good as ours was. 🙂

  2. You, your cats, your family, and your blog are true blessings, Ellen. And Sammy’s hat is adorable, and he looks so proud of it! You are very fortunate to have such a loving and sustaining family. Take good care!

  3. I just love these Ten Things of Thankful that you post. I really need to start joining in on this, as it is a great practice all around. Sammy, you look mighty handsome in your hat! And I am so glad to hear that Joanie’s procedure went well. Have fun at IKEA!

    1. Thank you. You should join in the Thankful post. Sammy and Joanie thank you. And IKEA was fun.

  4. Those are 10 great things to be thankful for today. Well done. We love your hat Sammy. You all have a super duper day.

  5. Oh! We didn’t know Joanie was going to have surgery. Hope she is feeling some better by now.

Petcretary tried to see meteors when she got home form her work, but the trees blocked her view from that section of sky…and the moon was out..and she didn’t feel like staying out longer to find a better viewing spot, MOL! She has seen those before. Kind of neat to see all those ‘shooting stars’!

When petcretary and hubby had their first ‘date’ it was mid august, and when hubby to be drove home he saw lots of those shooting stars. he said it was *the Sign*!!

    1. It has been cloudy here so we haven’t seen any, same thing last year, but 2 years ago, we had a viewing party with 2 other couples and saw at least 50, it was amazing. That is a sweet story about your first date. XO

  6. I hope Joanie is doing well after surgery. I always worry when Niko has to do dental, too. I usually take day off and camp out near the vet. Have fun at IKEA 🙂 I’ve been there once, and boy was it crowded! I sure enjoyed, though 🙂

    1. IKEA was fun. It is hard not to worry when loved ones ( human and furry) are under. XO

  7. Oh surgery is NEVER fun but I’m with you – I like when it’s OVER and I can stop worrying! Nice TEN thankfuls…..and I hope you SCORE at IKEA!

    Hugs, Teddy and Mom

  9. There’s an IKEA about 10 miles from us. I’ve been there once and felt like I was a rat in a maze. I guess it would be fun if you enjoy looking at all the stuff and hunting for things.
Great news about Joanie’s dental and de-lumping 🙂 going well.

    1. I also feel like a rat in a maze there, but I manage because it is such a nice store. 🙂

    1. I am glad your peeps stayed home with you. You wouldn’t like IKEa with all the people, but if it was empty, you would love all the beds.

  10. Hope you had fun at IKEA. We don’t have any near us, and the first time i passed one and had the time to go in was such fun, i felt like a kid in a candy shop!

    1. We don’t have any near us either, it took about 1 hr and 45 minutes to get there and we stayed for 2 hours – it is fun looking at all the kitchens and furniture even though I can’t afford any of that.

  11. We are sorry we had to cancel Caturday Art this week.

Those are great things to be thankful for.

IKEA has some good stuff but as Mum hates crowds and shopping she prefers to order online.

    1. We missed it, but completely understand. I had to take an Effexor before going and I was still tense in the crowds, but I wanted those mice and cat curtains. XO

  12. Ah, Ikea. It’s a whole world of its own. There’s no other place like it. Hope you found what you were looking for.

  13. Hi Ellen! I am back home and finally getting around to read TToT posts! It was fun to come here and find that you have such happy thankfuls to share!

Sammy’s Cat Scout hat is adorable, you do nice sewing! I can’t tell you the last time I used my iron, yet I remember my mother spending all of every Tuesday ironing our family’s clothes. I am so grateful we don’t have to do that anymore!

Corn fresh from the garden tastes so wonderful, it’s fun to grow things to eat! I hope you had fun at IKEA and found something you just had to have. 🙂

Free books and a Chewy package, life doesn’t get better than that! Like you, I am so very grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve met blogging, and I count you among them. XOXO

    1. Thank you. I am grateful for your friendship too. I saw in your post that you had a wonderful time with your kids, that is wonderful. XO
