Hi everyone! Penny is here today with tips, but not Penny’s tips. These are tips to keep your cat healthy and save money. Today we are focusing on the letter B.

B is for brushing. If you brush your cat’s teeth at least 3 times a week, you can prevent dental issues. This is better for your cat’s health and your wallet because dentals at the vet and extractions are costly.
I am guilty of not doing this, but I am going to try. I know already some cats like KaTwo and Polar Bear won’t let me, but I will try on Joanie and Sammy. As you can see from the photo, Penny is a good candidate too. Every time my cats go for a dental, they come home with a toothbrush and a sample of toothpaste. I found a great website that gives instructions. You don’t even need a kit, you can dilute hydrogen peroxide in water ( 25% peroxide to 75% water) , dip a cloth in it and rub it on your cat’s teeth. Unfortunately, some cats are more prone than others to plaque buildup so may still require dentals, but hopefully, less often.
Brushing your cat’s fur at least once a week is also a good idea. The more you brush, the less they ingest which means fewer furballs.
