Hi everyone! Time for Friendly Fill-Ins Week 32. Don’t forget to add your linky to McGuffy’s Reader. You can also answer in the comments.

The fill-ins:

1. My favorite Christmas Song(s) is/are_____________________, but I could do without hearing _____________________ever again.
2.My most meaningful Christmas ornament/decoration is ____________________, because________________________.
3. My favourite holiday treat is                                .

4. A holiday tradition in my house is                                      .

My Answers:

  1. My favorite Christmas songs are Happy Christmas and Dominick the Donkey. but I could do without hearing Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer ever again ( it upsets Phoebe).
  2. My most meaningful Christmas decoration is a set of lights that my parents used on our Christmas tree when I was very young. They were missing for years and I found them when we were selling my childhood home in 2003. I don’t actually use them, I just display them in their box ( they are practically an antique).

3. My favourite holiday treat is Chex party mix with peanuts, pretzels and raisins coated in white chocolate, my friend makes it, I need to get the recipe.

4. A holiday tradition at my house is watching the Christmas episode of Dr. Who on Christmas Night with my hubby. tardis

This photo is a few years old , my Angel Stinky is in front of the tree.

Phoebe will be sharing some of her art tomorrow.

Madi Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Today is fun and games day and we have been having lots of fun. Flat Cat Scout Madi was here all weekend. It was rainy so Joanie played Fish with her ( Madi won)

003Phoebe showed Madi her bulletin board of her purrince:002I hope we didn’t bore her.

Our friend Billy the Time Cat sent Phoebe and I a belated birthday gift. His Mom makes really cool items out of beads and she made us each a Dr. Who coaster:004She is very talented to do all the intricate work. My big fingers can’t even text with a cell phone. Here is the link to her Etsy store: . She crochets too and has some nice blankets for kitties.

Dr. Who Tardis Contest Winner

Well, it is finally Dr. Who day and I can announce the crocheted catnip Tardis winner. The winner is……Kitty Cat Chronicles. Congratulations!  I know you have more than one cat so I will send some other catnip toys too. We wouldn’t want the kitties to fight.

And for anyone that wants their own Tardis, I found a catnip felt one on ETSY. Here is the link, hurry there is only one: There is also a Tardis cat bed for kitties that you can get custom made- I was afraid to check the price. Here it is:

I am keeping it short today. I will be having another contest sometime next week.

001I think my cats were having a meeting yesterday- I must have not gotten the memo.

Vicky Halls- UK Cat Behaviorist

Happy Thursday everyone! Only 2 days until the Dr. Who premier, that means only 2 more days of me yapping about it left. I have been trying to come up with a cat behavior to go along with Dr. Who week, but I couldn’t think of anything. Instead, I thought I would find the UK’s equivalent of Jackson Galaxy ( cat Daddy).

I came up with Vicky Halls, if I have this wrong please chime in. She is nothing like Jackson Galaxy, but she is a cat behavior expert that his written some books. I couldn’t find a TV show about her or any cat shows though. Her website is: . There was a lot of helpful information including frequently asked questions about cat behaviors. She has a blog, but the most recent post was three months ago.

Have a great day everyone and don’t forget to comment to win the Tardis ( if you already commented this week, you are entered). But, feel free to comment again.

ROAR-Cat Chat in the UK

Happy Wednesday everyone! My throw rugs didn’t last long, as most of you know, I washed them last week and put them back out. My hubby and I had bets on how long it would be until the kitties struck. Lucy struck the red hall one yesterday ( pee) and Millie got the kitchen one ( corn husk vomit). Only one left in the bedroom- anyone want to bet how long that will last?

Today is ROAR day and in keeping with the Dr. Who theme of the week I have chosen a charity from the UK called Cat Chat to donate to. It is like Petfinder, but just for cats. Their mission is to get cats out of shelters and into homes. Here is their link:

One time someone told me that white cats are considered bad luck in the UK and black ones are good luck. I would love to hear from readers that live there to know if this is true. I have 4 black ones and 3 white ones. I am fairly superstitious and asked my hubby for another white one to even it off, but he wouldn’t go for it.

Have a great day everyone and be sure to comment if you didn’t yesterday for a chance to win this crocheted catnip Tardis : 002

Contest Winner and Tardis Contest

Happy Tuesday everyone! First off, the winner of the cat print scarf is Fur Everywhere-don’t worry, I will throw in some crocheted catnip toys for the kitties too. Congratulations! I will announce another contest at the end of the post.

Today is medical day and in keeping with the Dr. Who theme I will give you hints to travel back in time with your cat. I found this great article on how to keep your cat’s mind alert and active into old age: Most of the ideas are common sense and are things you probably do anyway, but it is worth a look. Even old cats like to play and be a little active. Some of the suggestions include taking your cat outside on a leash ( I recommend a harness), teaching new tricks and getting “puzzles” for them to do. Not a 500 piece jigsaw, just the kind where you hide treats-LOL.

The Tardis has arrived ( thanks Mom). This one is filled with polyfil and catnip ( take that Dr. Who) Just leave a comment today or sometime this week. I will pick a winner on Saturday- the day of the Dr. Who premier. Have a great day everyone! 002

PS: For anyone that is really into Dr. Who and Cats- this is a link of all the cats ever shown in Dr. Who:

Its Dr. Who Week!

Its Dr. Who week!!!! I apologize in advance for anyone that doesn’t like Dr. Who, but this week I am doing a Dr. Who theme in eager anticipation of the premier on Saturday 8/23 form 8-10 on BBC. My hubby is a total Sci-fi geek and some has rubbed off on me over the years. I also enjoy movies and tv shows with time travel, my favorite movie ever is Peggy Sue Got Married from 1985-mostly because Nicolas Cage is in it and I LOVE him.

Lucy is a Dr. Who fan too-Tardis1this one is made of cardboard. I think Lucy wants to travel back to when it was just her and KaChoo.

For fun and games I have found a cat tree/house that looks like a Tardis. For anyone not familiar with Dr. Who,  Tardis stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space. It is a Police Cal Box that the Dr. travels through time in-it is much bigger on the inside. This kitty one is not bigger on the inside. I keep bugging my hubby to make the kitties one, but so far no luck. I also keep pestering him to make a garden shed Tardis as well-someday.  Here is the kitty one:

Tomorrow I will announce the winner of the scarf with cats on it so you can still comment today to enter. I will also announce another contest -Dr. Who themed, of course. Yesterday, I decided to try painting being that the one I did in class came out so well. I thought it would be fun to add plastic eyes: 010I thought it was cute until I realized the poor cat looks like he is bleeding to death. I am going to change the color of the rug.

Contest and Noel’s Story

Happy Sunday everyone! I actually can’t wait for Monday to start my Dr. Who themed week. I vacuumed again yesterday, there were a lot of dead fleas, but that is a good thing. I am starting to doubt my eye sight and/or cleaning ability. I found an Oreo Truffle on the enclosed porch and I know it was from Christmas because I had used the chocolate color “Grinch Green”. I vacuumed it up and it got stuck in the hose so I was going to try to break it apart with a knife. Luckily, the hose fell off and I accidentally plugged it into the wrong hole ( the one that shoots out air) and it shot out like a cannon-LOL.

Today is every cat has a story day and today is Noel’s Day. She is Polar Bear’s other wife. I adopted her in 2006 when I was tutoring a senior in high school that had just had a baby. I used to toss crumpled up papers to Noel while I was tutoring ( I may have a touch of ADD) and she would fetch them. The family was afraid Noel would hurt the baby and no longer wanted her so I said I would adopt her. She was born in 2005 so I guess she is already 9. She is a sweetie and has never hurt me. She does growl when some of the other cats get near her, but I doubt she would have harmed a baby. Here she is: NOEL.

Don’t forget to comment to enter the drawing for the cat scarf. If you commented yesterday, you are entered, but feel free to comment again.Enjoy your day.

PS: We just linked to a selfie blog so here is KaTwo’s selfie:001

Another Contest and Stinkies Fish

Happy Saturday, I am having another giveaway ! I really do love to give things away, I never let anyone leave my home empty handed which is probably why I don’t get a lot of company-LOL. I went to the mall with my mom ( its about 40 minutes away) and I got a scarf for free at JCPenney!!! It is the same kitty scarf I already have that my cats got me for Mother’s Day. Well, it was on clearance and I had a coupon for $10 off so it was free! I went to Macy’s for another MEOW bracelet, but the price was twice as much as last week. I can’t figure out these store sales.  001Just leave a comment to enter and I will pick a winner Tuesday when I announce another contest that goes along with our Dr. Who themed week that starts Monday.

Saturday is product day and Stinky wants to recommend these Stinkies Fish. 003Here is the Amazon link: Actually, all the catnip toys in this brand are great. Our kitties have a cigar,a banana and candy canes.
